Has anyone tried the news channel. I'm not near my wii at the moment, but news seems most likely.

Having played SA1 and 2 on Cube, I was so disappointed. Sonic's levels were just what the series was about - speed, twists, loops etc. Then, some "genius" added abysmal Knuckles and Tails levels.

Virtual Console - All you need to know
david.dakota replied to Tellyn's topic in General Gaming Discussion
I'm doubting that Mario Kart 64 will be coming with any online features. NO games so far have had any extra work done to them and i'd wager getting any game to run online is just too much work to sell it at £7.00. I'd love it to be, but can't se it. -
Nyko solution to pointer range problems
david.dakota replied to michaelarran's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I really don't mind a wired sensor bar. AT the moment it sjust long enough, but a better range is essential. -
Mii's. I'm sure that you'll be able to battle with Miis - it makes perfect sense.

I had a the same weird occurance twice where the Wii Remotes lost communication with the sensor bar and Wii, and thusly nothing happened. The update screen I was on required me to click OK, but since both controllers had effectively dies (or gone into some strange winter hibernation) I couldnt move on from that page. IN the end, i left the controller pointing at the TV, and came back later. Hey presto, fully functioning Wiimote. Another glitch in the system, according to my girlfreind, is that Wii Sports is biased towards me.

Wii snubbed? - Sixaxis honoured with Emmy
david.dakota replied to darthbane2k's topic in Nintendo Gaming
It looks like a TV remote -
Remember that this MOH is being developed by EA's new and dedicated Wii Studio (i'd assume, anyway), so it shouldnt just be another addition to a fairly unremarkable franchise. I would hope that the developers take time to sort the controls and add some randy new features too.

I'm so sorry for being so behind, we've only just found it and its doing the rounds with local mates.

I actually saw a report on, i think, ITV news a ping pong style of game. The twist - you used the power of your mind to control things.
-
Thats an interesting point. Since the Wii Remotes communicate with the Wii via Bluetooth, is it technically possible for the Wii to communicate with other bluetooth devices, such as headsets?

AS a sicde note, i've noticed a striking similarity in the BWii storyline to certain events in a certain country begining with "I" and ending with "raq". Taken from Wii.com
-
NO, but if you miss you'll end up with a DS embedded in your TV rather than the Wii Remote.

I loved Batallion Wars on Cube and its sequel is destined to grace my disk slot. I've read that the game features some online multiplayer aspects, including what seem to be some real fleshed out skirmish and assault battles. However, i then read that these are LAN based (meaning that I can only play with a Wii nearby). Has it been confirmed it BWii will include online play, LAN play or both?

Wii First Impressions compared with 360
david.dakota replied to Ant-Shimmin's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I have played on a 360, and i'm quite the opposite. My brother purchased one alongside a HD television. When I played it, Ghost Recon, I was completely underwhelmed by it. The visuals are obviously the main selling point of the system, I felt there was no added substance to it, as far as i'm concerned I was playing an Xbox game. It just didnt do it for me. Bearing in mind that my brother had some experience with the machine, he couldnt properly navigate the options and menus, and that put me off comepletely. All that said, i don't begrudge better graphics. I'd love Wii to have some major horsepower, but it secondary to the interface. From the moment I pressed the Wii's ON button, i've been impressed. Not the same with 360. -
This happened to me litterally 5 minutes after I got mine and had set it up. I'd tried loads of things, but nothing happened. That said, try pointing the Wiimote at the sensor bar and either powering back up or resyncing

Rummy is right, most stores will not put an exchange through the paperwork. HOwever, it is always best to ask them to do so - this ensures your protection within sale of goods act (i've been caught out by the arseclowns at Currys). Basically, when you have a faulty item and have it repaired/replaced in the first 6 months, your item is easier to get repaired/replaced if the fault accurs again. However, Currys are conning bastards and should be avoided at all cost.

I'm spanking mine as we speak. But since I have the internet, i'm spanking for pleasure. The service line is 0870 6060 247 for UK customers, and the address: Nintendo Service Centre Codestorm House Walton Road Farlington Hampshire PO6 1TR Call them first. They'll sort out your remote as, since it is an essential part of the Wii, it'll be covered by manufacturers warranty. That said, you may also get some joy from your retailer (afterall, your contract of sale is with the retailer, not Nintendo). I'd see your retailer first and argue that under sale of goods act they are responsible for replacing it (which should be far quicker than sending to Nintendo UK).

I got mine Tuesday. I visited the site on the monday it went live and asked for two - i actually got three. Has anyone tried to pull their old wriststraps to break them? I looped the wriststrap round the door handle and tried, a few gentle tugs first leading up to and then a more aggressive yank. I was actually impressed with how much force it would take. I now beleive Nintendo's original straps were fine, not outstanding, but did the job. I think those pictures of damages AV equipment is likely down to poor grip and not actually wearing the strap.

IGN are reporting that Japanese dveeloper g-rev.com have an updated release schedule which includes those magic words NiGHTS follow up. You'll find IGN's report http://uk.wii.ign.com/articles/753/753174p1.html. It certainly gives credence to those rumours that will not cease - that Wii will be home to a new NiGHTS game. Fingers crossed.

Screw you wii Sports - The official wii sports bitching thread
david.dakota replied to blender's topic in Nintendo Gaming
For Gods sake. WiiSports and WiiPlay are basically entertaining tech demos, with a little spit and polish. Neither are supposed to be anything more. Tech demos are rarely seen, so be thankful that they're packaged with your Wii. When we start paying £40 for a boxing, tennis or golf game, we can moan about about them. However, my missus and I are forever playing WiiSports and WiiPlay. I've probably tallied up more play time on each of these than I have on Monkey Ball and Zelda combined. Now thats value for money.
