Seriously, Mario is their only hope now, in Japan at least. Over here the Wii U is seriously done. I thought after the drought, and when we started getting regular releases (after Pikmin 3 released) the Wii U would be back on track but that didn't happen. Then Nintendo had some sure-fire sales in big games (that even they said would be big) such as Wii Party U and Mario & Sonic yet look at them. Dire. What's even worse is that Wii Party U is like, what, a fiver when you consider the packed in Wii Remote Plus, so there's no excuse. Those COD sales are also a complete joke. It didn't sell anywhere near the 360 and PS3 versions on Wii, but as has already been mentioned, it regularly sold around 1 million. To be outsold by a console that hasn't even been released is really the last straw for any kind of third-party support, especially from a series that big. And what about Sonic Lost World? Didn't that sell literally a few thousand in Japan? Hopefully it does better in America else there won't be much point releasing that third Sonic game. And given the reception Wii Party U and Mario & Sonic received, compared to their amazing sales on Wii, I don't have much hope for Sports and Fit. Especially Fit. It's Nintendo's fault for their utterly shit advertising though. What do they expect? A lot of these titles are actually decent but if no one knows about them whats the point in even releasing them? A lot of people have no idea Pikmin 3 and Wind Waker HD even exist. Heck, I only knew about the release date for Wii Sports Club a day before it came out and I regularly keep up to date with this kind of thing. Unless you have your nose in Nintendo news sites every day or regularly check the eShop there's absolutely no exposure to these titles.

Thanks, I use the controls now instead of the screen. I'm like half-way through the ice world now and haven't really got the motivation to get any further. I was really looking forward to this game and tried really hard to like it but just like with Brawl, something about it feels off. I'd really love a new Galaxy game, and I'd love a new Sonic game, but a weird mix of both doesn't work. Even with the run button, Sonic still slips and slides and has his famous awful jump. I'll try it again tomorrow, 'cause I don't want to give up just yet, but we'll see.

I always forget about flipnote, which is for the best, as I'd love it! So at least I'm not torturing myself. I thought it was great, Miiverse and YouTube are great additions to 3DS! I don't care for Monster Hunter, but its a shame that it wasn't announced as I know a lot of people here were wanting/expecting it today.

Mario just KEEPS looking better and that music is wonderful. Also, the 10th 'new thing' TOTALLY made this game 100% more appealing:

You guys seriously dont use them!? They make the Wiimote feel so much nicer! Especially when holding it sideways for NES-type controls, it gives a little handle on the left hand side

It'd be nice to see some footage of Yarn Yoshi though I guess we won't if its a 3DS one. All I really want to see for 3DS is Miiverse! I have too many games to get through as it is!

Most of last week was just terrible, I didn't know how I'd make it through! But then come Saturday it was actually really good. I went to my friends birthday which consisted of a casino and a few bars, i'd never been to a casino before so that was really fun! Spent £40, won £25, threw it back in and lost that too :p It was a fun ride though and with such bad luck I can't see myself getting hooked on it :p The gay bars were also pretty awesome, had some amazing drinks, didn't get lucky but then I didn't expect to, I always 'look straight' apparently (maybe I need to flap my hand more and wear deep V tops, aye?) But yes, a great end to a bad week.

I haven't played as much as this as I'd have hoped but went on again last night and SMASHED my target of -2lbs. Did the weigh in and to my surprise got -5lbs Gonna have to get myself a fit meter now.

Man, that looks wonderful. I'd be tempted to use a clear Wiimote jacket though to show off the blue back

Shitty lists aren't concrete proof but I don't think anyone can deny that the first year of Wii U has been a complete disaster :p It's nearly down and out before the other 2 have even left the door.

Really liking it so far, I've just got to the ice world! Everything feels really fun and the controls are fine. The one thing that annoys me is the wisps. They seem so out of place here, using the touch screen to control the drill is bullshit and the rocket is weird. On that Gusty Garden Galaxy rip-off I used the rocket and tried to decend to a planet to only be told 'too bad', I guess I wasn't meant to venture that for :p For the most part, the controls are great, but it really does seem to get really weird/glitchy whenever I try to use a wisp! And I like the story so far but WHY are the videos compressed? WHY?! Seriously. If it was an eShop download I'd put it down to compression, but surely they shouldn't have to compress on disc when Wii U discs go to 20-something GB? Really annoys me that does. And the Deadly Six actually aren't that bad. I felt sick looking at their designs initially but the characters themselves are actually not bad at all! Certainly a lot better than some of the characters from Sonics past, like... Big the cat. I also like how the Red guy has a manly, echoed voice like Entei from Pokemon 3.

Yeah, Motion+ is flaky! I hadn't used it for a while so when I played the new Mario and Sonic I wasn't sure whether it was the software or Motion+ at fault but I think I know now!

Yeah, they should definitely advertise some of the big games that have come out this year, I fear titles like Wind Waker and Pikmin may get forgotten in the long run otherwise.

Went into GAME today (was gonna pick up Sonic but have decided to wait out for a better deal) and things are looking worse than before Huge signs and pre-order boxes for PS4 and XBOX One. The left is all green for Xbox One and right all blue with Playstation logo's everywhere. Through the middle is a load of Call of Duty stuff and then hidden on one shelf is the Wii U. Far worse than the GameCube days. I know shelf space isn't everything, but it really doesn't give the Wii U a good image.

Yeah, the lack of DK has really hurt. No doubt Mario will do numbers, but it seems as though Nintendo are putting A LOT of faith into this one title. I'm glad Taiko is coming out too, it always does good numbers, I see it as the Japanese equivalent to Just Dance (yeah, there were 2 JP Just Dance games but I don't think they had the same effect as over here). I just wish Wii U was region-free, I loved the Wii Taiko games

I finally gave my iTunes a good clear out, got rid of the clutter I'd accumulated from downloading entire albums instead of just singles and also restored a BUNCH of songs that I hadn't realised got removed from my phone because I moved a load of folders around on my computer. Now I'm being blown away by tons of stuff I forgot I had, like Ken Hirai, old Daft Punk (namely HOMEWORK) and... JET SET RADIOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Wonderful game, I especially love Scotland and that HUGE canada track (the last one) I still remember the golden days of flying around and pulling off tricks to the killer sound track of Scatman John

Excitebots is worth it! I LOVE the game, one of my favourite racers. And have a look around, one of the homebrew installers is literally as simple as putting a file on your sd card, opening the letter page and opening a particular letter. Uuurgh. First day back at work and it's as bad, if not a bit worse than I remember. Somehow gotta get through another 7 hours! And I almost definitely won't be able to have my driving test tomorrow. Fucking hell, I'm so done with everything.
