I was up for Ghost Trick last year so I'll try to be up for it again later this year! -

Here's more and the Direct is still going to be full of surprises. Muramasa! DQ Builders 3! (only chance is if DQ III features) Persona 3 + 4 Strikers! Fantasy Life on Switch! Ever Oasis on Switch! Tamodachi Life on Switch! Mario 3D Land with an Ice White Switch! Chrono Cross European physical release! Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasies, Sim City SNES and SimCopter 64DD on NSO! No Mercy...? Mario Kart 8 to receive Diddy and Dixie Kong plus the next tracks will have short cuts accessible through bob-ombable walls. And mission mode. Splatoon 3 VR mode. de Blob 3. Life is Strange 2 mention. A blowout on the Annapurna storytelling game... OutRun Coast 2 Coast Kid Icarus and Palutena for Fire Emblem Engage Rocky Wrench & Monty Mole X Sonny & Don Resetti Tingle Eternal Darkness Too Human And how far are we into the Switch now? Rhythm Tengoku and Switch Music, come on Nintendo. Just do it. I don't want to be a whine about it. Streams at the ready... -
In the face of another Direct, I downloaded data and updated the MK 8 software to try out the latest wave of tracks. Liked Boo Lake, Maple Treeway (still a nice place to be despite the pwnage dished out by @lostmario, @dazzybee, @RedShell and everyone back on the Wii), Merry Mountain and why could I not take my eyes off the track on 3DS Rainbow Road? It looked so good. The music on London Loop and Berlin Byways left a lot to be desired. Did they just source some stock music and call it a day? Seems like it. Those tracks flatter to deceive a bit because even with all the routes, you can't go anywhere except where it wants you to. Not expecting open world Mario Kart here but... you could go off road and head to the castle in MK 64 so a similar amount of freedom around those streets would be nice. You can't even hop up on the curb. The Bow-Wow in the Thames was shocking the first time I saw it. Like the city had been invaded or something.

Jet Set Radio would be great to see. Galaxy 2 is a good shout too. Maybe they will bring All-Stars out of retirement for another run. You mentioned DK... what about DK and his coconut gun firing in spurts all over the Fortnite island! With all the anime stuff in there, they could throw in Toon Link when they're at it. -

More likely than Golden Sun remasters, remakes, releases or sequels. On the horror front, I think there's a Fatal Frame coming that they'll give a throwaway mention to...? -

Some more: Castlevania DS games and new entry Mario Run on Switch Pocket Card Jockey Switch Ports of other 3DS eShop games Dragon Quest Swords Link's Shiekah Slate Swot Up — where you play on-rails versions of the shrines and korok "puzzles" for high scores. Ring Fit ring accessory and leg strap compatibility to be added in autumn. Mario Odyssey DLC Megaman info that leads into a new game The Zelda DS anniversary thing Haha. Honestly, I'm in that small camp (are there even dozens of us?) that's cool with whatever gets shown in the Directs. It's all good. Even if there's nothing I'm interested in, there's still plenty to tide me over until the back half of the year and whatever unknown releases that potentially brings. I thought twelve months ago they had a strong showing considering what point in the Switch's life we were at. Granted, I didn't get Three Hopes because I still don't have Three Houses, I couldn't get caught up in time for Xenoblade 3, ended up not getting Mario Strikers due to the lukewarm reception it got... but notwithstanding any of that, I enjoyed seeing these franchises be continued, and I'm just as curious about what they have in the pipeline this year. I particularly want to know how they're shaping it around Tears of the Kingdom. @Jonnas, I'd love to see a Wario platformer. The time is now! @Julius, I'd forgotten about Suikoden. I reckon it'll be in the reel too. @martinist, I just don't know if DQ III's next showing will be a Direct. Would love to see it tonight though. @Sprout, I'm not bothered about Kid Icarus but if they bring it, great for everyone that's into it! @Ashley, hope you don't show up a day late for your next flight................. -

Ye wha. They don't ring in the new year a day and a half in advance. -
Yep. I won't be surprised in the slightest if they pull this stunt again with TotK. Tbh, I thought it was a given.

Seems to be averaging a platform 9 3/4s out of 10.

Cryptic. Train games to be this Directs farming games? You don't need expectations but you can get hyped. There will be an Octopath trailer followed by... Kingdom Hearts: On Carts. Then with no fanfare it'll move on to Tales of Symphonia Remaster and DotNW to follow. Remember these other GameCube RPGs? Baiton Kaitos games. We go wild. Then what about this one? Skies of Arcadia Remake. The Internet goes down. -

Too soon for Fire Emblem, Warriors, Engage! So they'll open with an apology for spoiling Christmas with Sports Story. While I'm at it I'll scud a few more things. Rabbids Go Home Remake New Rabbids platformer Mario + Rabbids RPG Mario + Rabbids Street Hockey In-house DK platformer Is more content for DQ Treasures possible? Recycled Theatrhythm trailer Pikmin 4K and the New! Switch Dock. Advance Wars Re:boot Camp imminent release NES Remix Xenoblade 3 DLC info Next wave of MK tracks? Splatoon 3 next season and DLC info? A Link Between Worlds barebones port Thousand Year Door Super Metroid 2D-HD FF XIII Trilogy Metal Slug Tactics (PLEASE) An "impossible port" An update on the Disney racer Epic Mickey Breath of the Wild DLC added to the Expansion Pack Super Mario Sunshine in Power Wash Simulator F-Zero! No it's Nintendo Land. Last-generation Batman games. CoD Cloud Edition Galleon Sega Rally 3DS eShop Sale that's practically a giveaway. Oh, one more thing: Another Code Least likely of all: Animal Crossing (Paradise Planning outdoor decorating features on your main island) and Mario Maker updates. Etrian Odyssey. -

Even I know there's Play! Violin in Sonic and the Secret Rings. -
From here, translated from a muliplayer.it interview. Reminds me of the PSWii60 days when you got those big production games on the HD twins and a flash game on the Wii...

I'm all fingers and thumbs playing this. Even pressing the d-pad for the arrows sometimes. No idea where that's coming from. Not deterred in the slightest bit though. Went from II to XIII then circled back to V (had to resist reaching for the Micro and FF V cart when I heard that optimistic V opening) and took it in order through the rest. Liking the map presentation—would be cool panning through that on 3DS. Blinded By Light (XIII) is a good one that I didn't remember from the 3DS however it is in there, tucked away under the Encore list. Only played it half a dozen times (including once during this check) so stands to reason I wouldn't remember it. Could end up being one of my more preferred tracks on Final Bar Line. There's always a worry I won't be as fond of tunes from the FFs I don't know, with Defiers of Fate being the exception that proved the rule. Glad to say that hasn't been the case with the demo selection. I liked Hard to Miss (XIV) enough to make it the first one I tried on Ultimate... yup, a swift F. I'll get it figured out once my fingers and thumbs untangle themselves. As expected, the FF XV characters translated well to the Theatrhythm graphical style... if all you've played is the pocket edition like me.

https://www.square-enix-games.com/en_GB/news/theatrhythm-final-bar-line-demo Plenty there to whet the appetite. Nice selection of tunes from II, V and VII. Glad to see Defiers of Fate in the demo mix as it was one of, if not my most played track on the 3DS Theatrhythm. And I haven't even played FF XIII. An epic track with that FMV playing in the background. They knew to hold Battle on the Big Bridge back for the full game. During the livestream they said there will be no extra characters on top of what is already known. However, they're happy fans want to know about this... so does that mean they could add more at a later date if the demand is there? I dunno. Hadn't realised a character list was out so after some late-night web searching last night, it looks like my Crisis Core party won't be happening then. Onion Knight will have to band together with a bunch of misfits instead.
