  1. The Alien quadrilogy is more than just nice. It's fucking lovely.
  2. I've never got on well with Spotify, it's always slow or laggy for me, and it doesn't feel official enough when you play a song (plus a tonne of people aren't on it, most notably Joanna bloody Newsom). But I'll try this out and see for myself. EDIT: It's currently loading all my shiz...at first it stopped at 600 tracks and then it said something about "only adding" certain files, but then it kept going. 1st shit thing though; it doesn't play any files with DRM protection. That's shitty. Bought a lot of my favourite albums from iTunes...
  3. Calm down. I like it more than most seem to, but even so...
  4. Just finished re-reading The Dark Knight Strikes Again by Frank Miller. I love. So much. The art is my favourite thing and I love how the story is genuinely funny, but moving as well. I don't get the (relative) hate, other than the fact it's not the same thing as the first one. Which is hardly something to criticise, it arrived 20 years later and is responding to a different society/politics etc. I actually lol'd at some of the random Tv presenters; the crazy manga one that appears for no reason, and the one near the end called Clyt, wearing one of those full burka things.
  5. Ugh..done no work today! Went into college this morning to use their printer...spent a good 40 mins getting all the images, only to find they were out of black ink..so then decided I may as well just deal with life and do something else. Thought about drawing in churches as my observational drawing starting point, so said I was gonna do that. Walked home first, planning to have lunch then go, but I never did. I wish I just had. Should've just gone straight from college.
  6. I think movies are usually crafted in such a way that emotions will still be evoked, regardless of how long you've known the character. Whether this is pulled off or not is a different story. And yes, it generally works 100% better with a small amount of characters/a single lead. But yeah...I don't think there's a set "yes" or "no" answer...The Hours is about 3+ main characters and all are artfully put across on screen and we connect with them all. Sometimes not everything needs to be shown/known for everything to be understood. [/pretentious-sounding]
  7. Amelie A gorgeous film. Never seen before, one of those ones "everyone else" had. Very nicely done. 9/10
  8. How are dual-type starters stupid? That makes no sense. It only added depth, and made the whole thing more interesting.
  9. Just caught up with Justice League from the Blackest Night tie-ins up to the present, and am actually enjoying the new team. When I saw the pics I was underwhelmed, as it felt too inconcsice, and basically just full of Teen Titans. But it's written enjoyably, and nothing the fact it's so disconnected. I liked how Green Lantern and Black Canary were talking amongst themselves in the meetings. Felt like a nice (correct) touch, as they're the only two old timers there (apart from Atom). And Donna Troy feels like an appropriate leader. I hate Starfire though, she brings down the whole affair by feeling cheap and common.
  10. I thought I posted something here after Dan? Oh well. I said that I will do, maybe starting this weekend.
  11. So yeah I'm doing "superheroes" for my next big project, or rather using the inagery and sybolism of superheroes, an possibily connecting it to some interesting ancient religious/spiritual diagram stuff, but that's ages away yet. Just looking at the concept of archetypes, and how Grant Morrison wrote his JLA team to be an allegory of the Green Gods...right now I'm seeing how to fit DC super-heroes into Jungian story archetypes, and my interpretation of the JLA team is too essential; Superman = Hero Batman = Wise Old Man Green Lantern = The Witch (it makes sense if you read what it entails) Wonder Woman = Earth Mother Plastic Man = Trickster Martian Manhunter = Magician Lois Lane = Maiden (intrinsically tied to the Hero) I'm so tempted to leave out Manhunter, he lowers the tone by not bringing anything needed or unique. But then 7 is the magic number. Dunno why I posted that, and I'm really loosely taking Jung's jokes as my own, but I love the concept of 7, and how it's so powerful and recurring, even if one of the 7 isn't even on the team. (And I love how Flash isn't there. Sorry)
  12. Look behind posters in-store, it may be a front for Team Rocket.
  13. I have no idea what Half-Caste poem you speak of is.
  14. Woke up at 7, 40 minutes earlier than usual, but I love savouring the day. Looked at the clock and it was half 8. An hour and a half and all I'd done was watch an Angel episode...so maybe I blacked out/had an out of body experience or something. I didn't even have breakfast. Got my presentation on my next project this morning ugh. I hate hate hate.
  15. Pokemon Half-Caste
  16. I'm unfazed by Esme, and I haven't analysed Autumn since I first got the album, but wasn't blown away.
  17. Paj's Amazing Collection Super Mario Galaxy Mario Kart Wii Spider-Man: Web of Shadows Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2 Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World Super Smash Bros. Brawl New Super Mario Bros. Wii Play (or whatever one of those extra party games discs is called) Think that's it for me. Paj's Sister's Collection Trauma Center: New Blood Babysitting Party Wii Music Yeah that looks about right. We're clearly hardcore gamers. :p
  18. Why of course.
  19. Anyone who isn't Team Jacob is a filthy mudblood. He's the only decent person in the whole franchise (or the movies at least). The only one who wouldn't make you want to claw out your own eyes just being around them. Bella's such a twat. Edward's a twat too, but she's worse for falling in line with him, when Jacob and her bitchy friend from Up In The Air are so much more interesting, and hint at having more than 1 dimension to them.
  20. Went to a nice (expensive) bar for my friends birthday, college tomorrow for all of us so people were drinking a few and enjoying each other's company. I think the highlight of the night was when I was (we think, no one was really sure what was going on) chatted up by a french man. He just came over and was spraffing on in what I think was a mixture of french, english and spanish, about fiestas, buying me a drink and other really odd hand signals. He was clearly high/drunk. I was just like "...thanks...but...non". Not even a day into having pink hair... *shakes head*
  21. One of my favourite ever remixes; Improves vastly on the original (though I quite liked that back in the day), making it so fucking orgasmic. I just love how it builds in intensity throughout until the overlayed vocals/beats.
  22. I've heard that Heads Will Roll music in clubs before I think. It's loverly. Hole too...loved them for years though, and seeing them very soon! But for some reason I never loved the Celebrity Skin album as much as I've been told I should. It's all good, but the sounds I hear just aren't as appealing as Live Through This.
  23. It's not dry so I can't give a realistic impression yet. I can however tell you it's the patchiest dye job ever. Some bits are just brown (same bits that wouldn't take the bleach beforehand too), but it somewhat adds. Loads of white bits are still there from the bleach too. Oh well. Nothing can compare to this familiar feeling, as Moloko would say.
  24. I've got pink hair now. Life's Too Good by the Sugarcubes is blowing me alternately hot and cool. (both being appreciated though) I just realised that Bjork doesn't use guitars in any of her solo work. But all her bands beforehand were entirely rock-based. Hmm. Her solo stuff is better anyway, but interesting that I never noticed before.
