Haha, how hard/bad can it be? Consolewise, I've taken apart two PS2s of different build, cleaned their lenses/raised them and fixed them, helped someone just clean theirs and fix it, taken apart a gamecube(layer by layer, things were built solid to not be taken apart!) and sprayed its case, taken apart a GBC and a GBA, and only really broken the GBA but that's cos I was negligent and left the screen lying around. I sort of broke the GC for a bit, but took it apart and put it together again and it worked. I took my DSPhat apart too! I have a bit of faith in myself after all that, otherwise I wouldn't be trying it! I also fixed my mate's GC that stopped reading discs, I'm not going into this unprepared or unaware of the risks. Point in hand though, I didn't post this thread for scorn or doubt, just wondered has anybody here on the forums taken their wii apart and successfully put it together again in proper working order? The few guides I found regarding cleaning a wii lens seemed to suggest not doing anything to the drive and just bending/wiggling a rubbing alcohol soaked q-tip about! That sounds a bit dodgier than sensible to me, really. I was just hoping someone might have a guide for and/or experience in doing the deed. I'm not generally a hardware man, but I don't mind fiddling with it if I have a good guide and advice. I just want to be prepared for the drive when I get to it, really.

Yes, and I'm not keen to lose my wii for an unforeseen amount of time especially not with christmas coming up. I could easily uninstall the homebrew channel to later reinstall it(presuming they send back my very same wii) though similarly I'd have to uninstall BootMii and run risking the loss of that as a backup protection against bricks, which I'd rather not as I intend to keep running the HBC channel so that I may be enabled to play my NTSC Brawl. My other alternative is to fully equip my wii with the ability to pirate/play game backups, for the actual legitimate purpose of playing Brawl, but it's something I'm not keen to do as it's too close a gateway into actual piracy on my wii, really. Also, for me to open it up and give it a clean myself is both fun and interesting, as well as the advantage of being free and done in good time.

My Wii is dicking me about with my NTSC brawl disc, I can't conclude whether it is the disc or the Wii, but I'm willing to try opening and cleaning the blasted thing, but I don't have a nice through guide on doing so. I have a guide that can get me inside to the bits, but not one for getting to the lens on the drive(the guide is a guide to install a modchip) and I was wondering if anybody out there has one, and preferably, has tried and succeeded in doing so by themself? I've got a triwing screwdriver which fits most ninty stuff, only thing I've found that it didn't was a micro, so I presume I'll be fine for that.

Ok. I wanted a penis(omgaygayalolol) the other day, specifically one drawn in MsPaint, so I googled quite such a thing. In my random folly, little did I know I would discover possibly the best thing ever to grace the internets. I contemplated posting it here, then I decided against, now I've decided for! Essentially, somebody posted a penis, and set the challenge to make it NOT look like a penis using only MsPaint, with only one certain ground rule; Rule 1 - 50% of the original picture must remain, i.e. you can't just white out the whole picture. http://www.tribalwar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=570589 I don't know if/how well this will work, but we're a forum largely full of boys, and no boy has made it through his life into manhood(and very much beyond) without being artistically creative with a penis at some point(though not literally), so I'm hoping this might just work. I guess it'll be done by, people create a new picture out of the penis, we decide on the best, that person then gets to draw their own penis(again not literally) and so forth. Unlimited entries per penis, as long as it isn't like...a billion of them. If you're confused, check out the thread above. Oh yeah, mods/admins, despite this being well funny, I can totally foresee it not being cool on the boards, if it isn't, get your locking fingers out and just lock the thread right up. I haven't read all posts, long things. My friend is doing her psych PhD in videogames or something, I might ask her about it, though she only started a month or two ago(I may also rope you all in for studies ). Anyway, my mum pretty much never let me have any age rated games as a kid, I was the one loser who never got Perfect Dark because I was 13/14(thought I was older!) and it was an 18, apparently. I coulda sworn it was a 15. Maybe that was a lie I told to convince my mother. Sum up that point, I used to act a bit mental, more so than my peers, despite not having or being exposed to this age limited content, so that's one thing. Second, some parents don't understand game rating systems, ok the BBFC one should be pretty obvious yeah, but like(as I think someone said)...they'd be thinking 'how can an 18 game be as bad as a film? It's just a game'. If little Timmy wants that game too, and he's a half smart kid, he'll be lying out of his teeth to his mother about it. He knows about it, she doesn't, he presents a believeable story; that'll win over some parents to buy it. Whiny little shits are rewarded for whining all the time, 'oh how bad could one little game really be *gives to Timmy so he'll stfu*'. The other thing is of course, the one in a million chance. That one in a million who IS a mentalist, waiting for their mentalisms to be unlocked by some crazy ass game. Nobody cares about the 999,999 people who don't go out and murder the fuck out of their school, they didn't make it into the news. Not so little anymore Timmy the Tearaway has. The question is though...is this one person's misdemeanours acceptable just because 999,999 other kids didn't go crazy and shoot up their school?
