I might be tempted, was going to ask @RedShell where he managed to get it for £16!
-
Out of interest why did your friend get a WiiU?
-
I'd probably be happy to jump in at some point too.
-
Nah that'd be more like observing/picking only the cases where people feel sick to fit with your existing thinking looking for it. Or getting sick then going 'ha, i was right!'. Expecting it and having it happen would be more like a Nocebo effect(Placebo effect for negative consequences).
-
Too few side quests and minigames scattered through it too imo.
-
Up your Trials game people.

Once a day yes. However, if you want to be literal I think he has quite literally stated and illustrated that was not what he was saying at all.

Aaaaaaaaaaaand...it's gone. Just feels like you're trolling this thread :p

I'd prefer if I was having some more info about Zelda U :p Tbh I'm not sure I'd pick this up unless it was hitting budget - I've still only barely played WW on my WiiU, let alone finding the 40ish hours for this game again, and without labouring the point, the amiibo+additional content puts me off some. It was definitely a great game, but I feel like I'd be better off just playing it again on my Wii or via Dolphin and upscaled if I was all that fussed about the graphics - HD isn't really enough to do it for me.
-
Tbh in the Beta I recall doing the tutorial, hence I went looking for it when I fired this up again at the weekend - I agree it's in a slightly silly/difficult place(I was looking elsewhere first) but I can half understand it being at the end of options so that you don't then everytime you go into the menu end up having to scroll past it. However that's something they very very easily could have implemented otherwise or actually had it in the top menu. I had a few rookie matches and enjoyed it - feels like some real old school basic sort of fun. Feels a bit clunky to control but I can dig that with the vibe of the game.

I got the email but was out so haven't done anything about it yet, think I definitely will as I was actually trying to play my PS4 for most of that afternoon with very little joy!

N64 - No signal you guys got any fixes?

Not meaning to put another spanner in the works or anything - but do we know that a US supply can definitely be used on a UK console? My mind says in theory yes, as the transformer must be in there and they'd surely design all models to take the same outputted voltage by said transformer, but for some reason being as it wasn't done as a sort of brick/rated(unless it was and I never noticed) I wonder if there might be a variance. Problem is there's no way to tell unless you can look at the rating on both. Doing some quick research I believe that yes it's absolutely fine, and if anything you might actually even be able to use the US supply in the UK with a simple converter (not that you'd need or want to really) whilst you can't do it the other way round! -
Not sure who did the thrip but thank you! I was planning to but had some stuff come up so haven't really been on here since I posted.

Not quite related but I recently found out from one of my female friends who I hadn't seen for ages that one of my male friends randomly sent her an unsoliticed dick pic and possibly justified it by being drunk. To compound it her mum was with her when she unknowingly opened it. She obvs feels super awkward and hasn't really spoke to said guy since(not actually sure when it happened, but this was Novemberish I saw her). I'm not sure if this is another one of the reasons why I hadn't seen her for ages but it really annoys me that my friends would do that to my other friends! My question is - a number of other people now know, but he doesn't know that I know, and does anyone think it would be suitable to publicly humiliate him in company of many friends? tl;dr - guys who send unsolicited dick pics, I don't get you. I will find you, I will humiliate you. When I used to have loooong hair I once had it straightened by my friends and we went out clubbing, I can only presume I looked fabulous from behind as I got touched up a few times by random dudes who probably thought my lucious locks were definitively female - again, see above, some men/people are terrible!

Good thinking! I did consider the amiibo thread but I'm worried of it again just being taken aside by grievences over something we don't have solid yet(so lots of speculation) but the actual thread might be a good idea! I'm off to work and out for the day shortly, so I'll leave it open for opinion for another 24 hours then probs do some thripping, I think your suggestion of that thread will be a suitable balance. There will probably still be some natural duplication/redundancy between both threads but I can definitely see the amiibo/content issue being wanted as a greater discussion.

Day late birthday wishes to both @Glen\-i and @Dr\. bob!

And some not so great people were born in January too...

Happy birthday Flink! The...fiercest?...of all Links? I feel like I need a sassy gif of either you, link, or a combination of the two. -
This was quite a quote, Serebii :p You and I saw others mentioned a thrip - just not sure exactly how to do it or what to call said new topic without creating something that's going to be argumentative bait. A lot of people seem to be tying it back to Zelda anyhow - and making a separate thread on speculation of something we really don't know about might be less beneficial? Opinions welcomed on the thrip! I'll tidy up said posts and threads afterwards if necessary.

Personally I'd like to hope than any platform holder would endeavour to try an ensure ongoing access to these titles regardless of the original devs/publishers. However I must admit I see that being something more likely to be done by MS and Sony than Nintendo at the moment. I do think agree with you over the concern of ongoing access/functionability for these items and titles, and that's why I've never really embraced the downloadable model for cheaper games except on PC/Steam - which has both a rich history of it, but also lesser barriers to doing so, and often when titles become abandonware they will re-appear elsewhere. Also the reduced price makes me feel like I'm losing less, if I do. Splatoon, and my latest favourite Destiny, however will pretty much be completely redundant. In Splatoon you can't even buy things from the shops without internet, and there's so many little online-ish aspects tucked in(such as your whole plaza etc) that you'd be stuck with basically just the single-player at some point. Destiny needs to be always on so that will be completely redundant whenever it's done. So my advice? If you're console gaming then don't buy digital. A physical product is much harder to lose access to.

Rummy replied to flameboy's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Just come back to England forever @flameboy, sounds much simpler :p! Europe's on 240V as well though isn't it? Just asking because I'm sure my old DS chargers worked fine in the US without a converter! I did have a US charger however, as I originally got someone to buy one over there for me so maybe I never actually tried it! I know the 3DS/DSi chargers worked just fine on the 110V supplies however. -

What kind of cable are you using at the moment? Can't you use a GC cable on it too? I'm with Josh might be the cartridges though, had an absolute headache with my SNES recently for exactly the same reason - whilst it was actually putting out a black screen the modern TVs find it too low/weak to actually detect it. -
Royal Rumble next week isn't it? My mate's invited me round his to watch it live and kindly said I can extend the invitation to Frag so looking forward to that - I've no idea of what the plans or lineups are though! I basically only ever see/watch Wrestling when it's these PPV events. Anyone know what big match-ups are planned? Not sure how it'll go considering so many people seem to be getting injured atm!

For a brief second I thought someone had not so hilariously edited the Bowie thread! Great shame, I didn't see him in tons of stuff but I thought he was an absolutely banging actor.

Cheap but good USB 3.0 enclosure for 2.5inch drive?
Rummy replied to Rummy's topic in General Chit Chat
Link didn't work but searched the name on amazon and it's less than a tenner so that's grand! What size drive did your sister have, and does this come with a split/Y cable? Taken the drive out of my colleague's laptop and it's a 500gb so I'm wondering if it might need a Y cable to spin up properly as my old 500gb didn't work without one. -
Hmm. I typed this all as I went along then realised I was echoing a fair bit of Gibbs's sentiments, but I'm making my post anyway dammit! I'd have to ask what you're actually basing this on - because I've tended not to find it myself. I played both Halo Reach and Halo 4 pretty extensively, and for both often with my mate Claire at the time as it was a handy way to socialise after work/life without actually going anywhere - often we'd just be chatting via the in-game chat rather than party chat too. Whilst yes, there was sometimes people like that, for most of my Halo Reaching/Halo 4ing the majority of people were generally silent, and the majority of voice chatters just...weren't being twats. And the beauty if they were? Mute button! Problem solved. In a modern day context I've occasionally gone on Destiny with randoms for raids - now here we are admittedly working towards a common goal, but still most people have been cool and sensible. I've twice or thrice chatted with randoms I've been teamed with on the game - again a lot of people don't voice chat but those that have generally haven't been twats. It can be done, and I think it should be done. Just because some do/don't want it, I think the option should be offered for all and the player allowed to make a choice via mute functions etc. Another reduction method for potential twatism is that you only manage to talk with teammates rather than a generally across the board thing(so in competitive games it isn't particularly possible to be slagged off by the opposition). I think when you're working towards a common goal you'd tend to be less inclined to be a massive dick. Of course, I'm talking generally and you'll have exceptions, but I really do think the majority of people can be pretty civil and there's ways to encourage that/discourage the bad behaviours. Again I think you're overestimating the fragility of the female gender and I wonder what you're basing it on again. At worst they'd probably just use the built in controls to make the choice to turn off etc. rather than NEVAR GAME ONLINE AGAIN. EDIT: Ah, and there's some more from @Hero\-of\-Time's nieces! But I think the problem is it's a misplaced focus. Put the option/possibility in, then work on restrictions. Mutes, blocks, reports etc. Maybe a parental controls/limitations options - yes I know the counter 'blah blah parents don't do it' but that's not my fault nor my problem, and I don't see why you wouldn't make your product appeal broadly or punish people who want something just because other people can't be trusted to be responsible.
