  1. Totally agree. This is a terrible idea when it comes to single player experiences, for example, a Zelda or Mario title. I can see the appeal (kinda) in some MMORPGs or something, but for everyday console gaming...no. Play the first hour of Goldeneye for free, then pay a level at a time.
  2. "He likes playing games...something with other people...must've been Warcraft...that was probably why he killed everyone." So stupid.
  3. Dragooooo welcomes the Cup, although they will ultimately treat it with disdain, as we know that the league remains top priority. I'm going to get smashed today. But, I have no choice but to try and get something from this game. Go out there and perform, you brave, brave warriors. Sons of Dragooooonia.
  4. Not really bad, but just annoying. I can't stand morning radio talkshows, or these radio DJs who talk all the fucking time. Must have tried about a half a dozen different stations this morning whilst taking Ine to work before rage quitting on the way back. Seriously, why? It's all about the muuusic. I must have heard about a total of 4 songs spanning various different stations, none of them truly great anyway. Gah. Might just have to make a mega-playlist for the car.
  5. You're both right. Yes, spoiler tags should be used. But, at the same time, what else is there possibly to discuss in this thread if not for the film itself. It's just been released, it is going to be one of the biggest films this year, and there's a lot to talk about. So, naturally, people will talk. It's absolute suicide coming into this thread if you haven't seen the film yet. Why bother? You already know what the impressions are going to be: Majority will like it, some will love it, some will hate it. Another thing I loved, which I was thinking about this morning:
  6. I've just got back from the cinema and am dying to talk about the film.
  7. It's terrible. In every respect. Have I played it? No. Aha. I may finally get a chance to play it, as there's a copy of the N64 version in the house. I wonder if it still holds up well. I remember popping into some shop when I was a kid (might've been PC world) and me thinking that the boxart for Tooie looked amazing. Always seemed expensive, though.
  8. I'm only interested in this if it comes pre-installed with Snake. Do you have a Nkokia 3210? What about Nkokia 1001binary edition?
  9. Oh God...if you keep talking like that, I won't be able to hide my throbbing...enthusiasm. Perfect Dark to Retro just seems so right. It will never ever happen. Never. Ever. But, fuck, it would be so good. On the one hand, I miss RARE. Goldeneye and Perfect Dark are two of my all-time favourites, I have so many amazing memories, it was a happy time in my life. At the same time, they've changed so much. They're not the same company any more, and having RARE back on board is just a dream, a yearning to go back to those glorious days in the past. It's unachievable, and even if it were, it just wouldn't be the same.
  10. I had an excellent evening yesterday. Two of my friends who I work with came over to see where Ine and I live. They liked the place and soon spotted that I had my retro consoles on display. They came over around 8-ish and didn't leave til after midnight, as we spent the majority of the night playing Mario Kart: Double Dash. Loved it! I wasn't really a fan of the game before, but I have a new found respect for it now. Every game we played was close, although Ine won something ridiculous like 29 of the games that we played. Awesome night. Tonight, I'm going to see The Dark Knight Rises. Andddd, today, it's sunny, so I'm going to weightlift and exercise in the garden. Because I can.
  11. Smalling is out for 10 weeks after surgery for a broken bone in his foot. I can already tell that we're going to start slowly next season.
  12. Some interesting posts in this thread here. Yes, I do agree that if somebody wants to kill others or create acts of devastation, they will do it. There's a line in The Dark Knight which just sums this up for me: "Some people just want to watch the world burn." Yes, if they want to kill, they will find a way. But, at the same time, let's not make it easy for these people. This man, according to reports, purchased weapons and ammunition legally. I'm not comfortable at all with people being able to purchase weapons so easily. I would argue that it is much easier to commit acts like this with a gun than with a knife. At least with a knife you have a chance to defend yourself. What chance do you have with a rifle?
  13. I've had a bit of a busy week, so haven't played any more of this. Will have time today though to plough some hours into it.
  14. YES! It sounds seamless and is an extension of each other. I imagine that would rock so hard opening a gig with both of those songs.
  15. Couldn't decide if this should be in funny or awesome. Biff from Back to the Future answers your questions.
  16. FUCK YES! First away victory of the season, and what a time to win. Currently 4th on 20 points. Seahawks also have 20. SixtyFourthers, Leeds MOT and Aqui1a are all level on 19. Any 3 of 7 teams could get relegated right now. So fucking tight. I'm hoping one win will see me stay up if the teams around me mess up. Can't see myself getting much from these remaining games... As long as I finish higher than @Ellmeister, I'm happy.
  17. I've made a separate thread now. Watching some of the live BBC feed, it's terrible. There's footage taken by somebody outside the cinema when people are running out. Pure chaos.
  18. Already posted in the Dark Knight Rises thread, but this is pretty important news, so it deserves its own thread. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-18921492 14 people shot dead in a cinema in Denver during the midnight showing of The Dark Knight Rises 50 others are injured, many with critical injuries Gunman walked into the cinema around 40 minutes into the film, fired some sort of gas cannister(possibly tear gas) before picking off people at random I'm watching some of the live feed on the BBC website. Horrific. According to some eyewitnesses, they initially thought it was part of a stunt or a "joke" when the person walked in and fired off the gas cannister. Then, the shooting started.
  19. This is horrific. 14 people have been shot dead at a Midnight showing of this in Denver. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-18921492
  20. News just in that Arsenal have received bids for Van Persie from Man United, Man City and Juventus. Out of those bids, I imagine Arsenal will ship him off to Juve. Would be absolute lunacy to send him to City or United. As a United fan, not sure what I think of all of this. I'm not sure if we need another striker on the books, as we have Rooney, Welbeck, Hernandez, Berbatov and Macheda as our first choice 5. Plus, there are other players who can play in that supporting striker role. What we really need is a central midfielder, a new engine for the team. A David Silva and a Yaya Toure.
  21. I went on a bit of a spending spree in Cardiff and bought a few albums for dirt cheap prices. One of them was a bit of a gamble: Death in Vegas - Scorpio Rising. What a fantastic album it is. Every song is different, yet it is all part of the connective. Help Yourself is my favourite song off the album. It's everything. It's mellow, but pure rock at the same time. It really kicks in at around the 5 minute mark. Parts of it sound like it wouldn't feel out of place in a James Bond soundtrack, part of it feels like a Beatles India-inspired song, another part is a spiritual journey, and the other part reminds me of my Mum's cooking when I was a kid, sweet but spicy in all the right places. I'M IN HEAVEN.
