I'd rather a Finding Nemo 2, tbh. Finding Nemo: Relishing The Fact. Cars was so meh. I didn't hate it, but it didn't get a positive reaction either.

It was funny...as usual, it's the dialogue that's the best thing about it, and Sue the best in that regard. It felt really obvious they had to say amazing things about Madonna, which came off as a bit forced. Like when the guys in the club say she's hot. Um... No. The music was the usual unbearable glee stuff...dunno how they consistantly make everything sound so awful. Anyway. Santana had a brilliant voice for that 1 line she did...why do they keep insisting "Give me a cough drop" Quinn sings when they have real voices to use? Cunts. I suppose it was good as exposure for Madonna's older stuff to the billions who watch glee...- 3920 replies

Well I guess that's personal taste. But I do think that his very tongue-in-cheek faux-noir writing of this comic would fit perfectly with his art, just like Sin City (which is kinda what it seems he was trying to recreate with this series, with varying degrees of success). I'm actually quite stunned. I want the bottom one (lol...) as a poster.

I like the Mario one a lot!

Got an overwhelmingly good reaction to my little (22 second) stop-motion video of a love story between 2 chairs. It was a development piece, really quite shabby, with the pacing being really off in the first half...so that was nice (and unexpected). Got some nice stuff planned for the weekend..seeing a friend tomorrow day, then I think there's 2 things tomorrow night, tutor's birthday and then a friends "Alice in Wonderland" party. Then on Sunday another friend's birthday so drinks.

It's not a huge amount for an action film that will require a lot of cgi and post-production stuff. As well as set-construction etc.

About to read issue 7 of it, and it's...interesting. Personally I think it's Jim Lee's art that makes the whole thing seem so weird and just wrong. If Miller was illustratiing it himself (and so making it more clearly a prequel to the DK books), I think it would all gel better. While Lee's artwork is obviously good and nice, and the juxtaposition of "definitive" Batman art with really jarring writing and stories is amusing, I think ultimately I would vastly have preferred if Frank had just done another artistic collaboration with Lynn Varley. It's not just the art, obviously, but yeah. I don't think it helps. The alternate covers provided for some of the issues done by Miller are much more in line with the tone overall;

A friend at college reads loads of comics, (which is great, cause apart from a select few, hardly anyone I know does) and he said Red Son was great. I want to read All-Star Batman and see the joke atm though.

Nice that they're bringing back Looney Tunes in a new form. Hope it's good.

Who would have copyright over Arrowette? She's probably the most forgotten hero in DC comics. :p Plus I assume that's all over, seems everybody is appearing in Brave and the Bold atm.

I'll be buying that. And no, it is just called Crystal Castles again. The cover is awesome too. --- This too is great: Kaleidoscope - Kelis Kelis is so much more than Milkshake (though that's good IMO).

"Of course" is actually the latest phrase I think...unless you count "I'm going to be sick" but that feels temporary (it was in a very unique context).

Just arrange an album listening party, where it's total silence until the album ends, then thoughts are shared. I'd go to that.

... Just use the actual team or don't. Artemis? Fuck off. Arrowette or nothing, in her red outfit. Noticed how Aqualad is quite literally, the "token black guy". He's not black in the comics, making him so here just seems silly. Use an actual black character if you want to be completely PC. Ughghg But DC cartoons are usually awesome so we'll see.

I forgot about Liz Phair. Definition of a "sell-out". This is one of the only albums I have never ever got tired of, I can put it on whenever and am always in the mood, it's just bloody amazing. THIS is awful. No one else here will know or care though.

Swimming is lovely when written down/said, as it gives the impression of the action itself. Similar with Loop. I just imagine Wonder Woman trapping someone really gently in her lasso as someone says it.

- Went to college to start the 2-day project based on the past two days "field trips" - Couldn't think of anything because I hate 2 days, and I hate rocks and chairs (the two things I'd done). - Decided to do an animation, realised it wouldn't work, then talked to my tutor. Decided I'd do a stop-motion-y thing after he said it's not meant to be a big final piece, it's only 2 days etc. - Went home. - Listened to Kelis' life. Watched Angel. - Took a long time taking photos of the story of 2 chairs falling in love.

I'm gonna buy Season 2 next month. I did love the fact the narrator clearly exaggerates stuff, like when he says Alyson Hannigans character leapt from her window to the street, then adds that it may not have happened, but that's what he likes to think (or whatever the scene was). One thing though, wouldn't the kids just force him to ACTUALLY tell them how he met their mother, rather than going on about stuff they don't want to hear? Or just ask their mum?- 3920 replies

That looks alright. Sometimes the animation styles they choose for the animatied movies really annoys me. Especially when they struck perfection with Bruce Timm's animated DCU in the first place (well...second. The 1998 updated style is the definitive one I suppose). -- Just finished all of All-Star Superman. Genuinely a stunning series, so concise yet so quintessentially Superman in all his silver-age glory. I just love Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely so much. It was actually a moving, intelligent, action-packed story, told of 12 issues (seems like more, so much happens!). I love. Considering I'm so ambivalent to Superman.

I don't a favourite word, but atm I like words that *doesn't know how to say it properly* are "-a" versions of the original, to indicate a multitude. i.e Americana, Erotica, Exotica

Of course. What else? --- In the breaking of the morning you'll be dancing on the soft lawn You'll be sinking at the anchor that stopped you from taking my gold You'll be running up the highway singing "I'm the king the king of you all!" When you look back to where you started I'll be there waving you on. I Speak Because I Can - Laura Marling
