  1. It's the face that does it really.
  2. Choze bought them all. It's all part of his plan to stop anyone from playing it.
  3. Last I checked, still a bit touch and go at peak times, but I'll be surprised if problems last beyond the next week or so.
  4. I prefer to get stuck in by the shortest route myself, but I'll try to keep it in mind.
  5. Sign me up, bud, Feel free to hop in with if you ever see me on. FYI I don't have a mike, though if you don't mind a mute ally I'd love to have someone reliable to knock heads with. That goes for everyone else too.
  6. Give it a few months - soon the K/D obsessives move on to the next big shooter with the school kids, the hardcore clans go back to Counter Strike, the casual players that stick with it eventually figure out how to spot enemies. Eventually what your left with is a pleasant hodgepodge of good sports, hardcore individuals scattered on both sides and the young workers & parents who need to unwind after dinner and everyone will - at the minimum - have a rough idea of what they're supposed to be doing and making genuine attempts towards achieving victory. I actually enjoy losing games if my side are actually trying, even if they're not as practiced as the opposition - when they do stick around to defend a point, or do make a go of getting you back on your feet even if you just get gunned down again. There's nothing worse then spending all the round getting shot at capture points and wondering why your team is still cowering behind a rock, queuing up for a single jet back at base or sniping fruitlessly from the outer fringes of the map.
  7. Fairly dull race, Rowan aside - I feel quite bad for Massa, I was actually quite surprised that stewards decision went against him. Lewis too still seems to be struggling to get back on his feet, keeping fingers crossed for a decent pair of results at the last two races for both of them. Beautiful shot from the race popped up on tumblr though -
  8. Managed to get my mitts on a helicopter in the Firestorm map - I don't know if they've made these easier to fly or something but I'm not as hilariously shit at it as I used to be. I still managed to find a way of going sideways into the deck as soon as an RPG came within 20ft of the rotors, but I at least manged to maneuver while holding it in one competent angle or another for a few minutes.
  9. Only won one game out of about 10 so far, though I'm holding my own. I guess it's just a bad early run and I'm still enjoying myself. Need to have a rush game now. Tried the co-op, had an irritating moment when myself and another player battled our way to the 3rd wave and the next one didn't trigger. Bah.
  10. The only thing I can guess at is to make sure your xbox account is linked to your EA/origin account - otherwise it must just be server trouble or something. I don't think they've organized this terribly well admittedly.
  11. I've started a forum platoon for the Xbox players in our ranks - the NE Mushroom Marauders (tentative title) - friend me so I can pull you into this. Alt. titles considered - Hyrulian Highlanders and Dreamland Defenders - somebody should set up platoons for the other platforms with those titles if you ask me.
  12. The back button to spot on 360.
  13. I've had no problems over on the 360, can't speak for the PS3 version. You'll need an origin/EA account if you don't have one already. Also, if you're having trouble getting in, go through the server browser and pick a server manually, the quick game button wasn't taking me anywhere fast but I got into the first server I tried.
  14. Been watching Giantbomb's live broadcast of BF3 on PC and the big crazy 64-player stuff is just awesome. As I said before we'd all be playing it on PC given the choice, but the console version should still give a good snifter of the full-bodied original flavour. Can't wait to finally get stuck in over the next couple of days.
  15. To illustrate our recent discussion -
  16. Launch trailer, if anyone cares. I mean, I won't be rushing out to grab it day one either but isn't anyone going to admit they're interested? We all know it'll do gangbusters, someone around here has to admit to buying it.
  17. I'm useless with helicopters too - jets or planes, I can rock it with the best. Helicopters I can't plough into the sea quickly enough.
  18. You're sort of supposed to suck - it's not really Battlefield unless somebody's belly-flopping an F16 into their own squad.
  19. It's been an absolutely bloody awful week in motorsport - Wheldon (twice Indy 500 winner, the first Brit to win it since Graham Hill in '66) leaves two young kids behind and Simoncelli (125cc Champion in '08) was only 24 and surely on his way to big things. I'm at the point where I don't care if we get a good race or not in India, just as long as everyone comes back in one piece. Anyway, in the lighter side of the news: I'll believe it when I see it myself.
  20. I'm sorry to hear that Rainiiiiing, I hope your Dad is up to full speed soon and that work isn't too stressful either. =( Hug?
  21. It was a bit of a problem back in BF2 (though admittedly not chronic), hence the "Back to Karkand" pack we're getting today.
  22. Pretty much - allowing you to search by map, mode, player count etc. I personally much prefer games that force everyone to use automated matchmaking & playlists myself, to stop "de_dust" type scenarios developing. Also I think the public are idiots who need to be controlled, but that may just be because I work in retail.
  23. Damn Russians and their non-specific revenge against the US involving the Middle East in some way. Lot of them around these days. I also like the happening within the first six minutes of the story.
  24. http://doctorwhoquotesfuturama.tumblr.com/ Sometimes I think I spend too much time on Tumblr. But really, looking at this, I know I'm not spending enough. God, it's so hypnotic. It's like a lava lamp. A lava lamp doing the robot.
  25. Had to do an unexpected double shift because our manager had left the store understaffed, not anticipating a tour for next year's students. I was going to go the gym today but it was closed by the time I got out. Now I just feel ill. Also, on my way home I shouted at some poor girl trying to sign me up to Red Cross. I feel really very bad about it.
