  1. From what I've read about it it sounds pretty cool. Are you going to plug a SNES controller into it? The HD upscaling also sounds cool, let me know what you think about that. Just a shame it doesn't support emulators, heh...
  2. Yip, this. Also it'll essentially be 'gear-levelling' when you hit L20, which in some games can often be more time consuming but result in more meaningful gains.
  3. Really rather sad that someone on these forms talks to people in such an immature way. I'm honestly quite shocked that you have a son.
  4. @Serebii, 100% this. You don't need to type 'I think' in every sentence to put across an opinion. Given I was talking about something that could never be factually proven, it really goes without saying that you shouldn't be taking it as a fact in the first place.
  5. Yes, that was how it was written. Just as 'Mario Galaxy is awesome' is written as a factual statement owing to the lack of 'I think', yet to anyone with an ounce of sense would it would clearly come across as an opinion. It's like an audience with Sheldon Cooper. :p
  6. And thus, the problem is identified. You inferred a fact, when it wasn't actually a fact. Other examples that you might consider facts, based on the lack of 'I think': Mario Galaxy is awesome Serebii is a silly sausage Steak beats pizza
  7. Tell me how I stated this as a fact? I'm intrigued at how you took it that way. Are you telling me you interpret all language literally like a robot?
  8. Do you see what I mean?
  9. I'd already edited the detail about Wave Race, even though its 3D iteration essentially was new. But it seems you're basically correcting unimportant things because they're things you feel like you can 'win' on (and not the actual point I'm making). You know, just because I'm expressing an opinion that they've become very derivative you don't have to immediately jump on my post as if I have directed a personal remark at your very own family.
  10. Not bull at all, Serebii. Perhaps you should read people's posts a little better. Melee - incredible step up Luigi's Mansion - new Rogue Squadron - new Mario Sunshine - incredible step up The Wind Waker - words not needed Metroid Prime -totally new direction Wave Race - (pretty much) new Pikmin - new Eternal Darkness - new Wii U ain't got jack on that. A lot of the big stuff I have played so far from them is very derivative content (particularly NSMBU, Mario Kart, SM3DW, DKC, Pikmin). And if you want to compare, maybe wait until PS4 has been out the same length of time as Wii U. Until then, pipe down.
  11. This section accurately describes the problem. Very little imagination left within Nintendo these days, mostly just a sequel culture. While other consoles do sequels, at least between generations we see more of a step up (as well as there being more new kinds of games too).
  12. Oh lol, I wasn't aware of that discussion. Made for a funny read.
  13. By all means, it you say you're going to argue it then follow through. :p Can you really argue it in the case of NSMBU? I don't believe anyone could, convincingly. I'd guess that ultimately, such an argument would boil down the to pro camp saying 'I don't think it was samey' rather than providing any meaty explanations as to how it was a fresh experience.
  14. Problem isn't just the quantity for me, there was a certain samey feel with their output (NSMBU a prime example). Also a problem was supporting third party software - originally a lot of ported over titles and now next to nothing at all. Means you need even more good first party stuff than last consoles to make up for it.
  15. Bought the Lego Movie on Blu Ray for my girlfriend's birthday and we watched it last night. Such a delightful little film. The everything is awesome song is stuck in my head now.
  16. I have never complained to anyone in real life about the gamepad weight either, so that example doesn't really have any point to it. Fact is, it weighs more than double that of a normal controller, so I really don't see why you're having difficulty understanding why people might be saying, in the context of a controller, that it is 'heavy'. I've noticed you've used words like 'struggle' (I never suggested I struggled), and trying to make out like I'm having difficulty with it. I'm not, I'm just telling you that for a handheld controller it feels heavy compared to what I'm used to and this means it's less comfortable to use than a standard controller. Yeah, it's an erroneous leap to suggest that people's ability to perceive weight (regarding low weight objects) is down to strength. It's more due to perception and what that person thinks is an acceptable level of weight for a device, and comparing the level of comfort you have using it to other devices. Going back to the original Gameboy - when I pick that up, it feels heavy. It's like 100g less heavy than a Wii U gamepad and yet it feels heavy to me, mostly because the gameboys that followed were so much lighter. Perception and comparison is key.
  17. I would be surprised if people didn't notice the difference between the Gamepad and one of the other controllers to the same degree given it is over double the weight of the other controllers. I'd say it's more down to how little they use other controllers (e.g. PS4/X1) and how much they just get on with it. Either way, unlikely it's down to it being 'weaker' people perceiving it. As a 20 something healthy male you could hardly place me at the lower end out of all people who could ever use the thing (kids, women, older people).
  18. Another way to break it down is that it is more than double the weight of a PS4 controller. If a PS4 controller alone feels the right weight, then this is definitely feeling on the heavy side. But also the size means you can't really move your arms about as easily like with a normal controller while you hold it, which to me adds to the sort of clunkiness. It reminds me a bit of the original Gameboy - at 394g it feels a bit like a brick, even though you could break it down to '197g per hand'. Still feels oddly bulky.
  19. I wouldn't worry about it, comments like that do nothing other than confirm what everybody already thought about the poster. Half a kilo is pretty heavy for a controller. Easier to compare it - a PS4 controller is 210g. When I hold my PS4 controller, it certainly doesn't feel light. It feels just the right weight to not be heavy while also not feeling cheap like a PS3 Sixaxis (which was a paltry 137g). The Xbox One controller is 280g and for reference the gamecube controller was 318g. So we can probably place most modern controllers being around the 200-330g range. Way less than that like with the Sixaxis and the thing felt pretty cheap and crappy, and way more than that at 491g, it's going to feel too heavy. From a personal point of view, anyway. For me, there is a sweet spot and this lies way outside.
  20. Yeah, don't go in expecting much, we just had to pull your leg a bit so you would bite the bullet and get it. :p That said, it is a very good game. Wait until you get full control over where you can take the boat and have some experience using it before you judge it, I'm sure you'll really enjoy it then.
  21. I was joking by the way. :p Nobody is weak, that was a silly thing for people to suggest (hence the sarcasm), what I'm saying is that the size makes it heavier than what many or us are comfortable with based on the use of our other devices. Nintendo: First class refers to the shipping service used to send the console back to you. Actual service terrible.
  22. My only ever order with them was for a pair of headphones which took 3 months to arrive and their contact was crap when I asked them where it was. There's a facebook comment section below each product on the product page, people were pretty mad about it and all being told different dates when they'd have the headphones in. Basically, cheap prices and good when you get it in the end but totally awful experience up to that point.
  23. lol, that's right, people who dislike the weight must be puny and not real men. Amirite? Let's be honest, the thing feels like a Vtech toy of the late 90's era. It's too large and a bad design for the many people not interested in off screen play (who would rather have their games look good in glorious HD) who want to play their games for extended periods of time. Nintendo will not make a main controller of this size for their next console, it was such a mistake. I find it pretty uncomfortable too. Especially the hard buttons.
  24. Interview went really well, will hear back from them within a few days. Hope I did enough! Now to chill about in Amsterdam.
  25. Congrats man, you must be excited!
