  1. It's the small circle thing that intrigues me most. Just cause It's so bizarre/vaguely described.
  2. SO much this week! Batman 702 Wonder Woman 602 Astonishing X-Men 35 X-Men Legacy Guarding the Globe Storm + Gambit Avengers Justice League of America and probs more. Quite liking the new Wondy so far. EDIT: Okay, Curse of the Mutants: Storm and Gambit is very possibly my favourite comic from 2010 so far...or at least within the X-stable. Brilliant, just note-perfect and what I miss about the X-Men these days. Funny, everyone's in character, it's action packed, with loads of "Yes!" moments. All in a single (slightly larger than normal) issue. The page of Gambit walking through the battle to whack the vampire woman with his bo staff, the Northstar/Dazzler team-up Twilight reference...Emma being written brilliantly.... And of course, Chris Bachalo is essential. Who is this stunning writer though? Out of the shadows. I think I'll buy the issue itself, just to keep.
  3. Yeah, love that story (by my 2 faves, Morrison and Quitely of course ). People have pointed out the bizarre hidden message on the cover: STFU is spelled out around Donna in debris, and a random "F". :p
  4. Don't you mean 702...? I'm liking these "missing R.I.P" chapters. I stopped reading ROBW, but might read it all properly soon. now I've read RIP and Final Crisis. --- JLA 50 cover I know I'm the only person here who reads JLA (it's nothing that amazing, I just enjoy the team), but this has me excited. I hope Ethan Van Sciver is doing interior art too, I'm sick of Bagley's art in JLA. I find the team really interesting, as I said, how a lot of the Big 7 roles are now filled with female counterparts, and are now led by Donna Troy (Wonder Woman substitute) as opposed to the "Super" person. And Dick Grayson Batman is totally different to Bruce Batman (obviously). And Congo Bill and Starman add so much.
  5. Was I wrong about 61? Your reply made it sound like I was right but it's still unchecked on the main list...
  6. I'm bad with money as until next month or so, I've just received an allowance all my life, not having to support myself, as I lived at home throughout school, and then did my foundation course in Edinburgh, so lived at home obvs. I'd spend my money quite freely on things I want, like books, DVD's or CD's, but I do know that I can budget if I wanted to. I just haven't in ages. I'm incredibly stingy with things like bus fares and going into town. I hate the concept of paying to get into clubs, expensive drinks etc. That money could have bought me a movie or a book or something (or I could have just saved it). Even worse is when it's not even a notable night out.
  7. The party don't start till she walks in/she's hilarious/lovely otherwise, so I daren't. Anyone else though... PS.
  8. A brilliant album. I hate hate hate people who are afraid of "old things". A good friend of mine has decent music taste, but ONLY listens to "new" stuff. He can't listen to anything pre-90's. And my other friend said she hates watching "old" films. When I asked her definition of "old", she said "before the 90's."
  9. First time I heard this. Pretty crap. Same with Jungle...it's all insipid and trying to be cooler than it is.
  10. Back on the comic/graphic novel discussion.. :P It annoys me how when TV shows and films are based on comic book series, they now claim to be based on graphic novels, as though that's more accepted (I suppose it generally is, it sounds more mature). Watchmen was a 12-issue series of comics. And I think was referred to as such before too. What annoyed me most was in the trailer for the upcoming Walking Dead TV show, it said "Based on the graphic novel by Robert Kirkman" which is bullshit. Walking Dead is a very successful, AMAZING comic series, currently at issue 78 or something. It's not a single graphic novel. If anything, Walking Dead is an argument in itself that comics aren't all just superhero fantasy and things like that, and SHOULD be taken seriously (obviously we in the know aren't so silly as to assume that would be the case with superhero titles anyway). That annoyed me.
  11. Just finished Episode 3 of this new series, written and starring Simon Amstell. It's a semi-autobiographical (in that he plays himself basically, in a fictionalised/exaggerated account of what were presumably real events) sitcom (but not filmed shitely on a set with canned laughter), set around every time his family all get together. I started watching because it had the woman from Nighty Night (who plays Kathy) in it, and it's really, really good. Gets better, and funnier each episode. Right up my alley, no stupid humour, it's all expertly observed characterisation and awkwardness. It makes no concessions in an attempt to be funnier/be more appealing (IMO). I don't even like Simon Amstell, but this is great. Recommended. You have to stick with it. Iplayer Link
  12. Went driving, was going well (I'm really improved/have a much better mindset than I did a while ago) then a woman told me I had a flat tire. So my car is now parked (safely) a fair bit away from my house. Neither me nor my family friend (who was with me) knew how to change tires, but in any case, the spare tire seemed to have no tools around with which to unclamp it. So yeah.
  13. Watchers/followers/whatever aren't always mentioned in the write-up, as they aren't actively part of the action. (Not always the case) I say Vote: Zell for the sake of geting things going.
  14. On that note - First Person Shooters/Games. I'm hopeless with them. Hate hate hate. I hate not being to control the character properly, like having to turn and move with different joysticks, and then not being to tell what's going on at all. I only ever enjoyed Halo multiplayer when it was set to the only weapon being swords.
  15. You were town protector (a Doctor role), I just had to confuse things by making your character (Pixie) doctor. Her power is to teleport around, saving people. But yeah, you were a doctor, the rest was flavour text.
  16. It's really annoying though, cause obviously his Supes is still the "same" - the the change in Wonder Woman is completely different, and we don't know how it affects the rest of the DCU, or if they just won't mention her until a status quo is returned to. And what's Cassie Sandsmark's say in all this?
  17. ??! Hardly. So What is hardly her magnum opus, but Funhouse still had some good songs on it. Some of her best even (better than on I'm Not Dead, which had such horrible ones like 13 Year Old Self or whatever, and I Got Money Now). I hate the title track of Funhouse, but the rest are good.
  18. I also want to know. It's really not that funny, ever, and just looks like you were bored and messed around with the video program. I know other people do it, but it's still rubbish.
  19. Looks good. I like how it clearly has a decent budget. It's not like a BBC show.
  20. *Hasn't read rest of thread* MSN is very 2006. Facebook is 100x more useful, seeing as it has MSN built in, effectively. Not used MSN in donkeys, and last few years only ever spoke to people on it by mistake, as it used to load automatically when I turned my mac on. Now that's stopped, I'm incommunicado.
  21. Batman: The Animated Series X-Men Comics, and their Jim Lee-designed costumes. "Pterodactyl!" <3
