Not me, I've hardly been here. Little point now, he's only got a few hours before I follow this through...
-
We're waiting on the Dariest of Dans, he has roughly...24 hours from now, until I pass it on to the Spambot4000...
-
I have literally just had the most crucial poop of my life so far.
-
Godammit does NOBODY read?!? Find that pm you sent and CC me a copy.
-
Yeah to be fair it hadn't even been a day when I posted that. I was merely going to prompt a friendly reminder in his general direction, but he was on it before I even posted that, apparently. They're here just for this game, dummy! You guys need to learn to read moar!

I came into this thread making the same mistake as Raining. I thought it was about Creme eggs, which I don't and haven't eaten for years for the fact they just...too sickly sweet for me. I can sometimes have the mini creme eggs, but man, I don't even eat much chocolate anymore! Mini eggs though, they're the little chocolate things in a shell, right? Anyway, maybe it's something to do with Cadburys's recent buyout shenanigans?
-
It's ok, tbh it probably won't be noticeable. After all, we're still waiting on Jimbobble... Was that what I thought it was?
-
As of about 17 seconds ago, yes. There's a call for you, ReZ!
-
Ok, order of play will be as follows; 1. ReZ 2. Jimbob 3. Moogle 4. Ohh, Dannyboy 5. Smeagleman6 6. Paj 7. Marcamillian 8. Sinistar 9. Dan Dare 10. SPAMBOT4000 Late signups still accepted and encourgaed. The rules, well, they should be known but here's a recap. You will recieve a PM with a caption, and a picture, they are independant of each other and unrelated. You must caption the picture, and picture the caption, the forward it on to the next person whilst also CCing to me. You have 72 hours to perform your duties. Once you have sent your PM, make a post here, just so everyone who's playing can see that the game is actually moving along. It's that simple. Any questions, just ask!

I shall look to start this shit up tomorrow, but in the mean time I urge you all to give in to your urges and go urge people to come play. Urge. I really had an urge to use the word urge alot. Bit like Edd-urge. But...uh...yeah, go coax people!

Or an amateur/professional filmmaker/photographer who's using the police as a subject? Or somebody attempting to capture on film the injustices/malpractices of the police? Or is that not allowed? I never expected you to be one to be guilty of a false dichotomy! I personally think we should have a right to be able to film them if there's no harm intended. Though whilst attempting to look into this, I've just found this; http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7888301.stm It says it was updated on Feb16, but I dunno if thats when it was originally published, if so then it's real recent. It's an Interesting read about a law(under terrorism related law, suprise suprise) outlawing pictures(and presumably therefore video) of any member of the Armed Forces. It interestingly points out the Royal Family come under such a banner too...

Crime is a Problem. The Police are the widely pushed solution to that problem. If there is still Crime, then clearly the Solution isn't good enough, blame the Solution! If the Problem is worsening, then so is the Solution! He was defensive, imo. Still not a saint, but he reacted accordingly given the aggression from the police. You wouldn't like someone filming you? You're not an on duty police officer. They didn't know whether filming was legal or not? Well, get informed! Don't just CLAIM it's illegal without good basis, if you don't know the law and you're a representative of it, don't just fill the gaps with your own stuff. If they actually geniunely and reasonably believed it was an offense(ie at some point in their career/training were told so), then they're being badly trained and need updating. They didn't apologise for their mistake, didn't give their names or numbers, and asked for his details without a good reason. I support his stance, though maybe not his attitude. You do raise the good point though. Videos and stories of police NOT doing their job are to be much more common and noticeable than the millions of incidences where they do, a video of the police doing their job is hardly as interesting as them not. Especially when there's a pre-bred attitude of disliking them. Which this thread made me realise. I thought I hated/disliked the police! I still do think I do a bit. But I don't know why! I hear alot of stories about them, and find the 'bad' stories more memorable I guess, or those are the only ones I hear. Then I actually thought of the personal dealings I've so far had with the police(outside of work, it's a bit shit when 6 geared up officers bring a floridly psychotic and aggressive person to the ward, leaving them immediately at the door), and realised I don't really have a bad experience. When I was younger, myself and a few friends once got searched for weed(rightly so) and they were nice and friendly and jokey(though of course we were apprehensive), and only took away the dude who had it. I called them once when I was drunk and thought I'd get mobbed by a massive group of chavs who'd been shouting at me and following me, and their response was good and reassuring. In fact, they do do a rather good job! However, I've heard more 'bad' stories than I have good, or had good experiences, so it's a human flaw of thinking that plagues us I think. My friend's dad ended up in a cell because an off-duty officer started a fight with a friend of his son. It's the people in the force that's the problem, just like the people out of it, not the force itself. We expect better than that though! How dare these people be human beings! BUT ANYWAY. Just because they do a good job and are better than the forces of other countries doesn't mean we should excuse criticism where it's due. The criticism and questioning is needed in order to improve and keep the force a good one. Maybe. I dunno. I'm hungry...

I did try the Mirror's Edge demo a while back, it was enjoyable, I'd just heard at the time that the game was a little less open/more linear than people expected, and it could get repetitive at times. It's going to be on my list for my next round of purchases. As for Mass Effect, I guess my problem was that it's just got...too much talking in it! I was also playing on my SDTV struggling to read sometimes, I'll try it out again soon, probably starting over afresh as it's been a over a year since I played. Anyhow, for now I am done, I've gotten Prey for £3.50 as previously stated, Viva Pinata:TiP on order for £4.99 brand new, and also Condemned for £5, so I'm pretty happy! I'm so tempted to buy more, but I think I'll wait a bit til I actually take these ones for a spin.

Sweet stuff! The two above dudes are friends of mine from over the pond, coming in JUST FOR THIS GAME because they realised it is AMAZING, so give them a nice welcoming and stuff. Be as cool as me if you can, get all YOUR friends involved too! Also, more of the older games, maybe;

Forum Telephone is BACK bitches! Sorry about the lack of it, I just...stopped coming here. But I am back, if only for this! Why? Well, because it's awesome! You should know that if you've played before! What's that? You HAVEN'T played before?! HAHAHA, you LOOOSER! Oh well, don't worry, sign up and join in, it's real easy and real funny! If you don't believe me, just check out the first posts of some of the older threads! So anyway, in order to play the game, we're gonna need some players! I know you're all desperate to be part of the coolest game going down in N-Europe town, and that's just fine, because there's no limit on how many people can play...maybe. You might be wondering HOW to play though, if that's the case, it's simple! (The cool kids who already know can skip this bit) Any questions, just ask! Also, if anyone knows how I could have like...the first 2-10 posts in a thread, please let me know. I want to put all the old games in the first post of each thread, but there's an image limit per post and then there's the whole double posting tings and that etc... ANYWAY! GOGOGO! Signup if you want in! Hoping to get the game running within a week, or even less! (Big apologies for the whole delays) Past Games!

Wow, alot of feedback, thanks guys. I've mainly been checking playtrade and ebay really, for preowned stuff to get an even bigger edge on the cheapness. Has anybody played blue dragon? Is it any good? It's one I happened to see for like £5 on playtrade. I might invest in mirror's edge I guess, though I heard it was a bit on the short side, but I guess if I find that for a fiver it ain't too bad either. I played Viva Pinata upon le DS, but it seems there's two for the 360? Trouble in Paradise is cheaper, so I'll probs pick that up. Maybe Condemned too methinks. So my current choices are Mirror's Edge, Viva Pinata and Condemned, I'm thinking the latter two for just over a tenner, not a bad price! I'm going to aim to spend a tenner every month on a 360 game methinks... With all this talk of ME1 as well, I never really got too far into it before giving up, so I guess I'll go dig it back out and take it for a bit more of a spin... EDIT: I checked the price of Prey and it was £3.50 off PlayTrade, I've bought it! Nothing else yet though... That is...extensive! Looking around, I can see how one can end up in such a position, I'm finding so many cheap games but I know little about them, but thinking for such a price I could go mental and buy...loads of them!

I know the 360's got a vast and awesome back catalogue, and I'm contemplating purchasing something new but cheap to hold my attention for a while. The question is...what do I buy! Maybe something fun that looks pretty too, now I have HD. Big ones I have already are; Crackdown(just recently bought for <£10), GTAIV, Fable 2, UFC2009, Orange Box, ME1...and no doubt some others I just can't think of right now. Currently contemplating Blue Dragon though I really don't know why, I know little of it really. So yeah, anyway, any recommendations of a cheap oldie but goodie I'd never have played?

Just wondering if anyone out there has much experience with ways to get a solution for the 360 wirelessly without shelling out the ridonkulous price they charge for the wireless adapter! I had been considering something I stumbled across called DD-WRT(firmware hack, an option of which is to make a wireless router into a wireless client/reciever), unfortunately the cheapy router I just bought appears to not be able to be DD-WRT hackable. My technical question however, is what would the name be for a thingy that has say, one ethernet port, and wireless, so it could wirelessly connect to my network then share that through to a wired only device? Is that a bridge? Do they particularly happen to exist much anymore? Are they cheap? Alternatively, does anyone know of any cheapy DD-WRT hackable routers? Looking for any solution under £25 really, I've seen some 'pre-installed DD-WRT' routers on ebay from HK for £25 all in, but then I dunno how good they'd be...

I read something once which siad that, Li-ion batteries suffer quite terribly in heat and I think from constant charge beyond a point with no discharge, so keeping your laptop plugged in whilst having the battery in also tends to drastically reduce the lifespan of batteries. I read something about a good number/frequency of total discharges or recharges(as you can see I don't remember much) with one being more important than the other, but I dunno what it was now. I remember it said the best charge to store them at long term is ~40% tho, and somewhere not too hot. EDIT: Found it in my real old favourites http://www.batteryuniversity.com/parttwo-34.htm

I believe Mint was born off the back of ubuntu anyhow, or they share alot of stuff or something. I got bored earlier and decided to take it for a spin on the other comp with the LiveCD, then I went and installed it on there too! Thinking I'm gonna be pretty ready to get it off the ground running when I get my HD in the week Not been doing all that much with it so far, but I like it, easier than I was otherwise expecting in fact. Only unsolved problem so far is an issue with the Wireless(USB adapater, DWA-140) but I'm gonna work on it in the week.

Cheers for the advice K-Pro, was getting set on the idea of Mint but I think that's just solidified it for me. My drives gonna be a nice spacey 500GB, and fresh out the box too, I'm just gonna do an XP home install(was gonna partition it with that) then do a Mint install shortly after. The reason I'd end up needing to write to NTFS is just cos the drive currently in here is NTFS formatted, so I'd be read writing to the drive as I'm gonna use it in an external caddy. I'm hoping that I won't have any problems with it as an external HD either. As said, thanks for the info guys, I'll return in a few weeks to let you know how it goes!

I'm about to get my first non-crt TV, does the 360 upscale DVDs through HDMI so they look good on full HD/HD Ready TVs?

Ok, I have mentioned this before but don't think I've ever made a thread. I'm contemplating getting into Linux in the next week or two when I get my new HDD, dual booting alongside XP. Does anybody here use Linux? I might want somebody to adopt me as a Linux buddy in case I ever needs me some help... Out of Fedora, Ubuntu, and Mint(or other better alternative) what is the best distro to start with as a beginner? Is it all preference or are some actually easier than others? Should I be ready and wary of any major potential pitfalls(I read NTFS was a problem in linux, but not now)? I've also realised all I use mainly is Internet/FF, MSN and mIRC, then just other stuff like paint/calc/msoffice etc on occasion. Given that, I don't imagine it'll be too drastic a change as I'm not doing major things with my comp right now. I'm gonna be attempting to teach myself Python for giggles too, but that shouldn't matter. When I get up and running, I might pop back to this thread for help from anyone who knows if I can't find my answers anywhere else.
