Disappointing but commendable they're putting the work in to make it release in a great state. Plenty more indie games to play on Switch in the mean time. Might give Blossom Tales or Floor Kids a go next...
-
Funny how many of us are saying Kamiko given it was only like four quid before the sale lol I just don't think I'll play it that much tbh, but I might give it a go
-
Floor Kids, Kamiko, Elliot Quest for me and I'm also very tempted by ARMS...
-
Definitely getting No Man's Sky vibes from this. Seems a very shallow experience and probably could have done with another year of development.

This is easily one of the most stunning games I've ever played but it also makes me want to throw the controller through the tv. The controls are simply awful. Horseback traversal is PAINFUL, the way it slows down at time for no good reason. Why does your character take two minutes to stand back up after being knocked to ground. It's lots of little things like that that make you feel as though you're wrestling with the game, not just the colossus. Anyway, apart from all that, it's really terrific. About to do the final one… (having had to start all the way back at the shrine, twice, because I didn't realise you needed Argo to leap that gap getting to it. It's like playing Zelda II again. Edit: Somehow fell down the chasm because of crappy controls. Now I start all the way back at the shrine once again. Another 5 minutes to waste getting back there. Joy.

Over 12 months, Switch is the fastest selling console in history in the US, beating PS4 and Wii
-
Mostly older ones? There's tons of new games released every week, not to mention a Direct that just showed off loads more. It's just the old ones make for better headlines because of how critically acclaimed they are. Devs are desperate to port their games to Switch.

Terrible news about Hollow Knight, but smart to get it out before the presentation. Sounds like it's still a long way off, otherwise why would they want to miss today's showcase?
-
Have to say I really love these 6 month showcases, the first two have been packed full of great games and the pace is such that even if you're not interested in something, you only have about 30 seconds to wait until the next game. Nintendo (and Microsoft tbf) are doing a great job curating and promoting indie titles.
-
Oh yeah forgot about it being a Microsoft exclusive, doh. Looks absolutely stunning. Not interested in one man's politics though tbh.

Hoping for things like Spelunky (1 or 2), GNOG, Swords of Ditto, The Last Night, Guacamelee 2, Chasm

Nice!

That's insanely clever, not to mention all the free advertising they'll get when YouTube is flooded with great inventions Comes included in both kits

Part of the Variety kit

Also this looks great. I played it at EGX...

Hopefully this sells well so they make a sequel -
Dusted off my PS4 and started this last night having never played the original. What a STUNNING game, even if all the colour seems to have been sucked out of it. That's part of the charm I guess. One of the most technically impressive and beautiful games I own on PS4. I've done 3 colossi, and they were very impressive looking, the third one especially. Such a shame the controls are a nightmare, feels like I'm wrestling with them at the same time as wrestling with a colossus. Still loving it so far though

I'm waiting for the Swords of Ditto to be announced as coming to Switch. IGN asked the devs at last year's E3 (the now standard "is it coming to Switch?" question indies seem to get asked every two minutes). They said because it was made in GameMaker, it had to be PS4 and PC only. BUT, Switch now supports GameMaker as of a week or so, so fingers crossed...

He's big on Kart, Captain Toad, Smash etc Mario was his GOTY over Horizon, he loved Zelda and yeah as an indie machine there's no comparison really. -

And didn't he let us know about said wisdom. Couldn't go two seconds without piping up. I don't watch anything he's on anymore, with a couple of exceptions like Kinda Funny's reacts vid. Andy isn't realy hardcore enough and to be fair is only on their games shows very rarely. Greg seems to spend half of his time head down in his laptop making notes, he misses so much, really strange. He may not have the history with Nintendo (apart from Mario Golf lol) but he's all in on the Switch which is nice to see as a hardcore Playstation guy. -

Kinda Funny's live reaction was great. (Apart from Jared annoyingly jumping on the bandwagon) -
Nice to see a single player post-release content in a shooter

You're new to Nintendo right?

Hey Pikmin wasn't developed by Nintendo. Miyamoto has said Pikmin 4 is a different game
