Sorry, this isn't a bump with amazing pictures I'm going to abuse this thread for some questions. @dan\-likes\-trees are possible the go-to guys for photography here (sorry if there are others that I forgot to mention). I'm interested in getting interested in photography. Yeah, sounds a bit weird but I'm looking for a new hobby and why not get some information about photography. I love this thread, I love looking at pictures and I think I may end up loving taking pictures myself. Sooo...where do I begin? I probably shouldn't just spent 300€ on a camera and go out to take pictures... However, if I do get a camera eventually I'd like to have a camera with best value-for-money and not start with a 50€ digital camera... Should I get a book? Some kind of introduction to photography? But without any means to try out what's written that would also be a waste of money. HELP.

Everything Nintendo has done in the past years. :p Just kidding. Well, not really, though. Gears of War. I don't like the setting and characters...maybe it changes throughout the game/series but that was the reason I stopped playing after a couple of hours. Crysis 2 and 3. Absolutely loved the first game. It was a technical achievement back in the day (8 years ago..."back in the day", he says ) and so much fun. The sequels...meh.

Now that there are three episodes out I bought it Really looking forward to it. I don't know anything about Life is Strange other than there is timetravel in it. And I love the idea of timetravel so this seems right up my alley. I also have The Wolf Among Us and the first season of The Walking Dead to play. Think I'll set up a plan to play one episode per week. Starting with Life is Strange Edit:

That was a great read. Yes, the downgrade is there and it's undeniable but nonetheless: They created an awesome game and an incredible world. Optimization on consoles is not perfect, but it's still impressive when you consider the scope of The Witcher 3. And knowing that there will be plenty of patches/fixes you can expect the game to get better and better. A bit more honesty from the start would've be nice, but that's not how you do business, I guess. CD Projekt are great developers. In my opinion currently the best in video gaming. Couldn't play last night because of girlfriend-obligations Now she's at work and after my morning run I'll get back to exploring : peace:

I've stopped reading S quite some time ago, because I didn't have the time to really dive into the novel. Now, just as I was ready to start again I found out that House of Leaves author Mark Z. Danielewski has released his new work: The Familiar (Volume One) One Rainy Day in May. Immediately ordered it and it arrived today. I finished the book I was currently reading (Night Film by Marisha Pessl - first half was great, then you could guess/knew what was going on, but the story kept on going...it turned into a chore in the second half) and started The Familiar (Volume One) One Rainy Day in May. Instantly captivating. It's the first volume of a 27-book-series. The author likened it to a TV-Series. Two or three volumes per year. Gonna be interesting 13 years

Hm, I can see where you're coming from, but I can't share your sentiment. :p After 16 hours I still get amazed by certain areas. Especially at dawn. I entered a larger village (well, it can be called a city) when the sun set and it looked incredible. That's the best thing about The Witcher 3. Even if you don't find the visuals stunning, the world itself is amazing and the gameplay fits perfectly. : peace: I'm level 6...16 hours in 80% of the quests in my log have a recommended level of at least 10...

Not sure if I've encountered a game breaking bug... Every readable quest item is normally moved to the "usable items" tab after you read them. You also get a quest or quest update from them. For example: Reading a map has always given me a new quest (treasure) hunt but now...whenever I read the map I have...nothing happens. It stays in the "quest items" tab and I don't get a quest. Same with some "smuggler's notes" I found. They remain in the "quest items"... Reloading an old save file/restarting the game doesn't help... Well, this kinda sucks...will move on for now. If it happens with more quest items...no idea what I'll do then. 15 hours in, I really don't want to restart. Edit: On the official The Witcher 3 forum I found a thread with two people having the same issue...hope it gets fixed soon.

I tend to not talk much when playing games. Usually I just listen to what others say and mostly concentrate on gameplay. That's why I haven't participated in any NE-activity, yet.

What difficulty is everybody playing on? Would love to know how battles are on a lower setting. Death March is tough. Not only the fights themselves, but resource management, too. Not being able to heal via meditation is not a small problem. That moment...I was speechless and in awe.

Or are they available from the start and I'm just to dumb to find them. And concerning the Prison of Elders: I assume level 27 is way too low to be successful? Sorry @Daft I just wanted to stop. Did the first two story missions and got bored again... Think I'll need a much longer hiatus from this game.

That's one awesome collector's edition I've reached a point where the main quest is too difficult. I can choose between two fights, but they are both tough as hell. That's not a problem, though. I will explore the world, play more Gwent (it's really great; simple mechanics, but depending on which cards you draw at the beginning of a round and how the opponent plays you have to develop a tactic on the fly and then it gets rather deep), hopefully find a Witcher's Contract which isn't 5 levels higher than mine and just enjoy the world. The Witcher 3 continuously give me a sense of wonder, something I've missed in a lot of video games lately.
