Well it might be louder if it runs faster. But then it runs faster - which speaks for itself. which is more important; speed or low noise output?

I honestly think that humans need physical and mental contact with other human beings wether it be male or female. Id would go nuts if i was left on my own forever ;(

Check your batteries are in completely you might have had one dislodged by the sounds of it

Okay, are you getting any blue screens? Can you run it from the battery? It might be that the power source has been damaged so that it doesnt get enough power to start the OS.

did your power supply get damaged by any chance?

The motherboard is socket 775 and so is the chip. The board is an ATX board.

Well i've already achieved quitting smokin, and i rarely drink now, so just being able to carry them on will do me fine. Saving would be nice, but yeah, in reality that wont happen :P I said exactly the same before i started working. And it never happened

Bundles are also a good idea if you arent too sure about choosing bits. X-Case Bundles There are some really good value ones there, not exactly high spec, but in your price range and fix it all together and wham-bam a new pc for half the price of buying.

That motherboard is fantastic, i was lookin at it myself. And ddr2 ram is reasonably priced, added bonus. Seems like an awesome deal if you have the time and patience to fit it together yourself.

haha i so agree with the pc world ad, most of the electrical retailers are like that. they make me angry ¬_¬ fake ads like life insurance and these debt payment schemes. And QVC the 24-hour advertisement channel. but it makes me laugh watching these idiots trying to sell crap 90% of ads make me cross to tell you the truth. shino - your sig is fab, i love the font, and how you kept to a really rich & pure colour scheme with the golds reds and browns. I agree with meroigo about the text above shino, i think it clashes with the gold stripe its sits on top of. but a fantastic sig nevertheless. 9.5 out of 10 edit: oopsie sorry skarmachild...i like your sig its simple and colourful, but could do with your name on it somewhere 8/10

i bought B&W2 for 19.98 at game last weekend.

Upgrading will probably be a bit difficult and maybe more expensive (depending on how old the motherboard is) If you have the experience to build a PC thats definately the way. But if you do decide this route be warned it can go nasty very easily as i found out a few times. And if you trash a card/chip etc youve got yourself a very expensive piece of useless plastic/metal. Have a look at the websites for some major computer dealers see what prices they are doing. celeron/duron = less performance but more efficient on energy. athlon/pentium = faster but more sucks a lot of energy. go for as high a ram and hd as you can go, i guess its a matter of how much stuff you wanna put on it and how hard you wanna push it, buttbh with a budget like that you wont get a hard hitting super flying machine.

Could the driver be corrupt? Check your device manager control panel > Admin tools > Comp management > Device manager Have you tried looking at the power settings on your laptop? Some laptops have their own power management, try that... or maybe Control panel > Power options...maybe theres something been changed there? Edit: Have you had any blue screens? It also could be that the power supply is damaged, and the computer isnt gettin enough power. I'm sure they get easily damaged, i've dropped mine god knows how many times
