Drop the hacking? You crazy, brah? That's the essence of the game. I love the hacking, I do feel like some kind of master thief whilst running around the city. The car mechanics need to stay, as do the stealth/open ended gameplay. For that, I'd like to see them keep the hacking because it just gives you more ways to approach a mission. One thing I'd love to have is the ability to drag bodies out of sight once you've knocked somebody down. That could even be a tactic or hindrance in itself, because you could move slower whilst doing this or could be easy to spot due to the noise of the body dragging. Things like that, just to make the experience even better. I'm finding that there's tons of stuff to do. No idea how much time I've spent in the game (is there a way to do this?) but I've hardly touched the story mode. I've spent hours just wandering around and finding things to do, stopping random crimes, being hacked into, etc.

Had a proper herp-derp moment earlier today. I just figured out how to select alternative pistols, the grenade launcher, etc. I don't know why, but I never saw the arrows next to the weapons when hitting L1. Tested out the grenade launcher when being chased by the police earlier. Was gurrrrrrrd. Also checked out ctOS Mobile Challenge mode today. Really enjoyed that. I love how seamless the online in, the hacking into other people's games aspect is awesome. Overall, I'm loving the game. I'm hopeful that Ubisoft can iron out the flaws and make this even better for the inevitable sequel. There's so much scope and potential here for future games.

I was under the impression that the Dedsec versions were out already. Pretty sure that they are.
-
Just looking at it, I think it's even worse than that. There's two prices quoted. £130 and 104 weeks @ £1.68...making the total payable £174.72. Fuaaaaark. So, I assume the 130 price is the "pay it now price" and the other option is you pay £1.68 over 104 weeks. Wow.
-
High cost being double what the price will probably be. You sure it's not just a place holder, brah? Who in their right mind would pay that?! Just looked at some of their prices for WiiU games. Pure lol. Maybe the catalogue will charge that after all.
-
Was just about to post the price before @S\.C\.G got there. Think the DedSec editions on PS4 are around £75. No way will this cost £130 if it comes to WiiU. Seems just like a complete guess with the price point. Also, Amazon STILL haven't got a date for the WiiU version and there's no price for the WiiU DedSec edition.

@Map, I've sent you a friend request. I've had my first dose of the online modes today when somebody infiltrated my game. Tried a few races, too. Looking forward to seeing more of this.

Official Gamecube to Wii U Controller Adapter announced!
Fierce_LiNk replied to Dcubed's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Doesn't this tell you something about the way Nintendo have gone with their philosophy? They've made the Wiimote, the nunchuk, the GamePad and all of the accessories in between. And, all that the fans want is...to be able to use a simple GameCube controller for Smash Bros. Makes you wonder what they'll do with the next console. I'd go back personally and use that GC controller as some sort of template. Like Sony have done with the DualShock and MS have done with the...thing. Use that as a starting point and improve that. You could put the gyroscopes in that, keeping some of the motion controls. Improve the shoulder buttons, give it a better d-pad, update the whole thing for the next generation. Boom. Winrar. -
Not sure if srs. If srs, then I'm sending you my details so we can cyber, lolz. Chuckled at all of this.

That's what I do, I use the handbrake a lot. I didn't use it for the first hour or so and really struggle to turn through tight corners. Can't really see what the criticism is about with that one and there's a noticeable difference between the heavy vehicles and sports cars, for example. I love the driving. It's pretty hard though to escape the police, I find. But, I kinda like that. Makes it very dramatic.
-
That's bad man, sorry to hear that. Hope it can get sorted quickly. Lol at that customer service conversation. I think you must have provided them with some giggles. You should've called them out on it. "u 'avin a giggle, m8?"
-
What do you think of the driving in the game? I've heard a lot of different people in different places moan about it, but it seems alright to me. I'm shit at it, but I blame myself and not the mechanics. Don't think I've done any story stuff today and been playing for around 3 hours. It's just such a time sucker...

It's here, as is Assassin's Creed IV. I've not touched AC yet. Started playing this around 1 yesterday, had a small break for a shower and food and went right back onto this afterwards. Spent houuuuurs playing it. So far, I really, really like it. Glad I went for it in the end. Graphically, the game looks best when it's raining, as others have been stating. I'm loving all of the little bits of dialogue from the randomers on the street, as well as listening to people's conversations, etc. Also, I haven't really seen this mentioned anywhere, but the water looks great in this game. I look for any opportunity I can to get into the water, usually when I'm being chased by cops. Had a hilarious moment earlier where they were after me and I drove my car to the edge of the road. I was fairly high up, but I was certain that there was water on the other side as I jumped off. So, I did it. Drove my car at full speed, jumped out, then jumped again to get over the wall and...splaaaat, crash landed on a walkway on the otherside. Killed instantly, almost took out a pedestrian with me. Was hilarious. Thought I'd made it. :p The chases in this game are pretty epic.

I'm going to completely disagree with you there. You're using flawed logic. Yes, Citizen Kane changed cinema, but lots of films have also changed it in several ways. Star Wars, for example. Jurassic Park. ET. Alien. Cinema has constantly evolved. Just like gaming has constantly evolved. Many people prefer The Empire Strikes Back to A New Hope and it probably is a better film overall, despite the fact that Star Wars/A New Hope was the one that kicked it all off. Let's look at my example of Star Wars. Fantastic what it has done in the past. It didn't just change the film industry, it affected media, the way that we perceive space travel, how we use technology, advertising, comics, gaming, etc. Is Star Wars as influential now as it once was? Hell no. Just because it was the cornerstone in the 1970s doesn't mean it has to be the most creative thing out there today, right now. It's still a great piece of work and to some it is the best thing or most wondrous thing that they've seen. You're almost comparing two different things; one is where it has had an impact in its field or industry and the other is whether or not it is the very best in its field. Citizen Kane has had a massive impact on film, but you'll be hard pressed to find many people that will argue that it is the best in its field for reasons other than it being a "game changer". (I'm colouring this blue to refer to this later) The mechanics of gaming have changed in lots of ways. Platformers today are different to the platformers that we were playing in the SNES era...At least, I hope so. If not, what's the point in having better technology and better consoles, or more skilled developers if the actual end product isn't better than what there was 20 or so years ago? Isn't that why games such as Rayman Origins and Legends have seen so much acclaim, because the technology is better, the developers have learned from those that came before them and there are just more tools at their disposal today than there were years ago. Seems pretty obvious to me. So yes, whilst it is important to appreciate what Mario has done, it shouldn't be sacrilegious to say that other games can outdo Mario or even Nintendo in that department. To a lot of people, some of these games have bested Nintendo's efforts. All down to how they perceive it really and what creativity means to them. I found Rayman Origins more enjoyable and creative than New Super Mario Bros. Wii, for example. That's all part of the fun, we want better experiences, otherwise just what is the point if nothing is going to be better than Citizen Kane anyway...a film that came out in 1941. Super Mario Bros. is seen by many as a game changer. Is it still the best in its field? In my opinion, no...Super Mario Galaxy came along and improved on it. In my opinion. (this part follows on from what I was saying in the blue part up above) There are probably loads of typos and mistakes in this. But, as you can see by the time, it's quite late. I hope it makes sense. Goodnight, brahs.

Good work, brah. Dat feel when you're on holiday and you enjoy showing off your body for the first week, then feel all of your aesthetic gains disappearing in the second week. Feel fat as fuck now.

Apparently Aston Villa are interested in taking Ashley Young back. They'll pay around £7million for him... For that price, I'll drive him there myself.

General Gaming Sales/Charts Discussion
Fierce_LiNk replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Do you even read, brah? Clearly says Brahville. (yes, Bournemouth, should be nice this time of year...hey, wait a minute-) Ubisoft have supported the system well, aye. I feel bad for them that they didn't receive more sales because the games are decent. ZombiU is great, for example. Can't say that they didn't try. It's what I was saying earlier with it having a ripple effect if the system doesn't sell. The WiiU has never really been flying off shelves, the demand hasn't been there, so Ubisoft were always hampered by this before their games were even released. I think the masses speak volumes, tbh. Although I didn't do it last generation, a lot of the "full-time" "hardcore" gamers would buy more than one system to get their fix. They probably did this in the generation beforehand, too. I don't see why that will change now, I expect it to filter through. So, if gamers have more than one system and a game such as Child of Light is more expensive on the WiiU than the One for example, or it's out later, where will they go to play the game? They're doing this with WatchDogs, they probably did it with Rayman Legends and it'll continue to happen unless there's some sort of equality or parity between systems. A lot of gamers will just buy the game to support the developer, not necessarily caring whether it's on a Nintendo platform or not. They'll want either the best version, or the cheapest, or both if they can get that. Why wouldn't you? -

I'm in Spain, brah. WatchDogs is either on my floor in the hallway after Mr. Postman has slipped it through my box (lol) or it's on the doorstep, waiting for the next ruffian that passes to thieve it. Soon. I get your mentality because I'm quite similar in that I would try and pick up a game for the WiiU to help Nintendo/developers out. But, is it really the best thing to do? You could end up spending more of your money and future games may not come anyway. The problems that lie within Nintendo are deep-rooted and, imo, a small handful of gamers supporting a few games isn't going to change an awful lot. It's better than nothing, obviously, but there are a lot of things that Nintendo need to sort out at their end. Pricing and infrastructure is a huge one. I feel that they basically need to go back to the drawing board, start from scratch and identify exactly what they want to do and who they're aiming things at. Also, get Child of Light. Ine has it for WiiU and I'm going to give it a go when I get around to it. It looks great and she had fun playing it. -
Bitches, stop being so melodramatic. Everybody knows that Sonic is the greatest of all time, anyway. *runs*
-
This. Plus, we've waited for so long for this anyway. Waiting even longer for a WiiU version would be really, really pushing it. Do it cross platform or something, make it available for both 3DS and WiiU from Day1.
-
If you're not sure on that deal, just check HotUKDeals daily/twice daily and you'll eventually get something similar to that. There's been some amazing ones so far, I bit at around £299 or something for mine, Shorty paid under £340 for his (I think) with InFamous. I have no idea what Tomb Raider is like on both, as the PS4 version was the only one I played. I went in fresh, cuzzz. There's tons of videos on youtube and the Definitive Version does look lovely in comparison. But, if you've already played it, be sensible and wait for it to really come down in price and pick it up then. As for other cross-gen stuff, from what I've seen on YouTube and what I've read, it just makes sense to go for the next-gen versions of stuff like WatchDogs, the next FIFA, Alien Isolation, etc. I'm going to get murdered on FIFA. I've not played it for years as the last version that I owned was...2008. I played 09 on the Xbox360, think I played 10 on the 360, too...although I didn't own either. Had the demo for 13 on WiiU and didn't like it. Finally, got the demo for 14 on the PS4 and really like that one. 15 looks like it's going to be a great edition.
-
Dazzybrah, I fucking love Tomb Raider, am always on the demo for FIFA14 and have pre-ordered FIFA15 already. Think Drahkon is getting it, too. Here's a great deal. Basically, you get a PS4, inFAMOUS (or however the feck you spell eet), 90days PS+ and Amazing Spiderman BluRay. There's a code that you can input to get money off that will take this to just under £340. Everything is explained in the link. The downside is that you can only input the code when the World Cup Final is on. Very clever. That's a good deal, imo.

What a ridiculous comparison. Mario is nothing like Transformers.

General Gaming Sales/Charts Discussion
Fierce_LiNk replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in General Gaming Discussion
The numbers may be comparable, but there's also the userbase behind the 360 and PS3, as well as the fact that many previous owners of those systems will have upgraded to the One/PS4. True, the numbers between the One/PS4 and WiiU aren't all that different, but when you incorporate some of the other factors, it goes against the WiiU. Particularly, the type of audience buying the PS4/One in comparison to the WiiU, the fact that the game isn't even available on the WiiU yet and the stuff that Daft pointed out. Had I not gone for another system, I would be in the same boat. It's a shit situation. As a fan, you want the big games to appear on the WiiU. I was pretty much sold on the PS4 as soon as I knew that Alien Isolation wouldn't be coming to WiiU. The WatchDogs delay was just the icing on the cake. It takes the piss really. I respect Nintendo fans for wanting to buy the game to help out the third party situation, but they're almost shooting themselves in the foot by doing this...especially when some of these games arrive later and/or without key features that appear on other versions. Why should we be given the "bad" versions of the games? I understand that Nintendo like to do things differently and are seen as this unique entity. That's brilliant. But, it also bites us in the arse because it means we don't get the same games that appear on the other systems, or the same experiences. The closest I can remember to feeling some sort of equality was with the GameCube. Probably the SNES, too. But, since the Wii, this has become worse. -
Haven't pre-ordered it yet and not really fussed on the beta, if I'm honest. Would rather just wait til release and play the fuck out of it then.
