This is an insanely good price!

That'll be me too! Also: played tennis tonight and it was flawless. Tried to mess up motion+ on purpose but it was the best it has ever been. Wonder if there has been some patch/update. Really confusing as I haven't moved/changed anything - just installed golf that's all. Tennis is even better when the controls are flawless. I was giving the champions a really good game and picking shots was much easier. Didn't have to reset the racquets once. Fingers crossed it's the same for everyone.

All of the current sports will be free to play on December 26th.

Amen. Finally!

Dat Ubi support.

Sounds interesting. I've not come across anyone like that and have played over 50 games online at different times. @Mokong X\-C on the island mini-game. Looking forward to some good competition on those leaderboards as Golf lends itself well to individual competition.

Nintendo Direct 18th December - Wii U & 3DS Spring 2014 Titles

Would explain a lot... Would love some N64 on the GamePad. Haven't been too enamoured with the SNES/NES titles on it so far. Seeing some 3D games would be great. The resolution on the GamePad would probably suit N64 games well I'd imagine. Would be a bizarre thing to announce now. Looking forward to the ND (as ever), but not getting hyped. -
They need something to fill Jan-Feb. I think that'll be it. On another note - I thought it a poor business decision by SquareEnix to not release the Tomb Raider remake alongside the PS4/XBone re-releases in January. Would have been good to have mimicked their DeusEx release, especially as Lara has released on Ninty platforms in the past. This industry. Back on topic :P Would love more sports for Christmas but think that the two sports titles, WiiU Party and SMW3D are great titles for family play time this Christmas. Also, still loving tennis. Had a few games on this and the original today. This version annihilates the original.

General Gaming Sales/Charts Discussion

I agree. Look at what Turok and Goldeneye did for the N64. Original, exclusive content is key. On the GCN third party mature games were also on other systems, so those gamers just bought such titles on the PS2. The XBox then had Halo which was a saving grace at the time. Certainly in the UK Turok and Goldeneye gave the N64 system respect - and then many of my friends dipped into other gems on the system that would otherwise have been considered 'kiddie'. Plus it had ISS which was arguably the best football game available on the market at the time. Again, Nintendo didn't market it... Such games didn't look out of place on Nintendo systems, but when they went, Nintendo didn't replace these genres/developers. Their systems are now starved of variety in key areas. Heck knows when I can play a new realistic football game on the Wii U, or a realistic racer or a moody adventure game like Uncharted or Tomb Raider. Sadly, the answer seems like 'once' or 'never', and most of the core market knows that. With only fantasy/cutesy games to fill the void, that mature market is drifting further away from Nintendo. -
General Gaming Sales/Charts Discussion

Marketing is vital. Where is the marketing? Heck, SONY and Microsoft are managing to market new consoles showing literally NO games - and their graphics are their focus so you think they would be showing their games off ALL of the time. Instead we get Microsoft and SONY focusing on 'for the players' or 'come with us' hype messages. But guess what. It works as it is hype-enducing. Wii u has no hype. It has no good marketing behind it. We're back to pre-Wii days where Nintendo consoles were considered niche. Unfortunately, Nintendo are waaaay behind now without much third party support. The fact they continue to actually LOSE key support rather than gain it is just...bizarre. It's like they have to convince third parties every time they bring a new system out. Something needs to change if they are to survive. Gaming is too big now to just have a handful of titles released in a year (as good as they may be). And to have a lack of a marketing in the face of your competitors is insane. Nintendo need a theme park or something where they can at least do what Disney have done and have kept interest in their past and present brands strong. -
They shafted me too as I bought Luigi's mansion 2 and registered that manually, I then e-shop bought both DKC Returns and Animal Crossing (to get a free 4th game). After they didn't appear on my ID, I contacted them asking for a resolution. It turns out that somehow my 3DS had unlinked from my ID when I checked It. Because of this I sent proof of purchase (images), and asked them to help find me an amicable solution as I hadn't unlinked the system myself. They said they couldn't do anything. I sent them a letter saying that as a loyal customer I was appalled by their limiting online system and lack of compassion towards a user who had spent a lot of money toward these promotions. I also asked if they could reach an agreement with me to ensure satisfaction on both parts. In short, they didn't give a damn as the response I got was useless. This was also from the manager as I had asked for it to be passed to someone who manages such enquiries.

I agree. Still kinda gutted they didn't just make a sequel to Generations. That game was the closest to classic SONIC I've experienced in a long time. Also a big fan of Colors and this didn't seem as good. Kudos to SEGA for trying something new though. : peace:

You can tell Nintendo what game they should make next - What is it?
tapedeck replied to Charlie's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I'm not sure that's the case. It's just harder to imagine something that doesn't currently exist. Then there is the great stable of franchises/characters that Nintendo have left out of the cold for so long that surely deserve new games. It's probably not about being undemanding...if anything Nintendo fans can be over-demanding. New IP would be great but we have also seen a ton of great new IP on the 3DS e-shop. I think it's more about genre expansion with new IP for Nintendo. If they made a new platformer with a new character, people would still shun it based on the fact that it's another platformer by Nintendo. Nintendo could do with bringing their genius to new genres - like they did with Pikmin and the RTS genre and Wii Sports and the Sports genre. Both of which were genre defining/expanding with new IP's. Replace Captain Falcon with Nintendo themselves and you've just described the company! -

Super Mario Paintballing Nintendo should bring some charm to the FPS genre. Offer me fun settings across the mushroom kingdom as the Mario characters duke it out with great weapons including red homing shell launchers and banana proxy mines that slow you down. Some of the settings could be superb including food islands with custard floors and sponge cake that can be shot through. Add classic settings like the castle grounds from Mario64 drawing from the extensive settings seen in the Mario titles. Just give me something different than tennis, golf, baseball, olympics. Stunt Race FX Redux Do it Nintendo. Make the ultimate plasticine racer. You've shown us those plasticine renders since 1995 and have gone on to use them for Pikmin, now make a game with graphics that will make aardman animations sit up and take notice. Give me the racing game I loved more than any other on the SNES all over again. StarFox Fallout Keep the original and N64 format but give me the backstory to the SFox crew from inception to their lylat days and when Falco bails out. Give me Falco solo missions and tell me why he's a moody son of a gun. Give me Fox's background letting me play as James McCloud and see the pieces of the jigsaw fit together. Set it against the backdrop of a symphonic soundtrack with THAT corneria tune being the cornerstone of the StarFox team coming together to save the galaxy. Bliss. And give me Slippy's training days as DLC...they would be freakin' hilarious! Donkey Kong Tropics Just let me gallop across the beach as DK, tie swinging in the sunshine and let me roll into the jungle, find a path and a cave and begin an adventure. An open-world DKC would be absolutely beautiful if done correctly. 2D works, sure. Give me 3D, but this time and with THIS system, use the power to create a real island environment. -

PAL version exists? Awesome! -
Integration of devices will be key moving forward and almost an expectation. Now that handheld graphics are at a higher standard I would expect to be able to play future handheld games on my TV as well. When playing Luigi's Mansion 2 I kept thinking it would have been amazing on the WiiU GamePad or TV. This approach will also appease the droughts Nintendo seem to face. Will be interesting to see what approach they take. The Wii U GamePad seems like a small step into integrating handheld usage in the home and TV home console use. What's next from Nintendo I'm not sure, but I would welcome the Vita's Ps4 approach. More 4 swords experiences would be great though.

Staaaahp. Not this again. Nintendo May have sold Rare but... Retro are working on a CGI promo featuring Hyenas with swords. Nintendo are working on a HALO killer involving possession and have money-hatted EA to link Madden and FIFA to their handheld while also allowing EA to put Mario and co. in their sports titles. This is what they did in 2003 with their powerful hardware and I feel this is as close as we'll get to such ideologies. :-/

No stress as long as it has the musics...

Loving how the arcade and 16-Bit SEGA games are finding love on the 3DS platform. Old-Skool SEGA games are always worth the adoration. Some classic third party games (Aladdin etc.) from the Genesis/Megadrive would destroy the VC too.

Cranky's animation is superb. Love his cartwheel flips. Bad. Ass indeed.

Ahhh, Ffs. My 3DS XL isn't charging correctly. It's ok when plugged in then the battery seems to run out incredibly quick. It then turns off randomly when pressing the start button or when closing the system. (no sleep mode). Any advice on what to do? Will I lose all my games if I send it to Ninty? Thanks guys.
