I'm with Jay and Coolness, I'm going for the people and the company, and thus find it very difficult to end up being bored and not having fun just sitting on a patch of grass chatting to you guys, but maybe that isn't for some. I didn't realise that people hadn't enjoyed last year's meet! I think it probably was a bit briefer overall, and the end was a bit abrupt, we all just sort of suddenly disappeared in different directions and I dinnae know what was happening! I''d guess at it being infringement(they'd call it copyright infringement I assume, applying to any IP rights but I'm not sure), they wouldn't call it theft because it isn't theft and that is my point. You know how finickity the legal system can be and it's simply calling something by its wrong name, actually something which I believe could get a charge or case dismissed. What you all wish to assume of what I'm saying is up to you, despite the fact I've stated more than once that I am not addressing the actual legality of the matter in my posts, and would rather wish people would stop acting like I was! Grunch also pointed out a very crucial legal difference between the two, too. EDIT: I went to work after this post and realised that I forgot to point out the most obvious point. That is that you also can't 'steal' an idea either, when you can copy it, but the original idea will still remain in the originiator's head and mind etcetc (and holy triple post what is up with that and you should be revising too!)

Either way, most people making money out of something love it enough that they pay for it anyhow. If 'illegal' downloading does get outruled/go underground, I don't see it setting us back more than 10 years or so anyway, we'll go back to the days of copying cds/dvds and sharing music with our friends. Hell, a few dvds and you could write an entire music collection to it to give to someone at the price of what, 30p maybe?

No, it is not. Piracy and Copyright Infringment is not the same as stealing, just as ABH and GBH are not the same, grand theft auto and robbery are not the same etc. I didn't say anything about illegality, I just want people to not call it stealing because it isn't. I EVEN said I would download a car in the hopes it would make anybody with some sense actually put some thought into it and work it out for themselves. Just ask yourself, how would one even begin to download a car? The difference is with theft, an actual item is stolen and there is nothing left in its place(or maybe a smelly turd if you're really mean), that doesn't happen with what we're talking about, and thus it is not stealing. I'm not addressing any aspects of legality here, however, just the concept.

I've only just seen this video. I'd like to think I understand war, and I'd understand this video and how it came about, but what upsets me most about it is knowing that it's a war that WE pushed upon THEM, and that our countries are still there fighting it for whatever goddamn reason they deem good enough, and I can't see any reason good enough for shit like this to have to happen.

Anyway, so this bill has gone through? Who decides these things? How does it just get through like this with no sort of public consultation? If I torrent a TV show, do I lose my internet? What if I watch it on youtube? Who's making these decisions about whether I should be cut off? How the fuck are these things managed to happen, and why is it I always seem to only find out about it AFTER it's happened?!
