  1. Disturbing = bad? Since when? The book is brilliant. And not like the film at all, really. Both books are good. I find some of the setting in the second one a bit more interesting actually. But yeah, I like the look of Alice by Burton..though those character stills looks a bit fake (not saying they are, but they have a look about them). Helena Bonham Carter is a legendess.
  2. I know music that is associated with memories can "transport" you places in your mind, but everytime I listen to The Execution Of All Things by Rilo Kiley, I get a really strong feeling of being back in Florida, like my entire sensory perception is different. My awareness of the space around me (the air and stuff) is completely new. But I didn't have the album until after I came back from Florida. I did however buy my first Rilo Kiley album there...I don't think that has much to do with it though. It's not even that nice a feeling. Might just be for how unusual it is.
  3. Should be in bed, school tomorrow, though we have no lessons or anything. Just relaxed all day, think some people went out, but I couldn't be arsed. Watched another episode of The Wire, OH BUMs! Just remembered I'm 4 episodes or something behind on Brothers and Sisters. Will have to watch another tomorrow night, and then some next week before they disappear from 4OD.
  4. One paragraph in and I already love him; Basically a summary of the first for me, and I assume the second from what I hear. Even noted the weariness which made me fall asleep in the first (hadn't happened before or since in a film, whilst sober).
  5. Yeah Chair's got mixed up logic there. I've given them a cursory listen a while ago, and can't be arsed trying again. Knowing Chair though, I probably will like them, but it seemed kinda dull last time.
  6. Minority Report For my entire life, I assumed this was a Bourne esque, but trashy special effects action film. Explosions etc. Instead, In read in Radio Times that it's a Philip K. Dick story, and that it was good. I really enjoyed it, not what I expected at all, all those ethical issues I love in Sci-fi stuff (lots of elements found in BSG in this). Tom Cruise was good, I thought. Not my favourite actor...he seems to me to be the same person in every film? Maybe just me. But no, very interesting and some excellent set pieces. I haven't read the original story, so I don't know how much I can pin on Spielberg, but the "cute/innocent kid" quota was filled in this too. Which always annoyed me. And the very end made me go "eww". Maybe that's in the book though. 8/10
  7. I never feel proper. Like...a lot of people (boys) in my year seem proper to me. Not adult, but I don't know. More able (in my mind's eye) to adapt to independant life, as I see it. In a way, I hate the fact I'm pursuing art in further education, as I see very little stability coming from it. But then I'm a bit of a pessimist. Stability is one thing I think I really crave, deep down. Or at least constancy. Obviously I love creativity and change on the surface, but it's scary too.
  8. Each to his own, but I get a bit sick of stuff that is too "cartoony" and slick, after a while. Which is why my like of Madureira has waned. Quitely's X-men was just beautiful, and clean, but...intricate. I still love the main title page of E is for Extinction, with the rectangles representing each X-Men. You can see his roots in underground comics in his linework.
  9. I chose Room K... (I'll edit in once I read your post Daz) --- Daz, just pretend that this IS room K. Or change what K and B have behind them. Anyway. I'll investiagte the walls, despite preferring he died.
  10. Jim Lee certainly is great, and all his art feels really "definitive". As though you can tell an image he makes could be the standard one used on wikipedia/in books and so on. It gets a bit samey when you realise every man or woman looks roughly the same as each other, though.
  11. X-Men Next Dimension Not played this fighting game in about 3 years, but i thought I may as well. When I was 12 (or however old I was), I had no idea what the squiggly arrow + another button meant on the moves screen, and it wasn't explained in the booklet, so I had access to no decent moves except the obvious charged specials. Coming back now, I realised that it meant I had to spin the control stick, but it's so fiddly and hard, and after a while sore, that I'd prefer to just punch them to death. Pretty shit graphics too. I liekd the expansive arenas though, where you moved into different sections. And I hate how bad the script/voice acting is except Patrick Stewart. I love/hate how it gets 12+ because Psylocke randomly swears, as she is, of course, a rowdy londoner. I just can't imagine her screaming "Bugga this!" while psi-scanning someone in the comics like she does in this. Bad/10
  12. Vote: Ellemeister
  13. Bear in mind, by New X-Men, I don't mean; I mean; --- I used to love Madureira. My first X-Men issue was the one where Sabretooth tricks Boom Boom into letting him free, and he savages Psylocke. (I was 8, and loved) He was the artist there. However, I'm much more of a Kubert brothers (specifically Andy) fan now. Frank Quitely is very unique and I love him. [/expressed that enough]
  14. Get New X-Men, form 2001 onwards. Great. Grant Morrison.
  15. Invincible.
  16. Got my dad one of those Off The Ceiling cards with those old black and white images with the funny captions underneath, about a dad saying books are far better than watching Tv, so hid children sat all day, watching books.
  17. Change Vote: Gizmo The lack of solid info so far in this game is annoying.
  18. I only watched Scrubs casually, watched like 3 episodes total last few years, but I was never overly keen on the Janitor. He didn't add much.
  19. I have no agressive power whatsoever, except double-vote. And I can only vote on even days. Other than that, it's something about keywords that I don't quite understand, Benign, being one of them. I'm looking the other half of me, (I think I'm schizophrenic), but my other doesn't know they're split. They should have a keyword though.
  20. Lol! It's also not any of the nonplayable characters or Julia Carpenter. EDIT: Tricked by next page.
  21. OMG Why would you again? Unless you get it all shaved off. I hate when people shave it all off except a few tiny plaits. Go Sinead O Connor stylee!
  22. I'm going to come out and say that I targeted Nintendohnut last night too, and I am most definitely not a killer. I have no useful power, I'm trying to find my other half or something like that. I assume once that happens I get a power of some sort. So that would make Ellmeister the killer? Unless other people targeted Nintendohnut too. I don't think I'm a "goon". Let me check. Oh. Benign? Apparently that might help me find my star-crossed partner?
  23. Chair said this a while back, meaning one has to jus list off all the playable women in the game. It's not Black Cat, she's not in MUA, Black Widow is, but it's not her. Close (sort of ).
  24. Not saying that a war is gonna happen, but it just pointlessly divides us, were there a war. We're just stronger as one, aren't we? I admitedly don't know all the facts, but it just seems a bit nitpicky as an idea, Scottish idependance, and more just bitterness about events long before anyone was born.
  25. No, I think the spirit of Sonic The Hedgehog is indeed nestled within your calves.
