how's the online, I love the idea of some team stealth, how do the online games work?
-
isn't that gold NES Zelda cartridge worth a fortune, I'm sure I read that somewhere once, you might have just won the lottery.
-
to offer my thoughts on this debate. I would always welcome a game with multiplayer as an option, I was going to buy Sniper 2 until I discovered it did not have online multiplayer. I play Nintendo Land with the wife and kids and it's fun, but online with you guys could be epic. It goes back to the ago old problem that developers seem to think that everybody who plays Nintendo consoles are school kids. EA being the obvious example of a company that release dumbed down versions of games on Nintendo consoles then are shocked when they don't sell as well as other console versions .
-
i meant more to potential PS4 and Xbox1 purchasers. Nintendo need to make these people buy a Wii U this Christmas. How can you show two images on the same screen without it being split screen? Apologies if I'm being stupid here but I don't get that whatsoever.

it almost seems as if Arsenal are waiting to see if they qualify for the Champions League before sighing anybody. When I saw midfield three on Saturday of my first thought was "lightweight" i don't think the Spanish tic a tac style works in the Prem as it's a much more physical league. On another note just seen that Lewandowski is in the last year of his contract, Jose stop chasing Rooney and sign this guy, no way Dortmund are going to turn down £40 million if he's walking on a free in 6 months. really think the transfer market is going to explode in the last week of the window
-
i don't know if they still are but pro controllers have been £19.99 in HMV for a long time
-
Nintendo should market the hell out of this come November and through the Christmas period. "Wii U the only place to play Ghosts online for FREE" or "Wii U the only place to play local multiplayer without splitscreen" stuff like that. Activision are playing the "we're backing Nintendo" card but I can't help feeling they are also hedging their bets somewhat. This Christmas the next generation will be in full swing and as badly as Wii U has sold to date it will still have a circa 4 million install base head start on PS4 and Xbox1 so it really should sell more copies on Wii U than the newly released consoles. And if Nintendo are smart, market the game drop the price of the Wii U this could be the start of an upturn in the Wii U's fortunes.

General Gaming Sales/Charts Discussion
Clownferret replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in General Gaming Discussion
it was a generalisation, but makes the point. You have focused on the software comment and not the overall post. Sony in particular are very guilty of blatantly copying Nintendo hardware. I can't believe anybody would play bowling, golf or tennis on a controller after using the Wiimote and without Nintendo these new experiences would not exist. My overall point was that we would end up playing the same games, the same way for ever more. -
General Gaming Sales/Charts Discussion
Clownferret replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in General Gaming Discussion
the next 6 months - 1 year are critical for Wii U, Nintendo and gaming as a whole. With Wii Fit U and Wii Party U coming out before Christmas they have got to win back the Wii crowd, the console price has to drop to make PS4 and Xbox1 look like very expensive alternatives at launch and they really need to hi-light the negatives of the other consoles they way Sony did at E3. I sold my xbox to a friend a while ago and last week he asked me why he couldn't get online, I told him because Xbox isn't wireless so he would need to buy a £60 wireless adapter and then a £40 per year subscription to microsoft, he nearly fell over, and wen I pointed out that none of these costs apply to Wii U he decided to trade in the xbox and get Wii U. Plus as he already has a Wii and 5 kids i told him the Wiimotes are compatible with Wii U so he was saving another £200+ on controllers. If Wii U fails and Nintendo do decide to leave the home console business we will be left playing FIFA and COD for ever more on SNES pad version 6.7. Love or hate Nintendo the industry relies on the innovation of Nintendo hardware and software. -
i was playing some TW 12 on the Wii last night and it reminded of the golf game that was being shown on Wii U where you lay the gamepad on the floor and the screen shows the lie of the ball and you swing with the wiimote... what game was this, as far as I can tell there are no golf games either released or scheduled for Wii U so what was the demo?

Bruce Buck "we have Chelsea TV, Liverpool have the History channel"

Torres was never worth £50 million and just because Chesea paid it does not mean every player on the planet is now worth £50 million. Rooney's value is less because he wants to leave and his contract is running down. If Utd force him to stay this season then he is only 6 months away from signing for another club on a free. This summer has really pissed me off, all contracts should have release clauses in the future to stop all this nonsense

Why are Nintendo games so expensive?
Clownferret replied to Sheikah's topic in General Gaming Discussion
as somebody has already mentioned, games like FIFA & COD get frequent updates so the previous versions become outdated very quickly, Nintendo usually only release 1 version of a game per console so these games remain current throughout the consoles lifespan. That's why when you look at game sales, Nintendo's in-house games are usually the biggest selling. -
Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed Wii U
Clownferret replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
this was £7.99 in HMV for ages. I bought it once and traded it in at Games for £12 and then bought it again. I saw one guy buy every copy HMV had, went to game and traded them all in as a deposit for a PS4. -
i play offscreen pretty much all of the time, even if there's nothing on the box, I'll just have skysports news on tv in the background and play Wii U on the gamepad. I see Sony are scared of getting caught with their pants down again and are going to launch a PS4/Vita package.
-
i just don't see PS4 and Xbox1 doing big numbers either, sure there will be an initial uptake from the fanboy section, but after that are Joe public going to rush out and spend £400+ on a new console that does pretty much the same as the one you've already got but has a couple of new games and the graphics are a bit better. There has not been a very noticeable leap in graphics from the last generation to the next, certainly to the man in the street at least, and in these frugle times who is going to buy a new console to play COD when it's already available on the console you've got?
-
you're so right and you know what, for those of us who own a Wii U it's actually happy days, because of the negative BS and poor sales I have a massive collection of Wii U games a lot of which i got for under £15, 2 pro controllers for under £20 each, when PS4 and Xbox1 launch Wii U will suddenly seem a very, very cheap alternative. Nintendo have to make sure that COD Ghosts for Wii U is the full version so that it's a real alternative for people looking at a new console this Christmas.

Granted fella it is a bit sad when Falcao & Cavani both went to France as for a few years the big name signings all came to the Premier League I love that the league is much more open these days (who would have thought 4 years ago that Liverpool would be a Europa League team) and yes it would be a loss to the Prem for him to leave, but he has to be in the Champions League and that is why it was so important for Spurs to get 4th last season. The whole Bale/Suarez/Rooney fiasco is becoming irksome, surely the time has come that all contracts should contain a buy out clause, to stop all this nonsense. Look how quickly the Falcao and Cavani deals got done. Football as a whole needs a real shake up and player salaries and contracts are a big part of it.
-
@dazzybee my own opinion on Bale (and Suarez for that matter) is that contract aside, he is now an elite player and simply has to be in the Champions League. Tottenham are not in it this season and certainly can't offer any guarantees they will be next season either. From a neutral standpoint the prospect of Bale & Ronaldo bombing down the wings for Real is exciting beyond words.
-
Levy being Levy this deal will get done with 5 minutes of the transfer window remaining you'll get something like £60 million plus Modric but won't have any time to spend the money.

i know EA are saying they didn't make any money on FIFA 13 on Wii U but it must have sold in tens of thousands, so whilst I perhaps get that they don't want to invest in a fully fledged FIFA 14 for Wii U (don't get me started) but surely they can re-skin 13 for pennies.

i've just seen this thread, what is the plan? I'm only half hour from London and it would be good to meet some of the n-europe team.

Blocking Porn - Censorship or Child Protection?
Clownferret replied to Fierce_LiNk's topic in General Chit Chat
very good post. Why can't you just have a kids pc which is blocked and an adult pc which is not. blocking at isp level seems very draconian
