The Last of Us Part I (2nd September 2022)

Been playing this for a while now that it's out on PS+ Super Bowl XLV Edition. It's basically an improved Watch Dogs. Which is great, because the first one is a good game by itself. Engaging missions stealthily is even better in this iteration and it plays beautifully. You can hack more things to create distractions or take down enemies, you can fly a drone to scout an area, you can bypass combat completely by using the remote-controlled small vehicle. The options are varied and a lot of fun. Side-missions and activities are enjoyable and range from races (drones, cars, bikes, sailboats, eKart) to actual small stories. What surprises me the most was: no typical Ubisoft-towers. I don't mind them (I actually like them) but it was quite unexpected to see them gone. A couple of things I don't like: the protagonist - he's (and yes, I'm gonna use that word because I'm a cool kid) cringe, just like the entire crew - never quite understood the criticism Aiden Pierce got in the first game; I enjoyed is story and his cold, revenge-driven ways the writing is also cringe - not funny at all driving is even worse - it feels sort of heavy and clunky sometimes there's a noticeable "lag" when taking corners; it's like a lag you experience in online games from time to time driving a motorcycle, however, is awesome (just as in the first game) These are minor issues, though, as the great gameplay from Watch Dogs has been improved and gameplay is king. Watch Dogs 2 is on its way to a 9/10. Let's see if it can reach it.

My favourite season is almost in full swing which means: Tea. Lots of tea. Needed one of these so I can stop buying teabags and be less wasteful They come in a 2-pack so my mom gets one, too

Immediately reminded me of this:

The Messenger I did The Thing: A masterpiece. 2D-platforming at its best.

You really don't

Wanna see a wonderful display of my video gaming skills? The Messenger brings it all out: And this always gets me

I'd be very surprised, to be honest. -

If only there were games in the Premium sub... -
Yup, if by that point the entirety of gaming hasn't left physical copies left for dead
-
Will most likely streamline production and hopefully increase the console's availability
-
Get it on Steam for your Steam Deck
-
Do it. And yes, the soundtrack is incredible.

It really is. It's also hilarious. Just reached the shop for the first time (again) and I remember just how funny the shopkeeper is Good to know. Checked a guide and the only missables are the shopkeeper's unskippable stories (which are a must read anyways ) and going through the Dark Cave without the "necessary" upgrade. Should be simple enough

True, I've played most of them. But...The Messenger. Played it on the Switch (man, must've been 100 years ago) and loved it. You know what? It's on PS+ The Greatest of All Time: Michael Jordan Edition. I guess it's time to play it again and get that Platinum

Thanks for the impressions. It's a game I've tried many times without getting far. I found it to be so boring that I couldn't bother to keep playing. Guess I will never give it another go again. Your and my gaming tastes mostly align
-
You can't just say that without giving at least one example And don't say Castlevania: Symphony of the Night because I KNOW IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE GOOD. I should play it, shouldn't I? Just checked and I have the Castlevania Requiem: Symphony of the Night & Rondo of Blood collection for my PS. I seem to have gotten all the trophies for Rondo of Blood. I don't remember playing it, though The last Metroidvania I played was Monster Sanctuary. Before that it was probably Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. Always tried to get into Axiom Verge but never stuck with it for more than one or two hours.

Maybe that's part of the reason why it's taking so long? Because they're developing for every console and their mother? That reminds me...I should play Hollow Knight again. Never understood the high praise it got. Not to say it's a bad game, I was just quite underwhelmed.

Oh yeah, I know. Just wanted to let you know what Glen meant. Not that I agree with it Agreed. Most topics have the platforms in the title anyways. A "Games" section and the "General Gaming Discussion" would be enough. -

You posted it in the "wrong" part of the forum -
Early birthday present: Ticket for the concert in Cologne. Royal Blood as special guests is amazing. Can't wait

Is that a rhetorical question? Of course there are. Microsoft has near unlimited spending power and they will use it. It's a shame...I wonder how long it takes for one of the huge spending powers to have the majority of the market in their hands
