Haha, when I was younger and we had no router etc etc, we only had internet on the main computer, which rather unfortunately is tucked under the stairs, and right in front of the front door. When you step into the house, there's usually someone sitting just 3 metres in front of you. A few times when trying to sneak a sneaky while people were out, I'd hear the door(or coming down the stairs quite quick), and there were too many windows open or something that wouldnt be quick to close, I've had to resort to the mains switch, usually a quick flick for a restart then cover my tracks. One advantage was the fact I had two doors, so hearing the first was like a 5 second warning, without it I'm sure I'd have been caught at least once.

I must say, I'm actually quite impressed with how this thread turned out, and the fact it's still open! I actually do feel weird talking about, despite knowing that pretty much everyone does it. Sometimes, you just feel the need, and I think with the internet these days it's much easier to get yourself sorted if you need to. There's nothing more annoying than a boner that just won't go away.

I gotta agree on Letty's boots, they're pretty hot. If you can handle £55, I point you in the direction of Oli's thread in the bargain board. I've got the order placed, but I think I'm gonna buy the game from Game tomorrow, then take the play.com one back when it arrives(inspired by the sneaky ShadowV7). Triple_C, what boosh series(es) is that?

I coulda sworn he will be facing the way you were actually just looking when you zoom out, feel like I've used it to turn around in some tricky spots. After I read your first post, I was gonna describe it as an enhanced extension of SM64, as it's 3D, similar moves/controls, similar style. But then I read the description of it being like an extension of the 2D side scrollers, and I kind of agreed with that. In SM64(and sunshine?) there were 15 levels and they were all pretty much explorable from the off(like when you got there) I liked 64 too because you could see and get stars when you weren't supposed to be. With galaxy however, there isn't really that kind of freedom, there's the illusion of it(and i do feel a bit like the galaxy things make it seem like a bigger game than it is, plus the silly travelling bits will probably count for an half hour of actual playtime by the end ). The stars ARE rather linear, you can go forward along the path or backwards, there isn't really much sideways like; if anyone understands what I'm saying here.

What a sneakily good idea! I should have done that! Speaking of Play though, do you know how long it takes to arrive from dispatch? I placed my order yesterday, it says it's still packing(i guess they don't work saturdays?), I actually feel like I can't wait, I really really want this, especially reading through this thread!

I haven't got many stars lately, still sitting around 60ish, been spending my time trying hard to investigate the dusty dunes and find that secret star! There's nothing more annoying that knowing there's a secret star on a level, but just not being able to find it! I'm trying desperately not to turn to a guide, but I might need to at this rate!

I was well happy to get my payslip through this morning, got a few hundred quid which was nice, and also a 1% pay rise on everything with back pay upto april(ok, not alot considering i work rarely, but it's nice to know), but then I had a t]pretty terrible driving lesson, I've had far too many lessons already and I'll probably still fail at this rate I'm quite annoyed now, I bought GH3 to cheer myself up a bit though! I've had this incredible urge to spend lots of money on random stuff for the past week or so...

Send it back for a replacement, usually postage(if you ordered it from somewhere) is free for a faulty item, if it's from a shop just waltz in and get it replaced. I went into asda today, and they had all copies of it EXCEPT the wii version, but the guy told me it was 59.71, so I briskly walked my way home and took much advantage of Oli's bargain thread, I totally can't wait for this guys, it's gonna be amazing! I'm probably gonna be quite bad at it though :s

These days I tend to burn through a game quickly, cos I spend most of my time avoiding doing productive things and playing games instead. When I was younger though, games lasted much much longer as my mum only let us play on the weekends, so that our schoolwork and stuff wouldn't suffer. I'm kind of glad, cos I feel like the games stretched out forever, though a little sad that now they don't. I haven't learnt anything from it, I think my academia started suffering when I started ignoring my mother, but it's been fun

Super Paper Mario? But, you're not just playing a guitar, you are playing it to a track, so it does matter, unless you like to play guitar hero with the sound off, in which case it doesn't matter either way!

I tried that too, seemed to work even less. I can't work out why it works for one of the, but not the other? Using same cables and everything.

Ok, we've had problems with AOL recently, so we changed ISP. They said during all the tech support that we had ethernet problems or something, but obviously they were talking crap, we did try on numerous PCs, OSs, Other Equipments etc. However, I've just noticed that what they said seems a bit true! In the main PC there is a motherboard with 'Dual Lan', basically two lan ports(seperate adapters, one is Marvell and the other Nvidia). We plug into the router, and I've tended to give everything that connects a static IP through the router's DHCP, and this PC is no exception. Admittedly, the Marvell connection didn't have its own thing set, I forgot to consider that two seperate things will have two MACs, but I've just set that up too. However(and I think this used to happen, I just never realised what was happening), my dad turned the computer on earlier and it wouldn't connect to the internet, I was on so it was working fine and the computer must have been wrong. I checked ipconfig and it said that the IP was 169.254.xxx.xxx, forgot what the last 6 were. This was through the nVidia adapter, after much faffing, trying to set static settings on the computer, setting the Marvell adapter on the DHCP too, I couldn't get it to work, until I actually swapped the cable from the nVidia to the Marvell one. I've checked the settings on both, and they appear exactly the same, and they've been set the same on the router too, but still the nVidia one doesn't work and keeps getting that gay IP instead of a 192.123.xxx.xxx like it should, like the Marvell one does. So basically, any ideas on what the hell's wrong and how I can fix it? (when i say it used to happen, sometimes we turned the computer on and despite being plugged in and everything, the internet just didn't work. Restart the computer and it didn't work, turn it off and come back some other time and it did. To stay true to that, the nVidia one was working previous to today)

I just watched the first episode, I never really saw the first series, but liked what I saw of the second, this was a bit more average though from what I was expecting. I do like the way the setting seems to changed each series though(not really an evaluation of its comedic value).

Goddamn, it's 9oclock! I sat down at like 6 to play for an hour and I can't believe it. I cannot believe how much I'm loving this, seems like it's got a good sort of time span on it too(for 100%ing), very good stuff. Hopefully the last few stars will be right challenging buggers like in sm64, secret stars and red coins etc.

Ahhh, I've just spent the last half hour doing the daredevil on bouldergeist! I feel foolish and satisfied, foolish for thinking the game was too easy when I started, and satisfied for finding out it's not

I haven't bought much recently(except a few clothes, including a jumper everyone keeps complimenting me on, which is weird for some reason), and of course Galaxy. I bought a DivX DVD player though, and after coming home from uni pissed off cos my lecture was cancelled and I went in for nothing, it arrived like 2 minutes after me, and it seems to work with all my discs! Proper good and bargain for only £28! It's nice and black and kind of shiny too :D

What's the status on the supposed delays/recalls? I've not ordered it anywhere yet, gonna try and bag it in ASDA come saturday, I got my copy of galaxy there for like 29.47 or something silly, hopefully GH will be a decent price too. My first GH! I can't wait!

Great. I've got 34 stars now, trying to pace myself so I don't get more than like 15-20 a day, also trying to avoid finishing zones/domes/whatever they're called too quick. By time I got the kitchen open, I could already fight the boss! I'm tempted by it, my friend keeps telling me how great the Gusty Garden is, but I dunno when I'll be playing it...

You mean the bit under location? There's a registry reference, but no file location reference as far as I can find. For everything else in there, the file location is under 'Command' but of course in this case, it's all silly asian. The registry reference is HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run . After a few long hours digging around on tinternets, I've caught a few hints that it might be something Acer related(tis an Acer laptop), and I tried running a hijackthis scan and couldn't find anything asian looking, so I dunno what to do. Gonna try and ask some people with acers and see...

Been playing it somemore, got myself 15 stars now. Liking some of the music(and the hints of old songs), and I think it's brilliantly beautfiul colourwise. I played it on my mate's massive TV through his component cable yesterday, and worried my regular old CRT wouldn't be as good, but it's all so vibrant and colourful! It's probably even better cos the edges aren't as sharp so they don't look too rough. I am rather impressed by it all, better than my first few hours on sunshine.
-
I went round my mate's house yesterday and played this for about 2 hours, it's so good I went and bought my own copy today! I think I'm gonna go set my wii up now and continue playing(i even copied the save to my SD ). I'm just a little worried about the lifespan of it, alot of people seem to be halfway through already and it's only been out a few days :s

No snow round here, but it seems to have gotten really bloody cold all of a sudden, well annoying to go outside. My toes and fingers freeze within about a minute, and don't thaw out for hours after I get inside

Hahaha, what an excellent thread through the efforts of Daft! Personally though, I'd say blame lies with both parties, but in the end I would put the blame on Party B as it was Party B's actions that directly caused the incidence, whereas Party A's actions led to the scenario, Party B actually made it happen. I think Party A was negligent to not consider the risks of said wobbly draws and pint of water in relation to the phone though.

Before you follow any of my advice, be aware that you might somehow end up affecting other people's access to the internet through your router, so don't do this if you're worried about messing things up, or if you don't think you'll be able to undo what you've done. For anyone who wants to try and help him out, but doesn't know what the router's interface is like, here's an emulator from d-link's site I've got a D-Link 524, hopefully there isn't much difference. To set it up to lease your specific laptop an IP, you're gonna need to find out the mac address of your laptop's wireless adapter. Normally you'd be able to just clone it, but you aren't gonna be able to do that if your laptop can't connect through it. I'm not sure how you can find out the mac address of it without being connected to something, so connect to something through the wireless, go into network connections, right click the wireless one and select Status(which is greyed out when not connected, i think), then look for Details, which'll pop up a window with some stuff, look for Physical Address and make a note of it(should be in the form XX-XX-XX-XX-XX-XX, Xs being 0-9 or A-F). Anyway, once you have the mac address, use another computer which can connect to the router, open up the router's page and look for DHCP down the left hand side(should open up under the 'Home' tab already). You should hopefully be near here; I imagine DHCP server is disabled, which is why your laptop can't be leased an IP. Check down to the bottom where it says Static DHCP Client list, and see if there are devices listed in there or not. If not, then your dynamic DHCP probably is turned on, but limited to the number of devices which can conncect? Anyway, look back up to Static DHCP as in the picture, then just fill in the boxes underneath to give your laptop a set IP on the network. Name can be whatever you want, the last bit of the IP box can be whatever you want from like, but I usually keep it near the router's own address(in the 100s, go for 115, i doubt anything else will have it). Fill in the MAC address you made a note of earlier, and click apply. Make sure you've selected the Enabled radio button just above the settings, and ignore the DHCP client drop down box. That'll basically make the router assign your laptop an IP whenever it connects wirelessly, make sure you've used the MAC for the wireless adapter in the laptop, if you wire it in it'll use a different bit of hardware and therefore a different MAC code. I dunno if this is what's actually causing your problem, so apologies if it doesn't solve it, there's not alot to go on to determine what the problem is.

100% or even just a 'complete'? I was near the end of my first run on eternal darkness, didn't quite finish it off though. Started a few gc versions of zelda, but those are replays so I don't count them :p. All the blue coins on Sunshine, little things on melee(all trophies basically). I don't think I ever 100%ed Pikmin 2, or maybe even 1 for that matter. Think everything else is fairly near done, but this is only my gamecube games! Got tons of Xbox stuff, probably some DS/GBA stuff and VC stuff! Think all my N64 and SNES stuff is 100% though, or they're crap games.
