  1. Unlikley to happen - would Nintendo really want to force consumers to install a wireless network and subscribe to a Broadband provider? Nice idea, but with possible USB hard disks, SD cards and flash memory I don;t think we'll see Nintendo invest in server storage. The idea of carrying across stats to new games is something either Microsoft or Nintendo have registered as a trademark... can't remember which one.
  2. Nintendo need to maintain the Free, Simple and Safe principles - especially with the target market being, well, everyone and his Nintendog. WiFi needs an easy hub for each game. Pop the game in and select Wifi play. It needs to be safe - but there is pressure for Nintendo to offer services like voice chat, messaging etc. Could we see a basic, annonymous WiFi service (like DS) and a more comprehensive service where a Credit Card can ID your age, address etc (and therefore making parent's responsible for their children's gaming habits since children don't usually have credit cards?) Simple... not entirely sure setting up a Wireless network at home is that simple, but nice idea...
  3. Could go either way. Goes against inclusion: DD5.1 could be difficult and expensive to develop; DD5.1 is still not established mainstream; Pros: hardcore gamers want it. New disk media has the storage capacity. Notice, i;m edging my bets.
  4. And lets not forget the unforgettable Virtual Boy. The 3D screens were red - most likely because your eyes bled as you played!
  5. Its not a case of using the FHC because its a launch title. If you read between the lines, Nintendo R&D seemed only to consider the FHC (the nunchuka was suggested, apparently, by the guys and girls at Retro). I can see MOST first party games coming from Japan being FHC only, with one or two notable exceptions. The FHC is revolutionary. An analogue stick isnt... not any more. The attacks will no doubt work similar to the above - but movement and jumping will be performed by moving the FHC - and not actually pressing any buttons.
  6. I really do think Smash Bros will utilise ONLY the baton
  7. I don;t see it as a huge problem. Obviously, Red Steel is one high profile third party title, with Raid Over the River being another. There is alot of buzz over the Revolution. Worst case scenario - 14/20 of the launch titles are remodelled GC titles - 6/20 are going to be first party from Nintendo and will fully utilise the Baton Controller. Can you really afford a Rev and more than 6 games in the launch period?
  8. Its not a major task to rename the machine - the Revolution brand has yet to be used in mainstream media. Its worth bearing in mind that the DS WAS due to have a name change, but feedback to Nintendo was that people actually liked the name. Perhaps similar feedback will ensure the Revolution keeps its name. Alternatively, perhaps the name will give away the Rev's other secret...
  9. Medium. I think a Sony rep has said to expect a particular price tag - can't recall what it is! Although Nintendo show the Shell controller, no games are currently in production that utilise it.
  10. Since they'll no doubt review the revolution launch BEFORE its release, this can be entirely possible we'll see a november release,
  11. Without actually holding the Nunchuka attachment, i can't really comment, but by the looks of things the shoulder buttons would be better as belly buttons, as it were. The hand and fingers would seem to rest more comfortably there. On the whole, Nintendo is very Apple inspired and I can see the Revolution being white as 'standard'- including the Baton Controller.
  12. Low. Nintendo announced worldwide launch in November 2006
  13. After seeing the stunning, if blurred, shots of Red Steel, how do you feel about Nintendo's Revolution? Has your opinion changed? Personally, i was so hyped one week ago - aching to see what's in store at E3, but more importantly to get my grubby mitts on one (hopefully) by Christmas. Those few shots of Red Steel have blown my excitement out of the water. Revolution: Its gonna look great. Feel great. It will be great.
  14. Revolution. I cant wait. :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:
  15. Could we be discussing the Nintendo RS next month? With Ubisoft releasing details on Red Steal, it seems coincidence that the games namr mirrors the rumoured RS name.
  16. tantilising!
  17. I thought this myself. As you say, DS could certainly happen, but Cube?
  18. So, if I buy either of these what connections do i need to ensure I have?
  19. I'm just as confused. how can i tell if mt pc has an adsl modem built in?
  20. Hello I'm looking at installing a wireless network at home - the PC, Laptop, NDS would all need to connect to the net via this. I have identified two possible routers: This: http://uk.insight.com/apps/productpresentation/index.php?product_id=SMCNA7407W&nbs_search=C%3D109%26S%3D101311%26M%3DSMC **** or this: http://uk.insight.com/apps/productpresentation/index.php?product_id=SMCNA2804W&nbs_search=C%3D109%26S%3D101311%26M%3DSMC But i'm a bit confused by the connections. I already have a USB modem (a cheapy unnamed given away by the Broadband IPS), which I don't mind scrapping anyway. But on both of these I can't see how they would connect to my PC - the ***'d one seems to connect direct into the telephone line via RJ45. Anyone have any ideas. The only spare connection on the bank of my PC (other than quite a few serial-style ports is like the one in the diagram) - or USB ports. http://server2.uploadit.org/files/davidredge-port.JPG
  21. I heard some time ago that F-Zero GX has a massive unlockable feature - all the AX (arcade) tracks. I've certainly done pretty well with only Two Expert GP's to complete (the AX tracks are apparently available after Expert is completed). Anyone managed this yet?
  22. Remember its quite likely that we'll be able to download the original Mario RPG also. Never released in the UK, but i'm sure it had an american release.
  23. Does anyone know when GDC is? What coverage is expected?
  24. I beleive its the management offices for NIntendo UK. Codestorm is contracted to offer the (poor) customer service side of the business, so its definately not that and the Slough side will no doubt make the decisions at a national level (doubt NOE in Germany have much understanding of the UK gaming market..!).
