Sounded to me from the original article, she was whining because there were other bands out there who are better than her. The ones who 'got rich off cd sales before piracy' somehow apparently ties into them having 'sell out big arena tours'(those aren't exact quotes, i know) but surely the latter is owed to the fact they make music that people like? Which means she and her cronies are just a bit shit and jealous? I dunno. The whole argument is one I've heard too many times, but I always used to think music was too expensive anyhow. I don't understand how them selling lots of CDs leads to sell out arena tours, if anything in this modern day and age where music is so easily(albeit it illegally) accessible it should be even easier for artists to become popular?

Chill out man. Maybe you should have a drink or something to calm you down! I spent most of yesterday drinking, and apart from the fact I'm a little poorer now than I was before, I generally had a bloody good time. I'll admit, I don't feel so great now...but meh. As for me and soft drinks, if I start drinking coke or sweet fizzy drinks, I'll end up drinking through them just as fast, if not faster, than I would regular alcoholic beverages. I used to be a terrible sugar fiend, and that's why all I basically drink now is water tea and alcohol. That sounds awesome, I've always wanted to try and make my own batch of something, but I don't really know where to start or anything. How did you get into it?

I should think jay was pointing out the fact he was drunk, to fulfil the criteria someone posed of wondering when a drunk person would post in the thread. Duh. Get off his back for it! See, us drunks stick together! Of course, I'm sober right now, but I cannot pass up a post in a drinking thread. Lots of people talk about people who are dependant on alcohol, and maybe I am, maybe I'm not, I drink alot of it, why? Because I enjoy it! I do lots of things because I enjoy them, and I'm sure some of the other stuff isn't healthy neither, but I never find myself stopping doing those things just for the hell of it and so I rarely do the same with alcohol. Admittedly the longest I've been without since I started drinking is maybe 2 weeks straight, when I was trying to, but does that neccessarily mean I can't go without it? Now, it's rare I'll go to a drinking establishment, or out with people who are drinking, and not have a drink, I love a drink and how it makes me feel. Second, I'm in a drinking establishment, I'm there to drink! Third, it's actually probably more expensive to not drink than it is to drink, unfortunately. I'm not up for spending my hard earned monies on overpriced non-alcoholic drinks, I think that's just silly, and maybe it's how they get me. I do think alcohol can be a bad drug on the whole, and sometimes wish I'd never started drinking, but then I also think of all the lulzy(and admittedly not so lulzy) times I've had and don't think I'd want to give them up for anything. Maybe I will die of liver failure at the age of 50, but I'll at least be able to say I had a bloody good time getting there.

My, I love how beatifully this is going on, you guys are awesome! I wanted to do the first round in PMs so we didn't get any sort of performance anxiety after seeing everyone else's things and then not being able to do antyhing ourselves(as jay might know, this is a common side effect of attempting to play Blank White Cards with new people). Having said that, everything is brilliant so far! Anybody else want in for the next round? We're still open for playerssss! Ahhh, but I kept trying! WHICH ONE IS THE WINNER?! I just kept getting one of the top 5 dogs! Not even top 2, just top 3-5!! It sure is a brilliant game, I'm gonna be a tiny bit reluctant when it comes to having to finish up and complete it. For some reason it always makes me feel a bit...sad, I guess, refinishing an old game. Just having to lay it all to rest again, it's not so bad first time cos you're excited and don't know what's coming, but this time I doooooo!

So my internet was well dicking me about this morning, I decided to kill the time by busting back into this bad boy, turns out there was a shitload more to do in Ikana as part of the story than I had realised! I've not even ascended the tower yet, but I should have to next time I play. I also realised...it's REALLY fucking hard to win the dog races! Anybody know if there's a surefire way?

So, I know nothing about this game yet I've got this really sudden urge to buy it, mainly because Fused has and keeps mentioning its name. Could someone please tell me about it, and also if possible tell me the cheapest place to purchase it, if they may?

Haha, yeah, sure! I'm WAS going with an idea that Marcamillian proposed to me, but I fear a fatal flaw, so first round I am STILL going to do through PMs. All games need rules though, so here are the rules; Da Rulez: 1. Title your PMs 'Forum Telephone!' It'll be a nice handy little thing if at the end you remind who you're PMing who they need to PM next, and remind them to CC to Rummy! 2. Once you recieve your PM(I understand people are busy) but try and write/draw up your round and send it on to the next person within a day or two, if not immediately/asap. Remember to CC every PM sent to ME, Rummy!. If there is no response to a recieved PM within 2days(which I'll know, given I'll have a copy of all PMs) then I'll forward the last received part of the game to the next person in the chain, and inform you that you're out but are free to be slotted in at the end of the current chain. Remember, artistic ability does not matter, so worry not. 2. I'm rather at a loss, though I'm still intrigued by the entire nature of the game and people's rather awesome posts. Where are these clues to other beans? In their class name, or in their own obtain objective thingies? WTF is going on, and where did you get such an idea for such a game?

I did consider it, but can we actually trust people not to get a total mindblock or be really curious and have a look? Plus, it'd be tempting anyone else playing down the line, asking them not to look until after their turn...I dunno who'd manage to hold out! Cmon people, let's get this happening! In theory, we could even do it with just 3 people, though the more is most certainly the merrier!

If it is/did actually work on people, isn't it essentially just some sort of trance state? I'm pretty sure they use them in hypnosis anyhow. This, imo, is something that is all done with suggestion and a bit of belief, I think all these tricks he's doing are slowly going to build up, and will slowly break down the disbelief of the skeptics, and he'll have a spectacular finish. I'm looking forward to see how he progresses now, and I might give this a go later whilst being a bit more open to it, though half of me really doesn't want to give in to him dammit!

I might do the bits leading up to the 4th temple sometime tonight, but theres something about after the desert bit that just always puts me off. I think it was the annoying reptition of that song that makes statues, but I guess I'll see later on.

So, Marcamillian linked me to this site(http://www.papertelephone.com/) and I thought it was quite an interesting little thing, would love to try and get it happening on the forum but it'll be a bit trickier than the regular. I think someone might have tried to do it before but it's hard to do because you have to hide the previous things from the next person. We've got two options therefore, to just do it publicly or...to do it with PMs! The game to briefly explain, player 1 makes up a phrase, player 2 draws a picture, player 3 then has only that picture and captions it, then player 4 gets only that caption and draws a picture etcetc. It's easier to do irl, cos you can fold the paper down and stuff, but it's a bit harder to fold a thread up. So, I'm thinking if people are in for this, and actually in for this, they post here. People who are gonna drop out and lose interest won't help things, and is a bit of a hassle to fix. Anyhow, once we have a few people, I'll set out a list for the order of play. Person 1 will make their caption and PM it to person 2, who does a picture and PMs it to person 3 etcetc. All PMs should be CC'd to me, so I have a copy of everything, and I'll start to post things at a staggered rate for the rest of the forum to see, or if people rather(and to stop people down the line seeing old entries if it's a really long line) we'll play one game, then I'll post the first as we venture along in the second. Does any of this make sense?? EDIT: Forgot to mention, l33t drawing skills not neccessary. It can be a scribble in paint, or a doodle on some paper that's scanned/photo'd, but I'm thinking to impost a dimension limit of like...640x480 or so? For newcomers: Basically we play by sending a PM to the next person, which contains a picture and a caption, completely independant and unrelated to each other. For the picture, you then make a caption, and for the caption you then make a picture, and forward it on to the next person. To give you some ideas, here are the past games we've had Past Games!

I've only ever seen one episode of this, and that was one where they go on holiday or something but kind of not, but for the most part, it was mildly amusing and entertaining but I didn't quite get why it's so hyped. Then again, one episode is not enough to judge upon.

<3 Brown note doesn't actually exist, or is yet to be proven to, though infrasound does and can have some interesting effects on the body/mind and perception. I think Uri and Blaine are a bit douchey, I don't mind Derren Brown when he isn't being one, mainly I get annoyed with his loyal subjects instead. This is an outrage! Eenuh's was well good! It's got a little hint of charm to it that I love, and I definitely think it should have won! I'd buy one, but I'm just not rich enough for it right now, so I guess I'm just a hypocrite.

What defines hypnotism, d-l-t? I've got a theory on all of this and his series of shows, though I cannae be arsed to type it again. Hopefully I'll be in tomorrow to see how/if he sticks me to my seat, I think I even had a dream about it last night, how weird!

What did you guys expect? I've gone off of Derren Brown because of a few things, but mainly it's the reaction of the crowds to his show. The problem with such entertainers is that one tiny flaw in the their act can ruin the whole thing for a person. I had a conversation about this on friday night(the fact he'd apparently predicted the lotto, with about 4/5 people, none of whom I believe actually SAW the show) but we didn't know he was explaining how he did it, which from the impressions I get of this thread, he didn't even do! What I DO hate immensely is how people try and say he isn't a magician, or isn't an illusionist, or won't use 'common trickery', people are so fucking stupid they think he'd actually use proper impossible magic before a few tricks, and to his credit, that's a bloody good con he's pulled. However, someone INSISTED to me the other day he wouldn't use 'cheap magician tricks' and I got so annoyed, because he essentially tells you he will at the beginning of every single thing he does. He tells you he'll lie and decieve you, yet people still don't get it!! Half his supposed legitimate explanations are false also, but people take it and feel like they haven't been tricked and like they're a part of things, when really he did it nothing like that. He tells you he'll lie to you, and then he does, but you still believe him. Why are you all so outraged that he gave a bullshit explanation now? To his credit, he's an excellent showman and psychologist, but that IS all he is. I'm not saying I'd be able to do anything like it, but I don't foresee him as some second coming, and I hate people who essentially preach about him like he is. I'd love to actually look at some of his more psych based stuff(aspects of The Seance thing, his other stuff on refuting psychics and mysticism), but I'm not sure I'd trust it depending how it's written. Does anybody have his books, and can they tell me what they're written like?
