  1. Even if Sakurai only found out about Fire Emblem Switch at the same time as the rest of us did (which is very unlikely), that's still a year a and a half ago, plenty of time to develop FE characters.
  2. Announced before of after the nine new Fire Emblem characters coming to Smash Switch?
  3. I agree. Obviously this year they're relying on stuff that either isn't for everyone or Wii U ports. Suspect the second half of the year will be a lot more impressive though January: ? February: Bayonetta March: Kirby April: Labo May: Donkey Kong Country TF, Hyrule Warriors June: Mario Tennis Aces, Wolfenstein, Sushi Striker July: Octopath Traveler, Captain Toad August: Yoshi? September: Smash? October: Fire Emblem? November: Pokemon? December: ? + things like Dark Souls, Splatoon 2 Octo Expansion coming this year and Metroid Prime 4. Looks like another packed year. Oh and Nintendo are focusing on 2018 games at E3, so add a couple more last minute reveals from that.
  4. Not a Labo fan then?
  5. Played and finished Old Man's Journey this morning. It's a little pricey for a game that's about an hour and a half long, but it's also one of the prettiest games I've ever played. Gorgeous visuals and animation with a touching story. Very pleased to have experienced it. It's on Switch/PC/iOS. The devs said because the Switch version did so well they're thinking of porting it to other consoles.
  6. That was a misconception when they first talked about this before the Switch launch, it's since been clarified that isn't the case.
  7. Sorry I should have been clearer, games-wise I would absolutely agree with you. I was talking more about the stage show as a spectacle. I wish Sony would do something similar because unlike Microsoft they actually have the games to make it great.
  8. I can't think of any of their big studios that hasn't already announced what they're working on. It's what happens when you announce so many games multiple years in advance, you run out of material to show later down the line. New hardware being a couple of years away doesn't help either. I see your point about not liking deep dives, if I'm already sold on a game I'll just ignore it but what they show of Spiderman could sell me on it. I still think Microsoft put on a great show last year. Sony actually have big exclusives and could put on a great show in that format, but sadly doesn't seem they're interested.
  9. Dreams and Days Gone probably the big casualties if they're not featured on stage. From Shawn Layden: Monday, June 11th 2018, details coming soon Exclusive looks and deep dives on 4 upcoming Sony World Wide Studios titles Death Stranding Ghosts of Tsushima Spider-Man The Last of Us Part II Highlight on indies 3rd party publishers (as usual) No hardware announcements at E3 2018 (PS5 reference?)
  10. That sounds exactly what it'll be like sadly. Maybe Sony just doesn't have much new AAA stuff to announce since their first party line up this year and next is crazy. They were already struggling to show much new stuff last year. Maybe everything other than Spiderman, Last of Us, Death Stranding and Ghosts of Tsushima is years away and will be on PS5 so the lower key E3 presence to focus on 4 big games is a reaction to that.
  11. I said a while back, I think the age of traditional press conferences is coming to an end and Sony and Microsoft will soon be following Nintendo's lead. I didn't think it would happen so soon though. The signs were there last year tbf, all Sony did was play a sequence of trailers that absolutely didn't need a stage presence.
  12. There's no "error in my reasoning" because I'm offering my subjective opinion. Thats why I said "I kind of wish it were more expensive and offered more." At the moment it's better value than NES Virtual Console but I personally would rather have more than just those games.
  13. So you could get 5 NES games using the Virtual Console model on Wii U for around £18. Now you can get 4x as many (and possibly more if they don't remove some each time they add new content) for the same price, as well things like online, cloud saves and "discounts". I kind of wish it was more expensive and offered more things like SNES and N64 games. I'd gladly pay £30 a year for a Netflix like service with those two consoles + GBA maybe. The family bundle makes it even cheaper!
  14. 20+ online-enabled NES games for £18 a year is crazy good value, never mind the cloud saves, discounts and online stuff. NES games on VC would cost, what around 5 quid each?
  15. The ARMS demo is very welcome, I'm very tempted to pick the game up. Just wish they put more effort into single player stuff.
  16. Nice visuals will definitely give this a go
  17. Can't wait for this. Please be good.
  18. I use my Switch in tabletop mode on the train every two or three times a week so this will be perfect for that.
  19. Steve definitely the smarter business move, for both Nintendo and Microsoft. Banjo in Smash would earn Nintendo a handful of points from long time fans, but the game is already full of fan service. Steve would target a new demographic of younger gamers that maybe haven't grown up with their systems. And anything that makes Minecraft even bigger than it already is would be a win for Microsoft.
  20. Splatter Royale mode
  21. Probably items on until the final again. I imagine Nintendo will want to show the game off as much as possible, including items.
  22. I can easily see @Julius Caesar's suggestion of Steve from Minecraft happen, if Xbox plays nice that is. Would be a huge get for Smash, given the popularity of the game.
  23. "Intentionally misleading in order to troll?" Says the man who suggested I was 25% wrong in my figure? If you're going to accuse others of misleading information, at least make sure your own posts are accurate. Why do you feel the need to pop on the Nintendo boards and start utterly pointless arguments where none was necessary? The previous time with @dazzybee a few months ago, now this. It's arguing over such small things. I made a mistake, I was off by 10 pence, apologies everyone. Sorry @Julius Caesar, I won't say another word on this.
  24. I went off the US price because that's the only price I had to go on at the time, and did the maths in my head. Apologies everyone, when I said £1.40 a month sounded good to me, I should have said £1.50 a month sounded good to me. A whopping 10 pence more a month than I suggested. There we go. Was it really worth arguing over?
  25. I was going off the US price. The UK price is £18/year, so £1.50 per month, 10 pence more a month than the above.
