Comprehensive list! Great, ta Just downloaded Lifeline - sounds great! Yeah new launcher is the first thing I use whenever I get a new android, prompting an obsessive couple of ocd hours sorting it all out. The major perk over ios for me. I'm amazed by all the people on touchwiz, still so gross. My current look Swisshh. Btw are you use you got the name right on time for sleep? I want to give it a try but it's not coming up on the play store when I search

Finally have a phone with some space on it for apps. Any must have apps / games from the past couple years that people would recommend? I pretty much just used my last phone for Pocket Onecast and whatsapp

Helps that the last game I played was Fallout 4 but... game looks incredible!! Only played the second but the story looks a lot better here...

The thing that worries me with PS VR is that the screen is actually lower res than the S6 - 1920x1080 compared to 2560x1440 on the s6. But yeah, I stopped noticing too much after a while so hopefully it won't be too much of an issue. Refresh rate and obviously the processor are both considerably better on ps. Interested to see what software they come out with - still yet to be convinced that the console version of vr won't end up next in the line of eye toy, move etc. But as you said a few pages back, No Mans Sky would be an awesome start if that gets sorted... Definitely. I also feel like we, trying out vr for the first time and cowering in fear, moving out the way of things that fly out at us, etc (a couple of my friends ripped off the headset at the scary bits of Catatonic) might be akin to that often told story of the first showing of a train moving toward the camera in a cinema, where (supposedly) moviegoers ran out of the screening in fear. I wonder if people will get used to VR in the same way. In some ways I think the 'mainstream' might have it best - anyone who manages to hold off on trying any VR until screen door comes right down and pixel density and graphics go right up, in the next few years, will totally lose their shit. As many have said these first iterations do feel more like an (amazing) 'glimpse' of the future rather than the full whack. In other news... tried out some vr.. adult content. It's incredible. In some ways the most convincing vr content I've tried, to the extent that it totally has the potential to be kind of, too immersive? Kind of creepily dystopic. Like something right out of Black Mirror. I can't imagine what it'll be like for teenagers growing up in the next couple of decades. Serious case of skewed preconceptions. Not sure I want to go there again... slippery slope. Anyway. Finding new mad things to do with it every day. Love it

Based on the above - seems a good time to post. I picked up an s6 and samsung VR for bargain basement price what with the s7 launch. It's great!! First few moments are actually kind of disappointing - the pixels are really clear at times and the video quality can be truely shoddy in some cases. Slightly discourages me from the first gen headsets given the resolutions are similar to the s6 screen. Nonetheless, when you sift through the rubbish, some of the 'experiences' are truely amazing. The 3d Assassins Creed trailer / short movie is AMAZING. Similarly, there's a live action one called Catatonic where you get pushed through this horror style old hospital in a wheelchair, as things jump out at you. Edited really well, great to watch people try it given all of the jump scares. Occulus cinema is also fantastic, particularly the screen that you can reorient - I lay down in bed looking up at the biggest screen I've seen. It's great! Seems to me the phone is a pretty good for direction for VR to go. Why spend hundreds of pounds on two high res 5 inch screen devices when you could use the same one for both? Clearly rift and Vive have advantages right now - positional tracking most obviously - but I could see the industry shifting toward phones if they can add in features and power through a pc. Also strikes me from watching the 3d movie content that there's no way this won't be a huge thing in the future of filmmaking. The immersion already on something like sonar is incredible - when this has had a few years to develop, artistically and technologically... going to be great. Will b investigating some of the..other features soon enough

2 late m8. I was never particularly bothered about Kanye being a nob before - always felt like he was trolling the media rather than being particularly offensive. This year I feel like he's really jumped the shark on actually being a prick. That or he has genuinely lost it. In any case I think Pablo is fantastic - Feedback, FML, are some of his best stuff. Shame about the sexism. This boy's been putting out some real bangers of late, despite being an insufferable little shit for a long time. I might even be coming round to him as a person. Oh yeah and on a related note, seeings as I loved their carpool karaoke - always thought James Corden was an immensely irritating character but he has found something with his singing in a car thing...

Aaaahhhhhhh. Taking me a long time to calm down from that. Great day of football watching. Deserved win, and we weren't even playing that well. Lucky with the penalty but.. fuck it. Two points off the top. All eyes on 5th march - biggest NLD in a long time. Amazed at what Poch has us transformed into. The character of the team compared with a couple seasons back seems completely different. Going from our average +4 goal difference to having the best in the league is mad too. Couple more thoughts on the Leicester game - surprised Mahrez was the first sub. Felt his runs could have provided an outlet to offset the constant arsenal pressure, even if he offers less defensively. Thought they showed a bit of inexperience in general toward the end, stupid foul at the death, and a couple minutes before Drinkwater knocked in a (poor) cross when he could have bought some vital seconds playing in the corner, maybe won a throw in or a corner, like Lamela in the later match. And, obviously, Leicester's style is about the worst fit you can imagine for going a man down under pressure.. mostly just a shame we didn't get to see a proper 11v11 contest the whole way though. Anyway... what a season. 10 points off 5th is crazy enough in itself for us. United better sign Mourinho up soon else I'ma be stressing about poaching the Poch...

Christ this a is stressful watch. Gooners only got themselves to blame if they don't make something of this now Edit: Ah, fuck. How big is that red going to be in the title race?

GameTrailers Shutting Down
dan-likes-trees replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Anyone know where I can watch that final twitch stream? (Or do they archive on twitch... literally never beeen on it aside from when everyone was watching the weird crowdsourced pokemon playthrough). I keep checking in through some sort of reflex and remembering it's gone - what a downer. Very disappointing news - I feel like the current team were a pretty genuine and fun bunch, particularly compared to a few years ago when the site seemed a lot more corporate. I'll always remember the great reactions to Sony's e3 last year. Also found the consistency they had by having Brandon Jone's voice in every video really made the video production seem notably better than any other game review videos, which often seem to use journos totally ill suited to voice work. Hope he gets picked up somewhere. Interesting that it happened in the same week as The Independant folded in the UK - speaks a lot about the shifting media landscape. Overall: sad news! -
Played through the first day and a bit - enjoying it, the dynamic between the two and the great art scattered around. Think I'll try and pace myself a little, must be quite short if you guys have both finished it up.

If anyone picks this up on ps4 do post performance thoughts on here. I'll be picking it up as soon as I know it's playable. Looks great (praise thee Olly Moss) and the voice acting that I've heard in the clips so far sounds real good too. The dynamic kind of reminds me of Run, Zombies - the great android / ios fitness game..

This War of Mine: The Little Ones (Xbox One/PS4)
dan-likes-trees replied to drahkon's topic in Other Consoles
I remember this vividly form playing on steam last year - I'd avoided looting that house because I'd feel so bad - but right toward the very end of the war, one of my people on his deathbed - I had to loot the whole house for food and medicines to see me through. Felt like a real hollow victory, genuinely felt like a bad person. Fantastic game! @Nolan - as far as I can make out there's really minimal differences, not worth replaying for, sadly -
Too right. How about this for a valentines day double bill Bad news of couples across the country. Have yet to break the news to my misses..

Oh man, read the first line and then instantly remembered one of your posts in the bad stuff thread.. I feel like a dick! Apologies - Thanks for getting back to me anyway, appreciated : peace: hope you're doing aright. Good advice on the s6 - sounds like a no brainer for the price, having researched a bit. I was too slow off the mark on that refurb deal (265 sim free!) so I'll have to keep an eye out if it goes back on their store.. And yeah, good point re the s7, though I always tend to buy outdated phones once the price knocks down a touch so I'm not tooo fussed, for now
-
oi @Happenstance hit me back - Samsung s6s are going for £260 sim free on the samsung refurb store and i'm considering an upgrade that I don't particularly need, partly for vr. Has the novelty worn off? How much are you using it? Or anyone else who has samsung vr I guess. On an off topic note, any feedback on the s6 much appreciated..

Oh in that case I'd be well up for the merge. Bloody love CL format. Are the other league good? lol

Xpert 11 NE: Season 1, Simul (Summer 2016)
dan-likes-trees replied to Haden's topic in General Chit Chat
Going to be soo goood. But so far away!!!! -
Hmm I was kinda hoping for a last hurrah this season in the upper league.. but to be honest I'm not playing it nearly enough to justify running it. Would none of the non-forumers from the league that we merged with (caltech et all) be up for running it? If not then yeah by all means. Edit: oh yeah and poor @Ellmeister 's lowly 'elites' will miss out their last chance to finally win an upper league title
-
That top two tho
-
Thought I'd leave a bit of time for you to get used to it (and potentially... over the novelty?) Are you still using it as your primary tv/movies viewing device? I'm feeling it might be quite a good way to focus on what you're watching - I find these days I'm always flicking around online when I'm watching TV. And what are the games like that you can run on a phone, having had a while to check out the library? Tempted to get a samsung next time I upgrade to try it out.. oneplus 2 is considerably cheaper tho so it would have to be pretty fantastic..

Hello all, Apologies if this has been posted already - but lately I keep getting the minimal version of the forum, without sigs, avatars, etc. I used to be able to get around it by accessing the forum by going on n-europe.com and then clicking the link, but that's no longer working. Any ideas? This one hurts my eyes. Can post screenshots to confirm what I mean if needed. EDIT: I'm a nob. literally on the previous page. Ignore me!

Hey braahh.... if this a steam thing? Do you think it the gifting would work for the mac version? If so... can I get it?

Slight digression, but a friend of a friend posted some Zelda fan art he'd made onto facebook the other day, which made me think of the graphics discussion on this thread. Obviously the franchise has gone down a different route, art direction wise, but it's interesting to see where we might be had Nintendo continued down the Twighlight Princess route of art style. Here's the bloke's artstation http://i64.tinypic.com/wlvyok.png

Watch out for Dele Alli's masterpiece of a goal on MotD later. A thing of beauty. That boy!!

I played the PC version on steam last year and thought it was absolutely fantastic - really evokes a kind of desperate mood through the music and the gameplay mechanics. Toward the end of the war I distinctly remember caving in and robbing a house, with an old couple cowering in the kitchen because my team were so desperate for medicine and food. Makes you take tough choices and you feel them.. Kind of a strategy game in some of it's mechanics - I'd be interested to hear how it holds up without a mouse.
