More than a twang! I might say it's TOO similar. Not only the voice, but the style (of singing) as well. It's not harming the music, but keeps brining Placebo to mind.

Hatred already comes over me before I pressed play, the phrase, "Good Girls Gone Bad" and it's variations just grates on me, it's a cliche. It's not even used in a new way. I don't mind Cobra Starship, but I don't like them. The song is overly derivative, I think. --- Eenuh; I liked what I heard from Gotye last year, pretty nice. --- Was mysteriously handed a copy of Lali Puna (who I'd heard of)'s album, Faking The Books. Pretty nice actually. Smooth kinda....electronic beats pop stuff calming yeah.

Your summer length is ridiculous Ashley. School finishes at the very end of June, IIRC, and depending on where I get in (or don't), I'll start sometime in (early) September.

As flawed as some of ReZ's opinions are, I'm fairly sure he's joking. White text lol's usually take the place of wink smileys in my experience. Otherwise wouldn't he have just lol'd outright?

How is that in any way confirmation he's in it? That's just McFarlane saying he wouldn't mind Venom being in it. And he has not got much say in the matter. :p

I liked it, in essence. A litle too random in parts (as in, not thought out, just added on the spur of the moment, and doesn't flow as well as it could do), but it's interesting.

I've decided I hate when famous things pointlessly aren't on DVD over here. I was looking for Who's Afraid Of Virginia Woolf?, a pretty famous films, and it's only on DVD in region 1. "CUNTS!" I cried. Twin Peaks series 2 has a strange release in the UK. In that there's a region 2 version available..but not easily. And it's £41 on Amazon. Do not want.

I avoid trailers for films I like the sound of based on images/loose synopsis/genre. I managed to never see the trailer for The Dark Knight. I went to go see Savage Grace last year, and I had to cover my eyes when TDK trailer came on. So I heard the trailer. :p

Nice relaxing day again. My class took our teacher out to Buffalo Grill for the leaving lunch thing. Everyone else went to Pizza Express, so we were the ones who made the effort of choosing somewhere unique. Was nice/fun/hilarious. Dossed about otherwise. Chatted to some friends before heading home. Felt really down on the way home. I feel a bit lost future-wise. I...don't know what I'm doing. Or what I will do. Or why other people aren't in the same position as me (not referring to what I just said when I say that). Hm. Will get a cold drink of Diet Coke, some crisps/something and watch more BSG.

A lovely day. Had the usual big exam protocol talk after assembly. Was fine. remembered I have extra time for my exams. I only had 1 period today, English, in the afternoon, so I just finished off another draft of my Catcher In The Rye essay in my triple free in the morning, then messed about in the common room for the next two frees (technically art, but the course is over), writing songs all over the sheets for the playlist for the Leaver's ball. I love that it's ALL electro-indie basically. Did a little more english in the next free, but then decided to make notes on To The Lighthouse on paper. Wrote out the essay tite, then drew various naked woman having a battle on the astral plane. Went to English, was nicely awake and alert this lesson, for another Hopkin's poem I can't be arsed with. handed in my CitR draft, being told that the final thing is to be sent off on Monday. Me and the other girl are the only two still doing it (but at least I've being TRYING to do it since everyone else). Then attended a meeting of the school arts magazine group. Down a few members from last time, but yeah. Helped sign letters and out them in envelopes. Had a minor arguement with the girl who lives me (also on the team) because she is the shittest art critic I've ever known. A complete prude. She thought the Liberty Leading The people (aka Coldplay album cover) was tasteless or whatever. Such an idiot sometimes. Gah. Got a part in the artist-in-residence's short film. Had my tongue check-up. Agreed to do speech therapy at some point. Watched E.R double-bill. *stares into space*

Garbage is their best, their rawest. They then made an effortless transition into more mainstream but great success with Version 2.0. Not sure if beautifulgarbage is your sort of thing, very different style for them, but some nice songs on it. I think Bleed Like Me would appeal to you though.
