You can get tools that will write all/some of the ram files to the "virtual disk" (if your low on space) and your computer will fall on its butt, takes a good 30 seconds to get moving again. Virtual memory is useful, just not in that sort of terms. If you need more ram, you need more ram, there isnt too many ways of cheating it.

Yeah, i figured i'd lose some quality with conversion. Glorified dinner ladies do have their uses then thanks a lot.

half of the processes you are looking at are probs drivers and config files that you need to keep running. the ones you worry about are the ones that take up the majority of your ram and proc time. (cpu and mem usage). with msn & wmp (and virus programs etc) i have 51. EDIT: The ones at the top that take the majority are the ones you need to check. Background tasks won't affect it too much unless youve got hundreds of them.

mhm i can vouch for that, its an awesome processor. Don't spend a fortune on a proc that'll go out of date in a couple of months!

It may be overheating just cus its a powerful system! Try leaving the case open and doing what you normally do. If it works you can be pretty sure its overheating sumwhere.

I had an invite that failed to work ¬_¬ msn 7 is as crappy, im beginning to wonder if they just threw out any old crap from the amount of upgrades/fixes that ive had to download! Trillian is good, but the tranfers are quite slow and theres not all of the features msn has.

if the main account works fine pull off the files in teh my docs/desktop area and delete the profiles, and recreate new ones.

Theres a beta and theres completely un-useable.

couldnt have said it better myself. The beta doesnt add new contacts right, and crashes all the time, and is just generally crap.

Any blue screens? is the psu faulty or low in wattage? Thats a lot of power you'd need for all the graphics/ram etc! My old 'puter died out all the time...turns out it was only 300w psu....doh! And yeah good idea to check the temperature aswell, as Jonst said.

Why not get a SLI one like teh A8n-sli deluxe mobo if you want two gpus - its one hell of a motherboard!

2gb ram is most definately enough. My computer has never even used half of that,even when playing f.e.a.r. You can always upgrade later on
