    *nods* But I had today to revise effectively (since I revised for other real exams up to now, and this is jut a resit i got a C in before), and for some reason, I suddenly contracted/got/caught depression. And instead I drew (quite good) pictures of female members of the X-Men, defaced several books and so forth. It's just...I can't do it. I can't revise properly today. Nothing to do with my usual laziness I don't think, I should be panicking. All the romantic shit is gone from my head anyway,

    I should be panic-revising for my resit tomorrow, but I've had a veil of depression over me all today. I can't concentrate on Keats/Wordsworth because I'm not interested. I doodled/went to sleep instead. Then threw my Lyrical Ballads to the table from the door, since I just found it, but it knocked over a glass of ribena my sister had left. If the examiners realised English shouldn't be a memory test, i'd be ok atm. But my hatred of what I have to study today (it's tomorrow, had other exams to revise for before today) combined with this strange depressive mood I have today just means I may as well just not sit it. I'm not taking anything in. Oh no wait. "Blissfully haven'd from joy and pain". A line from Hyperion by Keats. Yay. I remember one line.

    Also bear in mind that Chair (and I, but far less so) plays in loads of mafia game on HCRealms.com, which is where we first started playing it. (and why he brought it over here) And there's like 13 games going on at any one time there. EDIT: So he knows his stuff, basically.

    We could just admit we have nothing solid and leave it for today, but then it's just pointlessly letting the mafia have another easy night. I assume I'll be roleblocked/silenced/killed in some fashion now that people know what I can do, too.

    Yes, but personally I (it might just be me) listen to stuff, and love it, but know that's not exactly great. Some of Tori Amos' stuff in recent years, it's more fun than anything, but it's not stellar. But I know that. Well in the unique case of this album (which I know you haven't heard, but bear with me), the lyrics are efectively long (like...13 minute) poems. And it's brilliant poetry. So that's what i was saying about me not liking the poetry of Keats overly (preferring other poets), but recognising that Keats is still a great great poet. (technically) As I said, I listen to a lot of utter shit. Britney Spears I occasionally listen to, and she really is a talentless piece of crap that really is just a face to her producer's music. But i get enjoyment out of some of her songs...but I know it's awful. (mostly) I know what you're saying though. I agree, and I make a point of giving most things a go before forming a strong opinion. And it's not disliking that gets me, disliking is perfectly fine. Seriously. People like and dislike all kinds of music. It's the lack of acknowledgment that certains bits of music are technically good. Not whether or not someone likes them. Anyway, I'm a in a depressed bad mood today so I was just looking for a fight.

    Who said that? Fact is, her music (or at least YS, her second album, the first album even grates on me in parts) is just outstanding. It's admirable, as there's nothing quite like it, and it's beautiful poetry. That's just a fact. (BUT DYSON DOESN'T HAVE TO LIKE THE MUSIC.) It's like...I should be revising Keats at teh moment for my English resit tomorrow. He's a great poet, but I'm not interested. I prefer Hopkins' poetry. That just my preference. Dyson could dislike her sound so much he could want to burn down her house, but that doesn't make her poetry/music bad. Voice is a different thing. IMO it's beautiful on YS. (as I say, grating somewhat on her other albums), but it still has idiosyncrasies, and if one doesn't like it, they'll never like her. I just dislike when people think what they like is amazing, and they don't is guff, black and white. EDIT: That's really..mixed-up. Effectively, it's great poetry, but you don't have to like it. But it would be nice if people recognised it for being good poetry, whether or not they enjoy how it's presented or not.

    No idea. It's not on Spotify, but seek out YS by her. It's amazing. Even if you end up not liking it, all must concede it's great.

    I gave them a listen, songs people recommended on here, and while it was good/fine/enjoyable, it didn't exactly pique my interests. Dunno. Not listened to an album in full, just a mixtape. Nothing against them at all, but just never been interested. I'm more excited about Joanna Newsom tentative new album release in september.
