Face recognition: what celeb face do you have?

Eh? Snoop Dog. Eminem and now Drew Barrymore?! -
My good lady freind has been paid late and as a result ended up with bank cahrges and charges made by a car credit company. I seem to remember that if this happens due to an employer not paying you on time the EMPLOYER is responsible for these charges. This might have been part of my employment contract and not legislation, i can't be sure - can anyone clarify this?

It would not surprise me if they're meeting loads of execs over the next few months. But Nintendo could take great advantage of this - a reasonably inexpensive game couldbe made and supported by Jolie and Pitt (who seems to tag along with anything Miss Tomb Raider does).

Assuming that Nintendo release their entire back catalogue of games for download from Revolution's launch day, what games will you be downloading? Me? SNES Mario Kart for sure, and Super Metroid. I should think the Mario series shall feature too!

white. I'll probably regret that when i get grubby fingers on the baton

Having looked at the fun but limited WiFi options on DS, i'm wondering if Nintendo will have more features for the Revolutions WiFi features. As I see it, DS WiFi needs to consider hotspots may have many people using the bandwidth and therefore cannot risk data being slowed (so only basic features will be used on DS). Rev is a home console and therefore users shouldnt be overloading the data traffic. thoughts?

Titles you'd like to see on Revolution
david.dakota replied to david.dakota's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Right with you there Rockhead! I've just been re-playing GX on the Cube, and by lordy its one of the best games out there. 30 racers over Wifi, huge world wide tournaments... surely it must be heaven! -
I think Nintendo might not actually unveil specs. There are strong rumours that Nintendo's visuals can equal the competitors', but with less powerful spec machine. If poor specs are released (even if visuals match Xbox 360 and PS3), it might backfire the way those pre-release 'honest' specs of GC!

I'm just wondering how people envisage playing some updates of Nintendo franchises. So, what do you want to see on Revolution, and how could it play?
-
DKC was indeed £60. As was Street Fighter on SNES. High priced games continued into the N64 era, with Turok a massive £60 also.

If Metroid Prime 3 was running on GC dev kits...
david.dakota replied to White_Wolf's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I seem to recall this was running on Gamecube hardware, which would indicate that Revolution will exceed these images. If you look at what the GC can push in RE4 and Zelda, we can be sure that it can run these images (although they're likely output in a higer def) -
Resi 4 GC/PS2 comparison pictures (56k No?)
david.dakota replied to Retro_Link's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Its pretty fair to say that the ps2 version is looking good. Tjos ewho will be playing the PS2 version will not notice the differences - infact a great many will beleive the PS2 is more powerful than GC, and thats something we can't change. I'm very pleased with how RE4 turned out on Cube, howveer, i'd definately love an Ada Assignment add on for Gc. Afterall, us Nintendo gamers do hark on about "game over graphics", don't we? -
As per title. I want to completle delete my msn profile. How do i do this?

Hopefully, Nintendo will keep the cost to the end user quite cheap. No dount with PS3 using Blu-Ray, disks will be VER expensive and perhaps a put off for consumers. If Nintendo can get a range of prices, from £25-40 it'll be in their best interests.

I don't think we'll see a great deal of NIntendo developed games using the Shell. Nintendo will want to show the developers how to use the innovative Baton, therefore its safe to say Smash Bros, Mario and Metroid for starter will fully utilise the Baton. I would love to see Pikmin designed for Revolution: To instruct a group of Pikmin, hold A and using your Baton circle a group of the little fellas, gliding the cursor to the chosen location - your Pikmin will follow and automatically carry out their chore. To select a particular colour, hold cursor on say, a blue Pikmin and then press B, circle the baton over a wider area and all Blue Pikmin within the circle will be at your beckon call. Surely, Pikmin is perfectly suited to the Baton?!

Hardly plug and play is it?!

The DS marketing strategy seems very strong, and in my opinion quite appropriate. The Late Night Channel 4 sponsorship is a good move, since these people DO have disposable income (and arguably appreciate different styles of programming - and in theory different games). Some high profile, prime time adverts for Nintendogs are also appropriate in some sales - staving off the PSP (playstation predator). Advertising in kids shows at this time of year would not increase sales by a great deal- in a month or so, kids shows should be prime advertising space for games (christmas season) and more attractive for Nintendo. Arguably, Nintendo need a true Pokemon game this season, with PSP snapping at DS's heals. Nintendo have missed a few tricks this generation. Lack of marketin key titles, Eternal Darkness, Metroid Prime, F-Zero and 1080 (all of which should have helped increase market share IMO). Nintendo also needs its third parties.

I'm forever doing that... GIEST... GEIST.... Thankfully, it wasn't a question on BBC's Test the Nation last night!
-
No chance. Even if NIntendo could make, distribute and promote each unit for $99, they'd have no further discounts to make. Its also very wise to have a high price to start with. In al honesty, Nintendo should release the console with perhaps 2 or 4 controllers at a higher price, say $200. See how it sells, and then in time for the next Christmas period release a version with one controller, at a lower price, $129
-
If you are getting a secondary console, which one will it be?
david.dakota replied to Dawn's topic in Other Consoles
Xbox 360 and Revolution for me. -
If you think about it, once you have the engine, models and other codes it wouldnt take too long to concentrate on story and hit the trilogy mark. Lets face it, Metroid Prime 3 could have just about made CG. I'm personally extremely hyped over Too Human - and (if i havent already purchased a 360 by TH release, will do) this footage has sent me well over the edge of reason. Silicon Knights is an extremely competent developer and unless something disasterous happens, it will be an essential purchase for 360 owners. You've also got to remember that the reason for Eternal Darkness's poor sales figure was the fact that Nintendo didn't market the damned thing (no pu intended!). Microsoft won't be making that mistake.
-
Technically, Eternal Darkness was published by Nintendo and developed within a second party agreement. Personally, i'd rather see third parties be creative rather than kick out rehashes and sequels.

Erm... Miyamoto IS known for his crazy, outrageous statements.

One of Britains best loved comedy performers, Ronnie Barker, has dies aged 76. One half of "The Two Ronnies", Ronnie Barker will also be remembered for Open all Hours and Porridge. Tributes have been made by John Cleese, Michael Palin and Peter Kay. He leaves his wife, Joy, and three children, actress Charlotte Barker, the actor Adam Barker and Larry Barker. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/tv_and_radio/4307216.stm
