  2. Not yet, also thinking about buying the first. They're supposed to be good. But apparently they have nothing to do with the first 2 Witcher games. I always thought they did Just seen this on reddit:
  3. [tweet]601186946988244992[/tweet] Info later this year...possibly meaning no DLC this year But hey, confirmation that it's coming is always good.
  4. That was a great read. Yes, the downgrade is there and it's undeniable but nonetheless: They created an awesome game and an incredible world. Optimization on consoles is not perfect, but it's still impressive when you consider the scope of The Witcher 3. And knowing that there will be plenty of patches/fixes you can expect the game to get better and better. A bit more honesty from the start would've be nice, but that's not how you do business, I guess. CD Projekt are great developers. In my opinion currently the best in video gaming. Couldn't play last night because of girlfriend-obligations Now she's at work and after my morning run I'll get back to exploring : peace:
  5. I've stopped reading S quite some time ago, because I didn't have the time to really dive into the novel. Now, just as I was ready to start again I found out that House of Leaves author Mark Z. Danielewski has released his new work: The Familiar (Volume One) One Rainy Day in May. Immediately ordered it and it arrived today. I finished the book I was currently reading (Night Film by Marisha Pessl - first half was great, then you could guess/knew what was going on, but the story kept on going...it turned into a chore in the second half) and started The Familiar (Volume One) One Rainy Day in May. Instantly captivating. It's the first volume of a 27-book-series. The author likened it to a TV-Series. Two or three volumes per year. Gonna be interesting 13 years
  6. I have really underestimated blocking/parrying. It's so useful.
  7. No idea, to be honest. I don't do them On Death March difficulty I sometimes die to level 3 wolves...
  8. Hm, I can see where you're coming from, but I can't share your sentiment. :p After 16 hours I still get amazed by certain areas. Especially at dawn. I entered a larger village (well, it can be called a city) when the sun set and it looked incredible. That's the best thing about The Witcher 3. Even if you don't find the visuals stunning, the world itself is amazing and the gameplay fits perfectly. : peace: I'm level 6...16 hours in 80% of the quests in my log have a recommended level of at least 10...
  9. Not sure if I've encountered a game breaking bug... Every readable quest item is normally moved to the "usable items" tab after you read them. You also get a quest or quest update from them. For example: Reading a map has always given me a new quest (treasure) hunt but now...whenever I read the map I have...nothing happens. It stays in the "quest items" tab and I don't get a quest. Same with some "smuggler's notes" I found. They remain in the "quest items"... Reloading an old save file/restarting the game doesn't help... Well, this kinda sucks...will move on for now. If it happens with more quest items...no idea what I'll do then. 15 hours in, I really don't want to restart. Edit: On the official The Witcher 3 forum I found a thread with two people having the same issue...hope it gets fixed soon.
  10. I tend to not talk much when playing games. Usually I just listen to what others say and mostly concentrate on gameplay. That's why I haven't participated in any NE-activity, yet.
  11. What difficulty is everybody playing on? Would love to know how battles are on a lower setting. Death March is tough. Not only the fights themselves, but resource management, too. Not being able to heal via meditation is not a small problem. That moment...I was speechless and in awe.
  12. Found this on reddit:
  13. Since I'd love to give the Trials of Osiris and Prison of Elders a go: Do I need to finish the story missions in order for them to unlock? Or are they available from the start and I'm just to dumb to find them. And concerning the Prison of Elders: I assume level 27 is way too low to be successful? Aaaaand one more thing: Do they both have matchmaking?
  14. Well, this trailer wasn't that bad. Might end up watching it. But probably only when it's out on BluRay and cheap to get.
  15. Or - and hold on to your dick, this may surprise you - he wants a both great and long game...and that is a reasonable desire. May get this, however I would love to get the amiibo version. But I think that's out of the question...for ever...
  16. Game crashed for me, too. I just wanted to read a letter... Thank God I save after everything I do. Won 3 horse races, got a nice Stamina boost for my horse and some coins. : peace: Opened up several treasure hunts which are way beyond my level Currently on my way to continue a sidequest, but will definitely get sidetracked and do all kinds of stuff that can be found on the journey Dis game... Can't wait to see what CD Projekt will deliver with DLC. Not that it's needed right now..plenty of content. I would love a performance/bugfix patch, though. But I'm sure they're working on it.
  17. Full blown RPG. Easily one of the best in years and I can say that after 10 hours playtime. Good reads: Eurogamer Review Eurogamer - "The Witcher 3 is a masterpiece of world building If you like what you read, buy it. :p
  18. Sorry @Daft I just wanted to stop. Did the first two story missions and got bored again... Think I'll need a much longer hiatus from this game.
  19. That's one awesome collector's edition I've reached a point where the main quest is too difficult. I can choose between two fights, but they are both tough as hell. That's not a problem, though. I will explore the world, play more Gwent (it's really great; simple mechanics, but depending on which cards you draw at the beginning of a round and how the opponent plays you have to develop a tactic on the fly and then it gets rather deep), hopefully find a Witcher's Contract which isn't 5 levels higher than mine and just enjoy the world. The Witcher 3 continuously give me a sense of wonder, something I've missed in a lot of video games lately.
  20. It's out? Damn, missed its release completely... Not sure if I should get it, though, because..you know...The Witcher. Edit: Just checked some reviews...looks like it's not very good
  21. Yeah, frame rate can a bit...moody Have encountered only one bug. I'll post a video later :p Other than that I've had no problems whatsoever. And as you've said: The game is still good. Visually it's stunning. Of course, on PS4 not as good as on PC but it still looks gorgeous. But more importantly: Gameplay, setting and pace are astonishingly great and well balanced. I can't stop...seriously. I took a break to eat and went straight back after I gobbled down the pasta
  22. Pro-tip for PS4 players: Swiping the touch pad up or down opens the map. Holding down the touch pad opens the inventory. Makes accessing both screens much easier. : peace: Found a large bandit camp. There is an area behind a wooden gate and there are two locked doors...I cannot find the key, though I figured it should be somewhere in the camp, maybe a bandit has it, but no... Bought a saddlebag which increases my maximum equip-load by 70. Holy shit, that's useful. However, that cost me more than half of my gold Also: Gwent is fucking amazing. I need more cards, though as I'm getting beaten left and right...
  23. Here I thought I did everything in White Orchard...how foolish of me. Guess, I'll travel back and explore some more. Hit-and-run. Even on the hardest difficulty that proved to be a good tactic. Can't remember if I used the mind-control-sign (whatever it's called), but if it works it'll make things easier.
  24. Managed to find some "relic" trousers. They're quite nice. Found them at a 'guarded treasure', its guardian: a level 15 monster...I ran to the chest, grabbed the loot and got the hell out of there Think I'll stick with the main quest for a while, as the first "proper" sidequest I got in the new area has a recommended level of 7 and I'm still only level 4. Most of the enemies I'm fighting at undisclosed locations are level 7 or higher, so I figure it's best to get some exp from the story.
  25. This just happened Nice aim. By the way, I love the combat. You have to watch everyone involved in the fight because unlike games á la Assassins Creed enemies don't wait until you kill one. They gang up on you. It makes combat quite tactical at times. Reached the second big area and got my ass handed to me in a bandit camp. Enemies are level 9, I'm level 4. That, however, wasn't the reason I died. I was simply too aggressive, too reckless.
