I finally got Neko Case off Chair. I like it. *shrugs* It's good, and will probably grow on me, but on a forum about a certain artist I won't name, they were all creaming over her. Hmm. The album cover/booklet is more fun than the music, but I suppose I'll have to diffrentiate the two.

ooh, that might be cool. Bearing in mind I'm not a particularly "comic"-y drawer...strangely, since that what I drew for years. But I probably could If I tried hard enough.

Yeah I went into a comic shop and bought that and the famous 80's one with Cyclops holding Dark Phoenix's "dead" body for like...£3 total. I'm sure they're worth a bit.

I think it works better in some contexts than others. In trippier, more enchanting/whatever music, It wouldn't really fit. But in my traditional acoustic or plain rock music I think it's alright. I remember quite liking it in Beautiful Stranger by Madonna and others that slip my mind. I like in a Tori Amos song (In The Springtime Of His Voodoo), one of her more whacked out ones, in the first high-pitched verse, she sings, "Standing on a corner in Winslow, Arizona - Quite sure I'm in the wrong song..", which is amusing, but not strictly the same. I assume thats some refeence to the fact a lot of the tracks on that album were single tracks/improvised in parts, so she might have made bits up while recording.

I love! I always loved the 90's X-Men. And whenever I think about writing a joke mini-series, I set it just during my favourite period in time, ignoring everything after it. Come. The. Fuck. On.

Attention. And she got it. She gets talked about. And the public are duped into seeing her as some warholian creature of awe. Fact is, she's getting off on it, and in a way I love that she's managed to dress up all silly and make people think she's the second coming of jesus just by how she appears. But yes, it's more annoying than anything. I hope after her hype has died down/for future albums she gets a life. I like her piano stuff however.

The middle two are far better than the outer two. And out of those two, I prefer Dan's, but that's cause landscapes bore me more often than not. I'm not a fan of the rubbery figure in the far left one, but it looks conscientiously painted. But yeah. Dan's ftw by far.

Mmm. While I've warmed to her music as purely pop fizz, I find the personality she puts on annoying. From what I gather it's intentionally fake, tying into the theme of the album being about the obsession with fame and stuff. So...all her OTT behaviour is meant to reflect that? She's just annoying. I like unique/quirky fashion/people, but it's totally superficial. If her music supported the rest of her image I'd be more forgiving.

How do you know? The only thing I could see different to having this and going is the "guilt" or whatever of knowing that it was a lie, and you hadn't actually gone. Technically the actual memories would be just as good/bad. -
I gave in to the man. £15 For 10 episodes, ouch. I still feel like a douche for buying all the box sets individually literally the week before that huge slash on the collected set happened. Could have saved myself about 70 quid. (assuming I have to spend about 20 quid for the final 10 too).

I finally got the infernal plastic tag that was somehow permanently attached off my sunglasses. Yay, I can finally wear them. Not done much all day, felt horrible this morning (and was off), bt only done bits and bobs of the English I need to. I have a triple free in the morning tomorrow to finish this bit, then start/finish another essay.

Defo. Now art's done and dusted, I won't feel bad about drawing anything non-school related. But the revision and shix.

I drew the first cover to my 6-issue mini-series, Incongruous X-Men (title up for debate). It's not in continuity. The first issue is all from Rogue's point-of-view, a few days after fully absorbing Ms.Marvel. Generally how she deals with the days after a death. It'll be great. Each issue will be self-contained, but might tie together loosely. The second issue deals with Havok and Polaris' relationship. Quite a bad drawing, but I was sketching while Chair was hogging my computer.
