Imagine buying the next FIFA and you get told that the Season Pass contains access to Real Madrid, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Liverpool and Swansea City. Barcelona isn't part of the Season Pass, but they can be bought for £7.99, but this is without Messi. Lionel Messi is available in Year 2's Season Pass, which also contains "Classic Real Madrid" featuring Ronaldo with Zidane on the touchline.

I don't think the money is necessarily the problem. The players coming in look like sensible/decent singings. It's just that the club doesn't know what to do with them when they get here. Reminds me of the Di Maria signing, which looked like a very good signing. I think most United fans were banking on Mourinho coming in and really sorting out the squad, but he hasn't really moulded together a team in the way that many thought he would. Maybe we need to look at another way. We've tried the "experienced" manager. We've tried "Premier League experience" with Moyes, we've tried "World experience" with Van Gaal with his philosophy and we've tried Mourinho's way which I guess is a combination of both. Perhaps a more youthful coach would be better, someone hungry.

Yeah, we've been watching a couple of episodes a night and quite like it. It reminds me of Scrubs in lots of ways. Charles/Boyle is my favourite character so far, although Terry Crews tends to steal every scene that he's in. His face just kills me, every single time.

How does the Overwatch data work? I don't think anything is actually saved to the PS4 itself, is it? It's all saved to your Overwatch/Blizzard account?
-
It's a pretty "safe" release date, isn't it? I expect that it'll get delayed, maybe not by a huge amount of time, but maybe just a little to put the finishing touches onto it. I wonder how it's shaping up because we don't seem to have had many gameplay trailers, have we?

Gamescom 2018 Opening Conference

I've put this on now, because why not? Cyberpunk later today, right? Hnnnngggg. -
There looked to be contact for the penalty and my initial reaction to that and the sending off was that the referee got both decisions right. Unlucky for Palace. Very little in the game and I thought both sides looked difficult to break down. Keita in midfield had a great game, I thought. Palace just couldn't get Zaha into the game enough, which was a shame because I felt he could have done something, like he did in the second half where he won the free kick. Think a 2-0 looks slightly harsh on Palace, but they'll be ok. They look pretty good imo and should be around midtable, which is comfortable for them. They're one striker short, imo. Benteke's shot in the second half where he almost cleared the stadium was comical.

We were scrolling through Netflix looking for a film to watch and we came across Midnight Special. Neither of us knew anything about it, so went into it blindly. I really enjoyed it and it just seemed to tick all of the right boxes. Sci-fi - tick. Interesting premise - tick. Satisfying musical score - tick. Lots to talk about once the credits roll - tick. You could tell that they were going for a Close Encounters of the Third Kind sort of vibe, particularly with the atmosphere, not giving too much information away quickly and just the general aesthetic. It also has that uplifting climactic scene that you find in Close Encounters, that moment of awe and wonder. So yeah, a nice little hidden gem of a film.

Just feed it into my veins already. Hnnnnngggg.

Yeah, agreed, February is too far away! Great trailer and I'm liking the outdoor aspects of this game. Just wonder how much it's going to affect the gameplay in terms of getting air filters. I wonder if they'll scrap that mechanic for this one or if they'll approach it in a slightly different way. I guess it depends on what sort of feel they're going for here, whether it's still that survival horror feel or not. Either way, really looking forward to it. I keep meaning to get the books, but I just don't have the time.

Really poor performance overall yesterday. Bailly had one of the worst individual performances in recent memory. Nothing came off for him yesterday and he looked very off the pace. Our whole right side of the pitch is just none existent. There was no pace there in the first half on that side and it's such a major concern going forward. What concerned me most in that second half is at no point did we make a go of it and try to get back into the game. The 3-2 scoreline makes it look a lot closer than it was. The reality is that we played like we were 5 or 6-1 down. Spurs at home next is a good opportunity to get back on track and I expect that the players will make a better attempt at that game. If we were to lose that in a similar fashion, then I don't know what will happen next.

If it means more work for EA though, I bet they'll say no. Just because, EA. 25 per second?! You'd go through the Switch's built in save space in days!
-
Haha, what? Really? I've saved tons of FIFA footage over the last few years! I imagine FIFA19 will allow video capture because it'll be stupid not to. Can you capture screenshots at least? LOL, capture a dozen screenshots per second and make a gif.

Hmm, then I guess there is potential there for the cloudsaving to be on a game-by-game basis... I imagine Nintendo will just do a direct around a few weeks before the online service is due out then. After the service is out, I guess the gamers themselves will be able to see what's there and what isn't, even if Nintendo don't tell them.
-
What's that about the video capture? Do you mean like screenshot and video saving? Have any developers actually said no to it or are there any games atm that you can't do that with? Feed me. I'm learning!
-
I really doubt the cloudsaves will be on a game-by-game basis because...it just sounds stupid that way. I imagine it'll be something like you go into the OS, highlight your game saves that you want to upload and then click a button to upload them. There's no reasonable logic to allow that to be on a per-game basis. As for the Splatoon stuff, why can't all of that be done in game? E.g. you load up Splatoon 2 and click on the "shop" option in the main menu. Why do you need an app for any of that? Can you do all of that stuff in game? Can you check your stats in the game itself or can you only do that on an app? What does the app currently do that you can't do in game? Have they said what will be different once the service starts? I remember something about voice chat being available through the app. Is that still the only way to do it? Can't you plug a headset into the console and then...voice chat that way? How do you communicate with randoms? Do you have to be playing the same game to voice chat or can you speak to someone as soon as they've booted up their Switch and chat with them whilst they get themselves up to speed/close their other game to join you? As it turns out, I have loads of questions! I take it back, @Kav

Why is support being treated as a game-on-game basis? Isn't the whole point of an online system that it covers everything? E.g. all game saves can just be uploaded to the cloud, etc. I've not really been following any of this, so this is all a bit new to me. What does the app do exactly?

2-0 down against Brighton within 30 minutes. Awful defending for both goals. Time for the players to show what they're made of.
-
What more is there to know? There's an app, there's online play, cloud control to Major Tom. What more would you like to know?

Wilson's goal was brilliant, but the defending behind it was so, so stupid. I knew that he had scored in the game at some point, so I watched the highlights knowing it was coming. But, when the camera panned to Wilson picking up the ball with 5 players around him, I couldn't help but laugh. There's no way he should have been scoring in the way that the action played out. Dreadful defending. On the other hand, well done to Wilson for having the vision to make something out of that position. Think Bournemouth will do alright this season. A top 10 finish would be brilliant, but I think they'll finish just outside, maybe 12.

I followed the livetext of the game and it sounded very entertaining. The highlights on MotD were fun to watch, especially the first half. I was a bit surprised at just how many chances Arsenal seemed to make for themselves, and equally surprised at how they messed them up. Really should have scored more than 2 goals in that first half. I don't understand why Lacazette isn't playing more games, or at least starting. Felt like his pace could have done some damage yesterday. Brighton away today. I'm hoping that Lukaku will get off the mark, and I'm going for a good United win. Going to say 3-1. Lukaku with two and Pogba to get the other.

I'll have a look now.

I used to watch that! I remember thinking it was quality back in the day! CITV, I think?

I really want to play this, but for me the issue is how to play the game. I never played it on the SNES and actually came into contact with it thanks to a rom that somebody passed on to me, with a glowing recommendation that it was an incredible game. But, the file was corrupted about a quarter of the way in, so I never finished it. I wanted to play a legitimate version, so I played it on @Eenuh's DS but never finished it as I usually get very bad headaches after a while when playing handhelds. Plus, using the DS/3DS gave me hand-cramps and it just generally didn't feel that pleasant to hold for too long. In the end, I gave up because it just didn't feel comfortable to play and I couldn't fully enjoy the game itself. So, I'm a bit stuck really. I have this really good game that I enjoyed playing and want to see through, but no real way to play it.

What's the texture of that keyboard like, @Ashley. Looks comfortable to use!
