  1. People are raving about the DualSense. Seems like the real deal. Here's hoping that these impressions convince devs to further pursue adding these mechanics to their games
  2. Just came back from a run, gonna watch all the footage after launch already waiting for the inevitable "this console is so ugly"-, "ugliest console ever", "urgh, look at this shitty design", "it's so big, whaaaaaa"-comparison pics/comments on here. Well...that didn't take long. Edit: Apologies to everyone just coming in to see footage and discussions. I just wanted to see whether my prediction came true. I should've kept it to myself. I won't change anything to this post so my mistake is still visible. Again: Sorry. Let's just enjoy some PS5 news
  3. Yeah, still debating what to do. I'd love to have the money in order to buy a next-gen game for the PS5 launch, but waiting might be better in the long run.
  4. Better late than never I'll probably won't make use of this, though, as I'm set on selling my copy. Not in the mood for Mario 64 and Galaxy.
  5. Well, that changed quite quickly. Once the game gets more challenging, the technical issues become even more annoying. To the point where I might just wait for a patch, which I hope is already in the works... Here's an example: So much clutter... And the more progress you make, the more enemies you fight which in turn results in more effects on screen...which leads to: Stutters/short freezes. Not so fun when it happens every 10 seconds. Quite a shame, as I really like the gameplay, but right now it's too frustrating to continue.
  6. Good decision. There's no real hype around it, it would've launched alongside games that will most likely steal the show and putting it on PS+ will save the game. If it's a good one Can't wait And now we finally have a thread. @Julius was too lazy to make one a few weeks ago. SHAME! Edit: Wanna know the name of someone who looks like a fool now? Here it is: drahkon I already made a thread back in June. Here it is Mods/admins, feel free to delete whichever you want. And feel free to ban me from the internet. @Julius Sorry for calling you out for something that...well...I actually did. But I still wanna shout SHAME at you, so: SHAME.
  7. @Mr_Odwin Nothing But Thieves' new album Moral Panic dropped. I think it's great. A good mix of quiet and heavier songs. The album's theme and lyrics often hit quite close to home... This one's is incredible:
  8. Played it for about 2 hours, here's what I think: it needs quite a bit of optimisation on Switch - long loading times, occasional stutter/short freezes and movement bugs can be annoying rebinding keys is a must add for the next patch have only played in handheld mode and the screen is too small - information about buffs/debuffs/status/monsters/etc fill way too much gameplay is a lot of fun - a great amount of mechanics are in play (e.g. familiars that grant you two skills, randomized weapons, relics providing passive abilities, scrolls that increase your stats) tactical Turn-based combat is enjoyable - you have to be careful with every turn and so far the difficulty is challenging but nothing too demanding classic Roguelite mechanics - permanent upgrades, shops, equipment that you lose when you die, etc. clean art style - very pretty sound and music just...exist...they're nothing special The technical issues are annoying but for me the gameplay more than makes for it.
  9. Welp, I bought it just now. Send help.
  10. I will never recruit him again if I don't have to. I don't like him.
  11. Continued my FFVI journey. Can't wait to see where the story's going. Loving the game, so far. It's been 5 hours of JRPG goodness Only having one "issue": The worldmap is non-existent with the emulator core I'm using. It's the only core that doesn't slow down the game during certain attacks in battles, but it does suffer from the "no map"-problem. It's not a huge deal, though. It's actually quite nice. With maps I tend to just look at them instead of taking in the actual world. With FFVI I'm getting familiar with the world and locations much more. I think it's time to always turn off maps in games if the option is available
  12. Personally, I don't care for his music or him as a person, but I do know that he is one of the biggest musicians (maybe even artists) out there right now. This is huge for the PlayStation brand. Whoever's responsible for Sony's marketing in recent months should get a raise.
  13. Sure hope so Also hope they have some actual next-gen only games to try out/show. I don't need to see PS4 games running on the new console. JUST GIVE ME SOME NEW DEMON'S SOULS GAMEPLAY.
  14. Yup, got it I read that Guard Leader's rage is insane at that stage of the game. However, it's so tedious to get him to show up. Not sure if I can be arsed much longer. I've tried for an hour
  15. Played a bit more of FFVI today. Usually I don't like characters splitting up and then having their own little journey for a while, but it's actually done quite well here. The sequence with Locke was fun and now I'm engaged in Sabin's troubles. Speaking of that man...he's quite remarkable: Also met Gau. He's weird And he's also the reason why I probably won't make a lot of progress for a while, given his unique mechanics. I NEED THOSE ENEMY SKILLS. Enjoying this game a lot. I do think, however, that battle frequency is a little too high and battle speed is a little too slow. Thank the all mighty Lord of Emulators for the fast forward button.
  16. platestation5.com And so it begins
  17. Not at all surprised. And it being a thing before doesn't make it any less shitty.
  18. @viceview51 Sorry, but we have to play this round sometime next week. I won't have time over the weekend.
  19. Again: Can't compare the vanilla release with the patched version, but I read that the update fixes the script while keeping what made Woolsey's translation so special.
  20. He does
  21. Kojima Productions linkedin shows a lot of job openings so I doubt the game is in a presentable state. Then again, I don't know anything about game development so... Just give me anything that's not horror. I'd even take a sports game made by Kojima.
  22. I want him to do a next-gen evolution of MGSV: The Phantom Pain's gameplay. New IP, similar mechanics, next-gen goodness and I'm in love. But I expect his next project to be a horror game. And to be honest, it's a good fit. Kojima is capable of delivering something that could elevate the genre. While it wouldn't be for me, I'd still be interested to see how that man would approach it.
  23. After a bit of a hiatus from the game I decided to load it up again and... ...I had to find out that the emulator didn't save, well...anything. This one needs to be closed by choosing "Exit" in its menu instead of just quitting the app via the device's OS. All progress was lost Anyways, have reached the point where I stopped playing and now I'm ready to keep going. I'm playing the Ted Woolsey Uncensored Edition of Final Fantasy VI. I can't compare the different versions 'cause I never played the original. I can, however, say that the game has some very goofy moments Dialogue is surprisingly funny at times. I'm loving the battle system. Turn-based, ATB goodness The story is nothing spectacular so far, but I am intrigued by Kefka. He has a certain silliness that was very unexpected.
