Had to use D-Dog as a buddy for a couple of side-ops. He's amazing. Will stick with Quiet for now, though. Unlocked the "Cover" command which helped me immensely during one mission. What's the deal with some side-ops being available to complete even though they are marked as completed?

Making a habit of looking away when the pre-mission credits are shown so I won't get spoiled. I don't think they are bad, though...knowing what to expect (especially in the case of Skulls) but not knowing when shit goes down is kinda cool. But not knowing at all what to expect is much better. Case in point:

Ah I see. It's probably Konami's fault. Well, there will be ways to obtain information that was cut from the game, so I won't really mind. I hope that Kojima will continue to make games on his own. Launch a Kickstarter or something.

I must be the only one who isn't annoyed or disappointed by the "lack" of cutscenes/story. So far I've listened to a lot of tapes during base management and it's been great. I don't think long cutscenes would work with Phantom Pain. But that's just me it seems.

Despite the online stuff being fucked up the first few days, I have to agree. Tell me about it Have played for 7 hours today. Currently sitting at 21% completion and 22 hours played. Think I'll easily reach the 100 hour mark with the singleplayer alone. Not sure if I dabble with FOB stuff (haven't unlocked it, yet). Maybe I'll enjoy it, maybe not. Even if not...singleplayer has got me hooked and I can't wait to do all kinds of crazy shit when I've unlocked everything. Dat Stealth Camo in the development list...will be a long journey until I can develop it, but I'm already giddy with excitement And in October Metal Gear Online will launch...I really hope it will be good... Just did some missions with Quiet as my buddy. She's awesome :awesome: Looks good, can handle a gun and doesn't talk. A man's dream. :p

Done the side-op missions that I mentioned in my last post. I now have a silenced tranq-sniper rifle. My life is complete. Need to complete - or rather start - mission 10. Have been absorbed in base management, side-ops, dispatch missions, gathering material, completing missions 11-13, looking at Quiet's boobs, developing gear, listening to tapes (they are awesome, Sutherland - and all the other voice actors - really shine during those dialogues/monologues), extracting soldiers, capturing animals, ... Oh my...so much to do and it hasn't been boring once in the 21 hours so far.

So my wife had an implant without telling me...

Yeah, me too. Was hoping thinking there'd be pics. Oh, you won't believe the shit that some women have to go through while on the pill. Have encountered everything from serious stomach pain, headaches, being incredibly tired, being incredibly moody, being incredibly annoying :p My current girlfriend suffered from neck pain and headaches with her first pill. She switched and had horrible stomach aches and now she switched again...let's see how that goes. -
Haven't tried any of the games, yet, but after reading some reviews I'm sad that Grow Home won instead of Armello

Mission 11 done. Obvious nod to MGS 3 there. Loved it. Such an intense mission. Now I'm almost 20 hours in and have reached Africa. Done the first mission there...the ways you can approach every tiny bit in the game are incredibly varied. This time, after I've extracted a soldier with a special skill I decided to be Rambo and kill everything A certain side-op just opened up:
-
Awesome work, man : peace: Haven't played this in quite some time (university obligations and then MGS V came along ). Looking forward to doint some co-op with the lady soon. Nope :p

Oh man, I just remembered something I didn't share. I'll put it in spoilers just in case, but it's something that happens in the very first mission after the prologue (and in a mission sometime later):
-
Have done another main mission (one of the first, needed to kill three peeps). Managed to extract all three, but the last one died because I forgot that fultoning people while a sandstorm is rampaging isn't the best of ideas 10 hours in now. Still can't believe how good this is.

7 hours of total playtime now. I just spent 1 hour and 20 minutes with that 'Bee mission'. Lots of planning has been made. Lots of plans have been scrapped because of either miserable execution (resulting in my execution ) or miscalculations of enemy placement/movement. Restarted some checkpoints, but my final run was pretty cool. I basically evaded every enemy soldier and found the target without being noticed. : peace: And the shit that went down after I acquired the objective...I was on the edge of my seat Halfway through that mission I realized how important equipment drops and supply drops are. Since you can basically carry only one secondary weapon as the second slot is always taken by your prosthetic arm, being able to have a lethal, suppressed pistol sent to you is amazing. Phantom Pain is revolutionizing open-ended gameplay for me. The game adapts to you and you have to adapt to the game in an endless cycle it seems. It always seems fresh and new, even though you eventually have all the tools at your disposal. This and The Witcher 3 are new benchmarks for basically any game of the genres they are part of (maybe even for games in any genre).

Fuck me this game's hard. I keep dying left and right. I love it Being stealthy is a lot more difficult than in the older games. I keep fucking up which always results in me becoming Rambo and having to kill everything. Enemies are tough, though.

If you have money to spare get this. It's amazing.

Haven't played for 36hours. Currently sitting at university and waiting for the Polymerase chain reaction to finish...1 1/2 hours of sitting around doing nothing. I want to play Have to do some work at home later today -.- but I have a couple of days for that so I'll spread that out Can't wait to get home and plaaayyy.
-
Can't believe how smoothly this game runs. Very impressed.

Did the Prologue and Episode 1 of Chapter 1. I'll say it again: The Prologue was the best opening I've ever experienced. And Chapter 1 probably gave me only a glimpse of what the game has in store. I took my time with the mission, but still went straight for the main goal because I wanted to unlock Mother Base 1 1/2 hours later I completed the objective Can't wait to spend more time with the game on Saturday and Sunday. Have to take a break until at least Friday due to obligations

Jeez. I need that. Couldn't get it anywhere in German online retailers. However I found a UK one that ships to Germany. So I ordered one
-
Picked it up. Oh my fucking God. I'm so excited Edit: I can't deal. Seriously, the best opening I have ever played/seen/experienced. I still cannot deal.
-
Yeah, remember Splatoon? Just kidding :p Great, games always coming out when I have work to do...
-
I've got several ideas for levels, but I can already see 1 million similar levels being done when I get the game later this year. Edit: Want to unlock every costume in one level?
-
It does look a lot better than StarFox but that doesn't really say much, does it? :p What strikes (heh) me the most is that there aren't many ships flying around? There's a lot of empty space... I can imagine this looking more interesting in tighter arenas with one-on-one dogfights.
