  1. I only Seal song I know I really like. I used to think I preferred the Alanis Morissette version. Then I got a life. --- Off Erotica, the album everyone seems to forget Madonna did - the first one that felt like a REAL album by a REAL artist (as opposed to "a pop singer's newest shart-topper". Coincidentally her first non-huge success. Such brilliant production and vocal delivery throughout.
  2. --- I gave the best proposal in today's documentary proposal session. Not being biased, but it clearly was. The teachers came when I was done. Called it "marvelous", used me as an example of a well-researched and thought out exploration of the topic. Kept referring to me while criticising other people's proposals. I knew It would stun as I was writing it (if I just cut out the unnecessary prerequisite modesty), but I didn't know how much. Yes. You may. You may lick it. --- Also I watched Showgirls. You ARE a whore, darlin'. I loved how the main character was so irrationally angry at everything. And has a half-stunning, half-whorish face. I don't understand why It's considered one of the worst films ever. Maybe relative to the budget/fact it was a mainstream release intended to be great with a famous director, but really it's just a normal shite film that technically stuns if you let it.
  3. I'm more mainstream now than when I was in school. (in terms what I spend my time listening to, not what I appreciate as good music) Secondary school was where I discovered the music that changed me/profoundly affected me. Björk Tori Amos (Oh LAWD my sixteen year old self was obsessed) PJ Harvey And like....everyone else I'm stunned by, basically. I only got real music taste/interest in music beyond chart stuff from age 15+.
  4. Throughout my dream last night a piano refrain/reverie/what'eer the right term is played. Part of the dream was the fact I loved it but it felt uncomfortably familiar. Found out what the song was on the drunken walk home. Of all songs to be in my dream, the one I paid no attention to.
  5. I didn't see it up close, but when I was in Florida in 2005, I (and everyone else) turned to look up at a shuttle being launched into space. Very unique sight, even from far away. Apparently it was so monumental since it was the first since that one that burned up in 2003 or something?
  6. It's too late for American gun laws to be changed. We just have to deal with the idiocy of them.
  7. A thread to post things you have recently borrowed. Could be from a library, from a friend..could be stolen that you tell people you "borrowed". I knew (yet somehow didn't bother actually realising) that Knights Park Campus library had so many stunning films that are on my invisible list of things to buy but never do. So today I borrowed: (Yes. I'm so ready) There were so many I was gagging to borrow, like Derek Jarman's stuff, and other mainstream films I kinda fancy seeing but can't be bothered paying for. But It was my first time using the library's fancy scanners/using it at all and the woman at the desk was really annoyed by my prescence (It was 8.50am and I was the only one there...). SO WHATCHALL BURROWED?!
  8. The costume's fine. I've decided. Let's just deal with it. These shots give no impression of the film whatsoever.

Stunning. Yeah, I'm in Block B of Seething Wells, first year Filmmaking. :)

  10. Cloyster is so stunning as is though. The one I always forget about from Generation 1, but love with all m' heart.
  11. I've always found dreams incredibly easy to decipher (in general terms).
  12. Although nothing Ultimate rivals Spidey in terms of consistant quality (apart from the very short Ultimates 1 and 2), I recommend Ultimate X-Men. It drops off in the latter third of the series (when Robert Kirkman, in a strange exhibition of completely dull writing, takes over), so you deal with it, but before that, it's excellent. Possibly more awesome than Ultimate Spider-Man, but just less consistantly good. I'm in an Ultimate X-Men mood though.
  13. Also YESSSSS at Robin Sparkles, Coolness. That song is forever in my head. I love "What it's all abouht!". And how it's a clear parody of Alanis Morissette's early canadian career.
  14. Sorry cunts. [/thread] I was also obsessed by this band when the film came out: I made my dad record the audio onto tape. Tthis was before youtube y'all, like 1998 or whatever it was. I'm still stunned.
  15. I have absolutely no idea what that drawing is trying to convey.
  16. You could make the Scizor/Pinsir of this generation be clear (yet unsubtle) references to Alien and Predator. That would stun me.
  17. He is risen.
  18. I love! So much.
  19. I'm seeing it again on Thursday. I haven't seen a film multiple times at the cinema (completely of my own free will - I saw Avatar 3 times due to various groups of people, and free tickets) since X-Men 2.
  20. The fact is
  21. I finally cracked the metaphorical nutshell that was my documentary idea/concept. I can now dive within and explore the depths. Until I find myself stuck again.
