Been playing God of War III Remastered a little more and I can't believe how well it holds up, both graphically and from a gameplay standpoint. The latter is debatable since there hasn't been any shakeup in the formula, yet, but after a 4-year break from the series I find the the gameplay to be fun

@Hero\-of\-Time not sure if you've already said something about this but what do you think about enemy variety? I found it to be really lacking, especially in Shrines that have combat. -

One Piece really needs to start to get more interesting again...sometimes the pacing is just horrible. I need fights -
Played God of War III Remastered a little today and I'm not as burnt out on open world games as I was. Think I found my game for inbetween Horizon sessions. Uncovered more about the past. The story is really ineresting and very well written. For every question you get a (partial) answer many more arise. I like that.

16 hours in and it's amazing. Great story (so far), combat is absolutely incredible, it has the usual open-world tropes but they complement the main path nicely and from a technical standpoint it is nothing short of a masterpiece.

Amen to that.

Reached Meridian before work this morning. I basically just ran there because I wanted to see it, I figured that exploring could wait Didn't expect such a huge city. Oh man, can't wait to get back home and explore the surrounding areas. Edit: As incredible as this game is I think I'm a little burnt out on open world games after what now amounts to 53 hours of BotW + Horizon in 7 days. I'll tone down the time with Horizon and find a smaller game.

Fought my first Thunderjaw...didn't have time to set up traps because I actually just stumbled upon it as unbelievable as it sounds considering its size 7 potions and a shit load of ammo later the beast went down...holy fuck, that was amazing.

The 5:1 in the first leg was well deserved, the same result is way too high for the second leg...Happy we're through but shocked at how badly we played in the first half yesterday. Looking forward to tonights matches. Really hope Dortmund will make it through, would be great for Germany And no matter how Barcelona vs PSG ends it will be great...either Barcelona gets eliminated and I'm happy or we'll see a great match from Barcelona and a high scoring game and I'm happy Edit: Well, Barca in attack mode. Impressive! Edit²: Unbelievable. What a match. This is football!

Some great offers on the PSN store, even better for PS+ subscribers. I'm interested in Valkyria Chronicles Remastered (7.99€) and Hyper Light Drifter (9.09€). Think I'll buy one of them tonight. I'll let you guys know which one because it means it'll be free on PS+ in two or three months :p

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Wii U / Switch

I wish this was the same for me but that magic has been lost since Majora's Mask and Breath of the Wild didn't bring it back. But I am very happy that for many people BotW reignites or strengthens the flame Zelda has put into so many hearts of gamers -
Just bought some of the Shadow weapons and an armor that increases Stealth. My journey to Meridian begins.

I've almost finish exploring the first third of the world. When I'm done with that and completed the side quests I'll begin my journey to Meridian : peace: Found a 41% Damage Coil...pretty awesome.

Ok, if it bothers you I'll stop. It should be a QoL improvement for you.
-
Okay, am I doing it wrong? Do you just not like it? I don't understand.
-
If you own a Switch, nobody wants to hear why you bought it. Why is that not an option? If it's always positive it ceases to be an opinion and becomes a bias. This thread is called "General Switch Discussion". Having a discussion about why some people bought one and why some people didn't is something that fits here.

Indeed. Explained in the video

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Wii U / Switch

A mix between BotW and the old formula would be perfect. And by old formula I mean dungeons we've seen in the older games. -
Here's a pretty cool rally from earlier today. Love the game.

A video to show off some features of the new firmware update: [tweet]839461308336586752[/tweet] That party chat option in the quickmenu is such a great QoL improvement for people who play with friends regularly. I've been using it a lot during the beta.

The dynamic HUD is pretty neat but I gave the custom settings a go and am currently going with this: Which results in the following most of the time: When you lightly tap the touch pad the complete HUD shows for a few seconds. It's pretty awesome not having the HUD pop up every few seconds This is an option every open world game should have.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Wii U / Switch
drahkon replied to darkjak's topic in Nintendo Gaming
It's difficult to compare the two. For me, at least. While they are both open world games they are still very different. The Witcher 3's world feels...better? Simply because there is much more going on. Not only because there are a lot of little stories hidden in the game that you actually have an influence on, but also because the world is more densely packed with...everything, really. The flora and fauna make it much more interesting. Comparing the gameplay is very difficult because "open world" is the only genre the two share. I think you have to judge the games individually. I think game developers can learn a lot of BotW's approach to the open world genre, but Nintendo can learn a lot from other devs in that regard, as well. Here's something I said in the Horizon thread:
