Played the first mission of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. As every year: It's Call of Duty alright A spectacle. Interesting how I can enjoy a game like this once in a while but hate those typical action movies. Anyways, the DualSense's adaptive triggers really shine in this. Pretty amazing how transformative they are. Game looks nice (PS5 version) but its cross-gen-nature is still obvious. So far, so good. Haven't dabbled with the multiplayer, yet, but given my best friend got the game as well yesterday (5€...still can't believe it worked; but I continue to be pessimistic and expect Sony to refund the money and revoke the license) it's just a matter of time until I'm back in the game

I see this has turned into another "Nintendo is amazing" thread. Yeah, gotta say I'm surprised, too. Games like Fallout 76 didn't have the same amount of hype surrounding them but it's still a little weird that Cyberpunk 2077 has been taken down. Welp, let's see how CDPR fares in 2021. Got a lot of work cut out for them...

Pretty sure no one's mad This is a video game forum after all. And this thread derailed in a positive way

You could try to set up a family online subscription with friends. Saves you some money Hades and Slay the Spire are both on sale and I will eat your Disney movie collection if you don't buy them
-
Tell me about it... On my Switch I usually just play indie games as Nintendo's offering in recent months has been quite disappointing (to me, people, to me...lower your pitchforks ) but still...lots of games I played and want to play on that console. And now with the PS5 it's going to get even worse
-
Well...this is information I didn't know. Ok then, it might actually work By the way, there's a huge sale going on in the eShop. Not sure how much you're into digital versions of games and indie games, but there are quite a few great titles up for grabs. Deku Deals helps a lot with finding something

All those for 70 bucks? You'll be lucky if you find one of those Nintendo games and Lion King/Aladdin for that. Also: Don't listen to @Cube and @Will, they don't know what they're talking about. Galaxy is better than Odyssey
-
Gotta say, I'm very lucky it works as well as it does on my PS5. I haven't really followed news about this game, even after release so I pretty much went in blind...the one time I don't do it and it's become a shit show...thankfully not for me. 21 hours in and I absolutely love it... Still, it's the right decision to delist it from PSN. This shouldn't be available for purchase, even if there's a slight chance it'll work fine on current-gen consoles

You collect Power Moons and there a an estimated 6 million of 'em. Nah, there are 880 unique moons. Personally, I found the entire game way too easy, but it is a fun platformer. I mean...it's Nintendo, so you usually know what you can expect. For me, Odyssey is far from the best, but I enjoyed it for what it was.

It's too easy but a solid game.

For a fiver There was a glitch in the German PSN store. Add the free weekend version to your library and you could get the cross-gen bundle for 5€ It worked and it's downloading. Looks like my PS5's SSD will be out of space soon Might be worth checking it out in your PSN stores?

Online multiplayer: Why I feel Local is better
drahkon replied to Aperson's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Local multiplayer is much better than online multiplayer. I can sit there butt naked and be unnecessarily sexual with my friends and/or strangers. It's just not the same doing this online.- 12 replies

Let me think...there's one particular game I keep recommending. Can't remember... Oh, yeah: Vroom in the Night Sky BUY SLAY THE SPIRE!

Good to know Thanks Will give the demo a whirl after work, if I can resist the temptation to play Cyberpunk 2077

Hopp whithout any problems. No upsets so far, but Dobey did have some troubles against Smith. A few interesting matchups today: Gurney - O'Connor de Sousa - Smith

So, do I need to play the earlier installments to get the story? I don't have access to those games at all (no handheld capable of playing them). Still, gonna try out the new demo. Didn't really like the first one, but the devs vowed to improve and I'd like to see if they delivered

Yup, it's awesome I understand the game gets a lot of flak. And I agree that it deserves it with regards to the performance on last-gen consoles. It's inexcusable. However, I gotta also say: I love the game. It runs great on my PS5 and I only had two crashes in 17 hours of playtime, so far. Yes, some minor bugs here and there, but they don't affect my enjoyment at all. And for a game running via BC, it does look pretty: Having an absolute blast with this. Progressed the story a bit and got to know a few more characters, one of which I am accompanying on a mission and she's awesome. Such a badass Once I'm done with this story mission, I'll finally go back to some side gigs again My initial plan of "just finishing it and moving on" turned to: Do everything and get the Platinum. I think it's a game that deserves my time I really must be one of the lucky few who don't have to deal with major issues all the time. And I also don't think the game's mechanics are as lackluster as most people seem to think. Probably helps that I didn't get swept up in the ridiculous hype over the last few years. What I'm playing is exactly what I expected.

@killthenet New year, new PDC World Darts Championship. Last year you haven't been excited because of the election. What about this year? I mean...there hasn't been something huge going on that could dampen the excitement, has there? Anyways, first session wasn't really surprising and not particularly high quality. But Peter Wright did deliver Tonight Max Hopp will play his first game. Should be a win, but who knows...anything can happen in the world of darts. It's a shame that if Nico Kurz wins his first match on Saturday there will definitely one German player less in the tournament come Monday as he'd have to play against Gabriel Clemens. Tough luck for us Germans Anyways, no fans for the tourney. Not sure what to think. On one hand, the party and fans were always fun to see, on the other hand there will be no distractions for the players, especially no booing. The sport itself will be the focus and to be honest, I think I kinda like it.

I've never been that much into the Christmas "spirit" (well, as a kid, of course). This year is no different. I am, however, looking forward to spending time with my family and eat LOTS of tasty food. My sister will cook for us on Christmas Eve (roulades, roast beef) and my mom will provide us with food on Christmas Day (rabbit) and Boxing Day (potato salad). Gotta have two or three days of fasting before that Got all Christmas presents sorted. My sister would like some play time for World of Warcraft, her boyfriend will "just" get some money as he'll build a new PC next year and my mom will get a toaster, egg cooker and and electric kettle. I already got my present: The PS5 All in all: For me, Christmas is "just" another weekend I spend time with my family. They are much more invested in the "formalities" than I am, but I can indulge in them at least for a bit, too.

Welcome to Dark Demon's Souls, @Julius Last Saturday, when I told my sister I'll buy either this or Cyberpunk 2077, her boyfriend told me to not buy Demon's Souls. He either reeeaaaally wanted me to play Cyberpunk 2077 or there's a possibility that I'll get a pretty cool Christmas present

Made some progress with a side-quest chain. All I'm gonna say is: BEEP-BEEP MOTHERFUCKER! (these quests are weird, but in a good way).

Not much in it for me (given that I already own Spelunky 2) but a pretty ok showing nonetheless. Not sure why Dicey Dungeons wasn't shown (unless I missed it) It's out now. -
Yup, that's my situation, too. Only done one main mission in Act 2, so far. Other than that it's been side quest after side quest I was saving up to buy the double jump mod. I acquired the final 2k eddies during a gig. Lucky for me, in that gig I came across a Ripperdoc who did some shady shit and he offered a discount if I kept quiet. Means I only had to pay 36k instead of 45k for that sweet sweet double jump mod. Also finally figured out how to efficiently quickhack enemies. Really opens up being stealthy.
-
Thankfully, I save like a madman so no biggie. Did a side mission where I needed to steal a van. Obviously I tried to be sneaky and it went horribly wrong a few minutes in. The shootout was quite intense with me sniping through some walls and two enemies sneaking up on me trying to take me down with their shotguns. Managed to survive, though This game is too much fun. Haven't touched the main mission, yet. Wanna earn some money and street cred to buy the double jump improvement.

Sitting in the lab, waiting for an analysis to finish...but it's looking very likely that this'll be my last day in the lab for 2020, which means: more time for me to play Cyberpunk 2077 (and the occasional Slay the Spire run) Can't wait to dive back in later today. The last mission I played really made me hungry for more.
