  1. I really really want to play this but I think I'm going to resist. Been spending a lot of money recently and need to save a bit of cash. Hope you all enjoy it though
  2. I think @Hero-of-Time made this point a while back, the eShop is a big winner without a Virtual Console and they're clearly wanting to focus on modern games from talented developers than keep pushing the same games of their own.
  3. I suggested a while back that Microsoft and Sony would probably follow Nintendo's move to a Direct style presentation at E3, but didn't expect it to happen so soon. That said, can anyone really be that surprised? Their last two or three E3 conferences have been rehashing the same games over and over, and they're clearly winding down the PS4 software wise. Like last year they probably just don't have much new to show to warrant an entire conference. They've obviously had a great 2018 and a couple of big games to come next year as well, but everything else is probably PS5 bound and there's only so many times you can show Dreams, Days Gone or Death Stranding footage. It'll be sad to lose their conferences but tbh, they've just been glorified trailer reels the last few years anyway, with almost zero stage presence so we won't really be missing much.
  4. I'm sure I'll get round to playing Astro Bot eventually but I'm in no rush and it doesn't look the kind of game that I need to buy a VR headset for. Plus I'm sure the next hardware revision will be a lot better, whenever that happens.
  5. Think I might just wait for v2 on the PS5. None of the games scream must play now!
  6. Basically. Have to agree with this, I love Charizard
  7. I'll try and sleep soundly tonight. It'll be a struggle for sure, but I'll try...
  8. Not so keen on the million eSports categories but I guess Geoff needs as much publicity as possible and that'll give him a big chunk audience wise.
  9. I hadn't even heard of Return of the Obra Dinn until now, will check it out. Still need to play The Messenger, it's on my Switch list. I thought Into the Breach released last year but I could be wrong. Still bitter Hollow Knight wasn't considered for this year. I'd really love it if no one refers to Josef Fares again. I dunno why him saying fuck the Oscars is being heralded as this incredible, god-like moment worthy of so much fanfare. I find the guy seriously annoying and up himself. Played Overcooked 2 online with a mate, it was ok. I found it got old really quickly tbh. Oh and agree re: Detroit, I'd much rather that had been nominated for GOTY over Spider Man. Crazy game that actually did something new (ish) in the industry. Edit: ok I've checked out Return of the Obra Dinn, not my kind of game lol.
  10. I've only really seen him in GOT, and he was good in that so...
  11. That was a wtf moment for me, really strange nomination.
  12. Down to £55, I couldn't resist... https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01K6PWYTI/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1
  13. Looks like they added an extra GOTY nominee this year, so all the expected ones made it.
  14. And? It’s getting great reviews. I think most people who buy this game will be well aware that it’s a simpler and more accessible approach to the concept, but that doesn’t make it worse, just different. More complexity doesn’t mean better, it probably turns a lot of people off when it comes to Pokemon, myself included.
  15. Very high scores! I’m sure most outlets gave the review to a Pokemon fan. Miranda Sanchez at IGN is a huge into it and she thought the game was great.
  16. Awesome! Another game I'd planned to play on PS4 but waited for a Switch port. Now just Peggle 2, Spelunky, Donut County and GNOG please...
  17. Just a shame about the most important part, gameplay.
  18. I think (and hope) that Spider Man will be the big casualty in the nominees, in no way do I consider that GOTY worthy. It's 87 on Metacritic is about right. It's an empty shell of an openworld, with nothing special about it, apart from traversal. It'll probably get nominated but I hope not. I suspect the nominees will be: God of War, RDR2, Assassin's Creed Odyssey, Celeste and Monster Hunter World... with God of War winning overall. Looking forward to hopefully seeing more In The Valley of Gods. Nintendo have started having a big presence there, so they'll have a couple of things lined up for sure. Metroid Prime 4 seems a safe bet, even if it's just a 1 minute teaser trailer. That's certainly the audience for it. I'd love to see Hollow Knight get some recognition but it's tricky cause it technically released last year on PC, it's just made a name for itself this year with the Switch (and later PS4/XBO) release. As for the show itself, Geoff does a great job but I really hope they don't skim through half the categories like last year. At one point he read out about 5 awards within the space of 20 seconds. But yeah, looking forward to it
  19. Yeah, no. No one is right or wrong, it's down to personal taste. I think they look great, you don't. If anything, this is how the Pokemon Company see them existing. They're the ones behind this movie and they'd never have allowed fur on Pikachu if they didn't envisage him having it. I never would have imagined a video game film, a live action Pokemon one at that, would have 416k upvotes and only 18k down.
  20. It's all subjective obviously. I think the above art style look like video game characters, because well they are. Not sure they would suit a live action film. Anyway Greninja, Psyduck and Charizard (I can only see scales, no fur?) look cool. My main issue with the look of them is... isn't Jigglypuff supposed to be pink?
  21. Weird, I thought they looked great!
