  1. Do you have the King's Ring yet? Going down the well is mandatory for progression. Laddersmith Gilligan in Earthen Peak (warp to second bonfire, destroy the nearby wooden fence and walk around the outside) will move to Majula if you talk to him a lot. You can then pay him to put a ladder down the well which helps descending it.
  2. To be honest, from the games I've played in the past sub games tend to be better maintained with more stuff coming to them. Not only that, games like Guild Wars 2 essentially let you buy in game money (I kid you not) using gems, which you buy with real cash. I don't want to pay a sub or play most MMORPGs in general, but that's just an observation.
  3. So GameSpy could have shut down 4 years in and...no Wii online for the existing games for the remaining 3-4 years of the Wii's life?
  4. I don't understand this. Why can't they host the servers somewhere else? Seems bananas that they didn't have a contingency for if a single company hosting servers shut down.
  5. Daenerys's love puppet.
  6. First off, make sure you go to your settings and change your network features so that you can play with everyone, not just your region. No idea why they set it to that by default. If you've already done that, I think some bosses just aren't as popular. The place that has tons of summon signs dropped is by Drangleic Castle bonfire 1 where the same room is used for an earlier boss and the final boss. If you're like L130-150, you get summoned/invaded loads in that area. 81 hours, and that's having done and nearly getting everything apart from the spells/trades you can only get in NG+ and onwards. Also killed a boss that has no real purpose other than making you feel badass. That took me a few hours. You have to do that boss, there's a primal bonfire behind it. :p By the way, if you guys ever see a lever with loads of unrated (computer generated) messages around it saying don't do it, don't pull the lever. I have the propensity to disobey these sorts of things and paid the price.
  7. True, forgot about that, although it did result in him also being able to defeat Ganny and let you spend the remaining 75% of the game kicking A. Although the ageing twist was cool, so the more unusual elements/takes they can do the better, I think. Majora's Termina was another unusual and brilliant angle.
  8. Well I guess they could have greyscaled the document and saved over the master. If they were truly high on crack or something, sure. Not at all likely though, is it? Also who wouldn't just print in greyscale as opposed to wasting time converting to greyscale then printing it?
  9. Ca'man, even I know what he's saying here. The manuals will have been in colour but were printed in black and white for cost purposes (for proof - the official artwork images contained within manuals usually feature elsewhere throughout the game/in magazines, but in colour). Even though this point is trivial compared to the rest of what he was saying, he's arguing that Nintendo shouldn't include the manual in black and white just because it was at the time, if they can now offer something better.
  10. I completed my first playthrough yesterday (not selected to go into NG+ yet). There was more of a story in this game yet it still wasn't obtrusive to the gameplay. Really enjoyed a lot of the bosses, although they seemed to have cranked up the difficulty since the earlier titles. It shouldn't be too difficult to fully complete this, just need to get to do a few covenant related things and NG++ to purchase the last few spells. I imagine the game will be a lot quicker if I skip optional bosses this time round. Having stuff like pyromancy from the beginning is also sure to help.
  11. Or what about some Golden Sun/SoTC style twist where you actually find out that defeating the dungeon bosses has actually inadvertently been fucking up shit rather than helping. All for some mega twist ending where you still swing a win and turn it around at the end. Basically, there are tons of weird angles they could take this. Any would be better than the same gods/Triforce/Ganondorf/save Zelda stuff.
  12. How about a Legend of Zelda where you don't play as Link or some reincarnation of him? I think one of my favourite things about Majora's Mask is that the Triforce and the usual story of the Master Sword, Zelda and the gods etc is absent. They could do all that and with a character who isn't Link as well. It could even be that you end up saving Link through the story, and dat TWIST? There is nothing special about you. You are a rags to riches coolbro. Make the world Shadow of the Colossus kind of beautiful/epic and throw in some Journey style artistic direction. Have the main character die or some shit at the end to maximise drama and cut off the chance of a sequel. I can see it now...
  13. I like the idea of making it not just a bunch of distinct interconnecting rooms with doors. I know some areas aren't like that but it would be interesting to see the game as a fleshed out, seamless world.
  14. Just about all the things people have said Nintendo need to improve are what Sony has / is already doing. So yes, I'd say they do need to emulate what Sony are doing in several areas.
  15. I played the beta of that. Surprised me how much it appeared like TES, but not sure how arsed I can be with an MMORPG anymore. Dat grind.
  16. That reminds me a little of this
  17. I thought Daft was talking about Virtual Console (retro) titles going everywhere, not new games like Pikmin 3? There is a big difference since VC titles likely aren't any real force behind driving Wii U console sales. People usually are buying a console because it has new games they want. Also a lot of people had the chance to get those VC titles back on the Wii (a console which far more had, too).
  18. It's a shame to hear about all the queuing, otherwise I might have gone. I really can't stand queuing.
  19. Yeah, I meant more that these iPlayer and Netflix apps were also built into Youview/skybox/TiVo/BT Box/digital boxes/ PS3s too. I was just surprised that there would be people who really want that functionality who hadn't already got one of the available boxes. I know it lets you do more than just run those apps, but that would probably be their main function.
  20. Don't a lot of people already have various apps like iPlayer built into a lot of popular boxes as well as TVs out there?
  21. Well bluey is married to Jamba so it would make sense if you knew them both.
  22. Zelda. In the sense that OoT was like a reboot in some ways and was amazing. It'd be so cool if they could reinvent it as something fresh and awesome.
  23. Hold on, looks like we've got a couple of badasses right here.
  24. I am also utterly gobsmacked that someone could say or think this. @Serebii...why would you say this? Surely you can see what you said literally makes no sense.
