Kidding right? You realise how fucking amazing Matrix's action sequences looked when it came out? Not to say they necessarily were the highlights of the movie, and without the script it wouldn't have been nearly such a success, but for their time it was the action that was praised, which was revolutionary for it's time. Aaahaha now THAT's a good point. I had wondered what it reminded me of. Shocking.

Holy moly, Benjamin Button's out??? Thought that was new year. I need to get my ass down to the cinema. Seems to be doing rather well on the ol' imdb ratingscale which can't be bad. Can't think what I've seen recently... Actually that said I've seen both of these in the past couple weeks Yeh Id agree with both of those. Probably knock a mark off each but still. I found LA Confidential abit hard to follow, partly because i was tired when watching and im a dumbass. Brokeback is doubtlessly amazing though, Ledger is incredible in it. On a side note, nah Crash is good aswell. I actually agree with this. Well, I wouldn't give it a 3, probably a 6 - 7ish, but I thought it was massively overrated.

Pretty much in fact. I mean Id heard Hurt before, and knew he was good. But I've never properly listened to his stuff before, he's incredible. But yeh, I am rather late in discovering him

What he said. The main riff is fucking intense. Easily Rage

Meh, I still far prefer irl shopping than online. On occasion it is so much cheaper that I delve into Amazon or Play, mind. Especially for boxsets, I find. In any case, I didn't know that Zavvi was shutting, I knew they were having trouble but bah now it's confirmed, completely sucks.

That video was (the) fucking nuts. Crazy Japanese kids. Album of the Year Foals - Antidotes Honorable mentions: Kills, Midnight Boom - Ratatat, LP3 - TV On the Radio, Weird Science Oh yea and Bon Iver's Album is pretty amazing, only discovered it today though so can't say for sure. Single of the Year Santogold - Les Artistes Honourable Mentions - Cassius & RedSP, Foals - Paper Planes, M.I.A - Black Panther, Crystal Castles. On an unrelated note, I realized how fucking amazing Johnny Cash is today.

Whens Season 4 due to end? Im trying to figure out if i should speed through seasons 2 3 and the first half of 4 and catch up in time for the ending or to go at a steady pace and savour it...

Pft, we could have had a whitewash... Anyway, easily Bat for Lashes, although I do quite like Numb, in a guilty pleasure sort of way. That reminds me, I need to get tickets for Bat for Lashes. Ok well they've sold out. FUCK.

I asked for a new acoustic guitar (my current one is a 3/4 size nylon string one that sounds rather awful). Went and picked it the other week, I fucking love it. Asides from that, I asked for either Fallout, Dead Space, or Lost Odyssey (bit of surprise as to which I shall get) And hopefully a bit of cheap tat that I don't know about yet - tat is great at christmas. Got my dad Season 2 of The Wire, and La Haine as it was going cheap (and I want to watch it :P)

Gah, first im up against myself and then im up against Tori Amos. Both excellent, though Im going Pixies as the bass and intro are delicious

Evidently they failed to realise that pretty much the only people who go to Batford, ever, are SJLer's at lunchtime. And it's generally far too overpriced for us. I overheard them talking about going bust already when I was in there today. Good hot chocolate though. YAYS last day of term tomorrow, which I am toying with the idea of not coming in for. Meanwhile my best bud got a car the other day, which I have been using for lifts and fun. Now I want one. Which will never happen. And I got UCAS offer #3 today which was exciting. I have yet to get the two that I actually want though ¬_¬ And facebook is failing for me today, which leaves me with a surprising lack of things to do. New years resoloution must be to use it less. Beat portal without guides or youtube, what an immense game.

Lets see... Last year's resolutions • Kick ass at my AS's - Success!! • Start Learning to Drive - Success!! • Get a job - Fail • Read moar - Partial success (There were probably more) But yes, exciting year for me, it would seem that sixth form is where things start to kick off and get exciting. 2009 Resolutions • Pass my driving test • Waste less time on the internet, facebook especially • Don't screw up in A2s • Procrastinate less and do essays on time • As a result, get into a decent uni • Do fun stuff and travelling in the summer
-
That would be a good solution :P Batford has a coffee shop now, just one of the many exciting Harpenden developments you've missed out on

Today I walked past a bunch of year Sevens and they were all singing Hallelujah. I wanted to vomit / punch something. More interestingly... nah thats about the most exciting thing to happen me in the past week. Well done for the offer Haggis, I haven't got any more since my second, weeks ago. Gah, wish they'd get a move on.

Wow, thought id voted in this one Goldfrapp for me, though the other wasn't bad

Almost went for Megadeth but that crappy voice kicked in. HIM for me, though i dislike both

Lols that is true. The Grey's with the bomb in stuck in that guy (Im assuming thats the episode you were referring to) was pretty amazing. Anyways I ended up spending the majority of my time off ill watching the entire first season, so Gossip Girl Season One Great fun. It was quite weird when at one point it looked as though all 3 of the Humphreys were hooking up with all three of the Van Der Woodsens but they sorted that out. Amazingly addictive. 8 / 10 Battlestar Galactica Season One Fucking amazing start to finish. Even things from episodes that seemed a little pointless were brought back toward the end. I can't fault it, and thus I award 10 / 10

Junk - Melvin Burgess I suspect. Good book, I read it for school a few years back Wild Sheep Chase - Haruki Murakami Good book, full of the typical Murakami weirdness. I preferred both After Dark and Norwegian Wood to this though. And Im currently halfway through a book by the infinately more fucked up Ryu Murakami Edit: Ohh I forgot to score WSC 8 / 10

Isn't it too late to change options after you've sent it all off? Im probably wrong. Anyways, my friend got has two interviews from De Monteford in January (applied for two courses there), it looks fairly good. But I remember you saying you were applying for journalism? Sheffield strikes me as a better uni for that type of course. My very vague knowledge is that De Montford is better for artsy subjects. Again though, im probably wrong. Congrats on your first offer anywho, it's a good feeling In my world, my illness has nearly cleared up. Just sore throat and being generally bunged up now, yays! Oh and another friend got an offer for medicine Most impressive. He's worked hard, I must admit im slightly jealous...

Problem is, there's always the chance that you'll actually end up with what everyone else has. Like, about this time last year I pulled a sickie on a Friday, only to actually end up being ill on the monday and having to come in. That was annoying...
