  1. I think more people are into the Pro Clubs atm. Once there's an organised league, there will be more people up for it.
  2. I've got some school work to catch up with and have friends down on Friday. I'll be looking at organising things this weekend.
  3. I disagree. It starts off well in that regard but then falls very flat in that area around halfway through. Xenoblade was much more consistent from the very start to the very end, at least in terms of cut-scenes/cinematics, developing the characters and progressing the story.
  4. Happenstance has summed up my thoughts for me. Part of why I loved Xenoblade so much was because of the story and character development. You were all on a long journey together with tons of twists and turns. I didn't know what to do with my life when I finished that game. Skyward Sword was the exact opposite. It was probably the first Nintendo game in a long time which actually burned me. The story, character development, emotion and voyage of discovery was all missing. Xenoblade ticked all of the right boxes for what I wanted in a game. Cinematics are very important for me. It's part of the reason why Ocarina of Time blew my mind when I discovered that for the first time.
  5. I was mostly teasing, brah. It's been quiet on here in general, but there's usually a lot of people gaming, just not a lot of discussing. (I'm always seeing tons of people on Destiny, for example) The PSN downtime takes the piiiisss. On the whole, it's great. But, the last month or so has been quite stop-start. I wonder if yesterday's system update had owt to do with it or not, I dunno. It needs to be more stable because it's great when it all works. I think the PS4 will always be the slightly more expensive console, possibly because of the power under the hood. It may hurt more in the short term, but I'd always go for what makes you/me happier in the long-run. My WiiU cost around £199 and my PS4 cost £100 more than that, yet I've got way more time out of the PS4, so to me that represents good value. It's all about finding the right bundle, too. PS4 with Fifa, Minecraft, Infamous: First Light and Wolfenstein for £389 PS4 with Fifa and Minecraft for £359
  6. You're not really going to get much impartial advice here and I think you already know the answer before you came in, hence why you've posted in the PS4 thread rather than the One thread. :p We were probably in a similar boat you and I, as I too had a choice between the PS4 and One, although I was more heavily inclined towards the PS4 from the start and little was there to sway me. Imo, the PS4 has a good community here. I'm on it daily and when I'm on in the evenings, I can see the likes of @kav82 doing Destiny/party chat and then there's usually between 4-8 of us on FIFA15 doing the Pro Clubs. There doesn't seem to be much of a One community here, and there won't be because there's not many users here with that system. Some of the users who have the One also have the PS4, and I think there's two or three users who either recently got it or are waiting for it. The XBone deals are probably cheaper (without Kinect? I don't know, I do'nt really look), but there's also some good prices for the PS4 now, too. I'd say both represent good value for money and at the moment there's not a lot of difference in games between the two systems, although hopefully things will kick on in 2015. Both have great futures and I'm particularly excited to see how the PS4 grows. If you're getting a system with FIFA and you want to join in with people from here, you'll probably looking at the PS4 rather than the One. We'll be starting the league very soon, too. The One community will definitely grow, if only because there are some hardcore gamers here who will want to own everything, but there's not much of one at the moment. The majority of us here own PS4s. I don't know the deal with Minecraft as I don't play it or PGA, so I cannae help you there. One thing I will say is that I paid £299 for my PS4 around April-ish, somewhere there. I've definitely got my monies worth and it's my primary console. I considered that a good deal at the time and I think there's probably better deals than that if you look for them. I seem to recall you posting an incredible offer the other week.
  7. We should be all be uniting to defeat the common enemy here. I'm tired of your shit, BlueShell.
  8. That makes a lot of sense and it's similar to some of the programs that I've seen before. I already knew of Stronglifts but wasn't sure if there was a bit more to it than that. I like the pattern that it follows: Legs, chest/shoulders, back. So, they're each getting hit three times a week. I like the idea of working the legs three times a week. For me, I'd probably have to make a few minor adjustments to get some of the other stuff in there, pull-ups for example. I'm going to give it a go, but I'll do maybe one or two accessory exercises to go with it. For example, dips on the Monday, Bicep curls on the Wednesday and Pull ups on the Friday, or something like that. I'm also thinking that maybe I should add in a fourth day to do each of those accessories, too? So, on the Saturday for example, doing pull-ups, biceps and triceps exercises, just to keep them ticking along, maybe ab work, too. Have you noticed visible improvements to your body whilst doing this? My two areas of focus at the moment are legs and shoulders.
  9. Hmm, I may look into that. So, you work out three days a week, but it's all full body? Do you feel that enough attention gets paid to shoulders, for example, when you do it? What's the volume like, is there a lot to get through in each workout? You could try it and swap it up. I'm sure once a week won't hinder the squatting progress.
  10. Well done, that's a shit load of weight. Do you do full body workouts? If so, I guess you could hit bench first and then legs second, you'd be able to go all out on bench but you'll probably have to go lighter on squats. I've been shoulder pressing first and then hit bench second or third, in an attempt to get my shoulders to grow. Grind, grind, grind. And yes, I do find that I bench much less if I'm doing something else first. It's all about priorities though, if you know that you need to pay more attention to the legs, then always go with them first. Couldn't work out yesterday or today because I've had a very sore upper back/neck. Not sure what I've done exactly but it's very fucking uncomfortable. Gutted because I was raring to go.
  11. You and me both, brah. I can't remember how I did it exactly. Let me just turn the PS4 on so I can give you some help. Right, here's what I think I did to get the club. Use the shoulder buttons to take you to the "Online section" and then select Pro Clubs. There should be an option to Search Clubs, you might need to use the shoulder buttons to get there. From there, you can do one of two things: 1. Go to customise. Search for the followed N Europe United (make sure the capitals are there) and at the bottom where it asks for positions wanted, select "Any". Click start search and you'll be taken to our page where you can join. or 2. It'll say Friends' Clubs and you should be able to join from there by just clicking on N Europe United, provided that you have some of us added from N-Europe.
  12. He would be right though and I think that's one area we both agree on. (also, he loves Super Metroid and anybody with taste obviously does) Even still, those Miyamoto demos looked very, very raw and as for Starfox, what did we see exactly? There are no doubt many of those that are look good already, but some of those look like they need a lot of work. If they come out and they're good games, then fair enough. At this stage, I think a lot of gamers are well within their right to be dubious, especially because we've been waiting for some decent usage of the gamepad's abilities and...Miyamoto's contributions did not inspire confidence. I think we'll have to agree to disagree on that one. There's no buzz whatsoever with The Devil's Third, either before E3, during it or after. It's very, very low on the list of priorities in terms of what's out there. How many people mention it on this forum? Nobody is talking about. All we can do is judge it at its current state and so far it's not looking great. It could still turn out fine, that's not the dispute here, the issue is whether it should be on our "what to look forward to" list because there's no real signs of quality there or nothing that sets it apart from the crowd. Look at No Man's Sky, it was unique from the start and it automatically shot to the top of many people's lists, even though there wasn't a lot of it shown. Exclusives are important, but it's still important to look at the bigger picture. Both systems are still new and both have long lifespans ahead of it. In the end, it probably will come down to exclusives for those ones (people who prefer Halo will get an Xbox and people who want something like The Last of Us will get a PS4, that sorta thing. Gran Turismo and Forza, etc). That first bit is very debatable! We could be here all night with that one. I'd also imagine that many would argue that Nintendo don't have the same pulling power that they once did, so they'd miss those exclusives much less. I could happily live without Kirby, Yoshi, Donkey Kong and...probably Mario Kart, too. Especially if that Battle Mode never gets fixed. You probably don't care because ignorance is bliss. Anyway, I'm done. I enjoyed that Dazzy and I respect you for taking the time to post all of that...I know we both waffle on. See you on Fifa, brah.
  13. Doesn't look like it. Hope that's the next thing to come.
  14. Imo, it plays really well. I wasn't a fan of the PS1,PS2 or PS3 controllers in the past but I'm in love with the PS4 pad. The sticks actually feel really comfortable there, to me anyway. You may want to invest in some grips, because a few from here have done that. I've gone in raw and I've had no issues. Is that the PS4 version, brah? You could join our team! Don't worry, we're all shite, aha.
  15. I really enjoyed yesterday! Especially how we finally had enough players to properly take over from the computer. I enjoyed going as a full back although my pro isn't built for it at all. He's pretty good in central midfield because he can knock others off the ball and usually my tackle stats are decent (I can get forward well, too). To be a full back, he's too slow and it's harder to bomb up and down the wings. It was so awesome, though. We're close to having a full 11 now! The only area I'm sceptical about is in goal, because I'm not sure how well one of us would do there. But, it might make it quicker to start counter attacks as the cpu is soooo slow at taking the goals kicks or dispersing the ball. Loved it. Mooooar.
  16. The update is pretty cool. I'm not sure if I'll use SharePlay much, but at least the opportunity is there...ooooh, I wonder if I can try it out with Injustice? That would be lovely. The themes are nice, I particularly like the paper one. It was a pain in the arse trying to find them on the PSstore on the PS4, so I tried online with my laptop and found them there, then downloaded it to the PS4 that way. Much better. Also, being able to upload the clips to YouTube is a massive yes. Ine's been making this compilation video of stupid deaths in Assassin's Creed, so she can put that online when it's done. I hope they continue to add more themes in future. I've had a look at what themes you could get for the PS3 and there's loads! Bit gutted I missed out on that system now.
  17. I'm not a fanboy at all, I'm a lover of games and I want to play as many great games as possible. If anything, I'd say that I'm neutral at the moment, having previously being very pro-Nintendo. What? Do you even read, brah? I questioned the one-game-a-month comment and I questioned whether some of these would even be out next year because we have very little information on these. Or, what we saw was very rough, like those Miyamoto demos. I'll post again what I said about third parties: "Also, it's not blind to have faith in third party support because it encompasses a lot of different companies/developers/publishers over a vast array of genres. It's not just EA, it's also the likes of Bethesda, SEGA, Ubisoft, etc. Even if we say that this year has been quiet for the PS4/One, there's still big hitters like Destiny, Shadow of Mordor, Assassin's Creed Unity, Far Cry 4, etc that have come out or will be out this year. There seems to be this myth that only Nintendo knows how to make a quality game which is absolutely not true, especially these days. " Third parties basically encompasses a shit load of developers and publishers and they cover a wide range of genres. That's a lot of games we're talking about then, even some of the ones that we already know about like Battlefield: Hardline, Arkham Knight, The Witcher, The Order, etc. There's a lot of high quality titles out next year, I don't exactly know what you're trying to say. Maybe you're severely underestimating the amount of developers or publishers who are out there... Sorry, Daz. No Nintendo fan gave a flying fuck about this game until it became an exclusive. I'd go as far as to say that very few actually even knew about it until that happened. Of course I'm judging a game based on what is shown, what else is there to judge? It's like No Man's Sky, you judge based on what you see and the general perception/hands on from those in the know. One is a game that is perceived as one of the most anticipated around and the other is The Devil's Third. What's wrong with saying that a game isn't looking great at the moment? It needs a fuck ton of work done to it and maybe then it'll turn out decent, who knows. But, at the moment, it doesn't look good at all. Nowt wrong with saying that. There's that, but then The Last of Us did come out very late on in the PS3's life. Technically, neither are exclusive to the One or PS4 (since you can get them elsewhere), although I don't generally care for those kinds of arguments anyway, I just find it funny that some get hung up on it. Both can have good games out for them, yes. But, what I was driving at earlier is the importance of third party support. There's going to be a shit ton of games in the next year that just won't make their way onto the WiiU, it's already happening with the likes of Destiny, Metro, Assassin's Creed, Fifa, etc, and the gap will continue to grow wider. That's mainly what I was talking about in reference to Paj's post. I'll refer to my original post again: "Answering one of your earlier questions about third party support being limited: The answer to that is yes, it is. Third party support is all but drying up. If you do buy the WiiU, you'll be buying it for the Nintendo games because there will be very little else out there, apart from the few third party games which arrived early on. If you're buying it for the purpose of playing Mario Kart and Smash Bros with couch multiplayer, you should be ok and get by with it." which answered Paj!'s post here: "With Smash Bros having reignited by interest in both gaming and Nintendo I have been toying with getting a Wii U ... But I would LOVE if you guys could advise/tell me things. Best offer out there? Is the stable of games as tiny as it looks? (I understand third party support was limited...) Is it a good price point? What do I "need" to have a satisfying console experience - like memory, controllers etc? Do I need a big fancy tv for it? By this I mean a television bought in last five years. Games I'm interested in ; MK8, Smash Bros Wii U, Hyrule Warriors Vague I know but I need to think about it seriously and can't tell if I just want to impulse buy something or if this is something I want. Bear in mind: I've never been a serious gamer and always had the Nintendo console. I'm a Nintendo fan at this point and I get what it entails. " I've bolded the parts to make it obvious which sections I was addressing in my posts. Not sure where you're getting the nostalgia line from. Fifa is probably my most enjoyed, most played game of the year, too. Still mid-tier. Are Hyrule Warriors and Captain Toad in the same bracket as Smash? I wouldn't say so, but that's fine because you need a balance. You need the high quality games (Zelda, Mario Kart - minus the abysmal battle mode) and the ones that aren't as high but are still good (Kirby, Yoshi). Like you already said, not every game is going to be genre-defining and not every game is going to be in that top tier of game, it's stupid to think that. But, you would certainly expect some to fall into that bracket, otherwise all you have is mediocrity. I don't see how that can be argued against. Um, what makes me think Nintendo can't? Because...they haven't for many years? It's been a decade since F Zero GX (only Nintendo in licence, thanks to SEGA/Amusement Vision for the hard work) and Super Metroid was very special and also a very long time ago. There's nothing really on the horizon that truly shows that Nintendo have the capacity to do those types of games, except for Zelda, which we didn't see enough of to judge properly. At the moment, it's all ifs and maybes. Agree with both of these points. I haven't proof-read my post because I was eating my tea and typing. Aw well. Sorry for the long post, there were lots of bits to quote and reply to.
  18. I thought we played well in general, it's the CPU letting us down. I'm pretty sure that none of the goals conceded last night were actually as a result of what we did. The dream would be to get 11 vs 11! I'll be on from about 20 past 7. Ine and I have just got home and we're cooking our tea. Prawn noodles, fuck yeah.
  19. Wuh? You posted 12 games and claimed that Nintendo would be releasing them once a month, despite the fact that all that we have seen for some of these games have been tech demos (at best). Not even sure if we've seen anything at all for Mario Party 10. You gave an incorrect fact and I simply corrected you. Of course, if Nintendo could get 1 game out on their system a month, that would be good. I would be delighted if Xenoblade arrives next year. Zelda, too, although we still know nothing substantial about that yet. There are some massive gamers on here that play exclusively on Nintendo systems. However, there are also many (over the years as well) who have left Nintendo, partly why there is such a huge following in the other consoles boards. I don't see an awful lot of difference between their output last generation and this generation. We've still got Smash Bros and Mario Kart on both, Kirby games, platformers, New Super Mario Bros on both, etc. There's a like for like on both systems, e.g. ZombiU on WiiU, RE4WiiEdition, Dead Space Extraction on Wii. The balance and output is roughly the same. Who said about everything having to be the best ever? All I simply said was that I wasn't sure if Nintendo could achieve that genre-defining status again. Not every game they have made is Super Metroid, it's split into tiers, isn't it? There's the top tier games like Smash Bros, mid-tier games like Hyrule Warriors, low-tier like Mario Party and then there's the absolute god-tier which is reserved for the likes of Ocarina of Time, Super Metroid, Metroid Prime, F Zero GX, etc. My argument is the same, I don't know if Nintendo have it in them to make a game like Super Metroid again, all it takes is one or two games like that on a console to change it from something that's average to an unforgettable system. What does everyone talk about when you mention the word "Dreamcast"? Soul Caliber, Shenmue, those types of games, the ones that actually stand the test of time.
  20. My facebook has gone quiet on this front, too. :p Did anyone else hear about Senzo Meyiwa's death? How horrible.
  21. Oh cool, I'd love to know the release dates of Xenoblade, Zelda, Star Fox, Project guard, Project Giant Robot, Mario Party 10 and Splatoon. It's not exactly one a month like you're claiming. What you've done is wrote down the names of 12 games that may (or may not be) coming out in 2015. Somewhere in 2015. Not one a month. You can't take the total of games that have arrived this year and divide that by 12 and call that x amount of games a month.
  22. I'm basically drowning at the moment. I'm hooked on FIFA (particularly the Pro Clubs mode) and then Alien Isolation during the night time. I can't find the time for this and Destiny, let alone the last two month's worth of PS+ games. I've made a deal with myself not to buy any more games until I've cleared the current round. I really, really want that dynamic weather and part of me is probably not going balls-deep into this game until that comes.
  23. C'maaaan, some online focus? What is this, 2006? Virtually every game out there is online these days, why is it being touted like it's some magical feature when a Nintendo game has an online mode? The pedigree may be good but good companies still have the potential to make bad games and so far it looks terrible. Where is this one game a month drivel coming from? Either way, it'll probably be the last big racing game to come to the WiiU and the game has still had lots of delays and set backs. By the way, what's wrong with Drive Club, I love it. I can see that being the type of game that has a cult following. (off topic: It's funny, but Titanfall and Forza are talked about like they are killer apps, yet both have games on the 360. Yet, The Last of Us Remastered can't be counted as a killer app) Imo, the best two games that I've played this year have been on the PS4. Alien Isolation and The Last of Us. Even if a lot of the games also appear on the One/PC, they're still there on the system. It's still early days (like you said, one year) and to many, the system feels like it's only getting going. If it's anything like last generation, we'll be playing games on it for the next 6 or 7 years, possibly more. (given the fact that there are still PS3 and 360 games coming for those systems) The WiiU won't last that long. Also, it's not blind to have faith in third party support because it encompasses a lot of different companies/developers/publishers over a vast array of genres. I dunno, I personally don't think that these titles are anywhere near as exciting or genre-defining as games that Nintendo have done in the past. To me, that's the worrying thing about Nintendo. I don't think they're capable of producing anything that changed gaming like Super Metroid or Starwing again. I find it disappointing that Captain Toad and Kirby are being treated as some sort of huge games for the system because they look mid-tier at best. Xenoblade looks like a top, top-tier game, Zelda should be there, too. Starfox...had the strangest announcement at E3. We got zero information on that one, it was pretty poor in my eyes. A bit disrespectful for a franchise that many once held so dear. Edit: On the subject of disrespected franchises and racing games...WHERE IS MY F ZERO, NINTENDO? F Zero GX was 11 years ago. Wow...
  24. Lol, you are so fickle, Dazzy. I laughed at the bolded part. This isn't like the Vita where there's going to be no support for the system, this is the leading console for this generation. :p
