N-E Online Mario Parties (Week 27 - Waluigi's Island - MP3)
BowserBasher replied to Glen-i's topic in Nintendo Gaming
What a manic finish that was. And @Glen-i Wonders why I don’t steal from first when I’m in third. Steal from second to finish second. -

So there was one other moment last night that had VC laughing so much that I forgot to press the record button, so I went in and MKTV'd it just now. -

I wondered why he weren't getting online. (He's ashamed of my awesomeness to prove his theme wrong. )Room open. -
If you're looking for builds that will take you more than a few hours then, you're going to be looking at spending a fair amount on a set. I think anything over the £75 price range should be a good start there, you can easily make them last. But if you're looking for a set that will take a day or two (or more) then you're going to be looking at some of the Expert Creator sets. Maybe even venture into the Technic side of Lego as they can be more time consuming with the little details pieces. I have the roller Coaster set that took me a few days to do. The DeLorean Time Machine set took me a good while to build. If you have the funds and really want to do all in with build time, maybe something like The Eiffel Tower should take a long time to build, or the set with the most pieces (I think it is still it), Titanic. I can see that taking a while to build, but it looks fantastic, (still saving for that one), the Loop Coaster seems like a good fun build that could take a bit of time too. last on my current to get list is the Lord of the Rings set, Rivendell. but it's all personal preference really on what you like to build. Hope you can find something.

When I say cheat I mean the Red Bricks that you can turn on in one of the menus. All Lego games have them and usually are things like stud multipliers (so funny when you have them all enabled at the same time and rack up so many just from a few studs), invincibility, quick build, stuff like that. 5is game has one of those red bricks enables the colour shooting gun thing that fires the right colour needed for the puzzle/thing you shoot.

I think it would completely depend on what you like in the way of themes. I mean I could say for me that The Mighty Bowser set was totally worth the cost based on the build and how awesome he looks. I love the fairground sets but the can be quite expensive too. Build time will vary based on person too. I could probably build any of the sets I built within a day but tend to lengthen it out by just doing a set number of bags per day. It’s going to come down to how much you want to build at once and how much you’re willing to pay.

Maybe Nintendo are still holding the fish in tanks at HQ before release date. Oh dear though. Had high hopes for this. Seemed like this could have been big hitter

If you ever go for 100% or just want to work on getting stuff, I strongly suggest going for that one red brick ‘cheat’ that will make it 100x easier. It’s the one that makes your weapon shoot the colour that is needed for what you shoot it at. Normally you have to find colour swap stations, but this makes it so you don’t need them. I think it was in downtown somewhere but can’t remember off top of my head.

The seemed to come out of nowhere didn't it? Never heard about this. It looks beautiful but then these always do. Will have to see how this one develops

First great write up, I double dipped this game when I saw it on sale on Switch, never regretted it. Second, that music on that final level, I can hear it now, it was just perfect the way it built up the way it did.

N-E Mario Kart 8 DX Get Together (All Cup Tour - Week 4 - 1/5)
BowserBasher replied to Glen-i's topic in Nintendo Gaming
OK, @Glen-i Are you ready to change the tracks? So, after Glen mentioned the order of the longest tracks and it being ghost data order, I had to see if this was the actual case or not. I may make a post in the main MK8 thread if people want to see the whole list and a more detailed explanation of how I went about it. But in short, Glen has used the ghost data which is just the fastest times set by the MK staff, took the ten slowest and used them. Well I thought, they will be using shortcuts, boosts, mushrooms, that's not going to represent the longest track surely, just the slowest of the times set. So I went and ran the track in as uniform a way that I could. Some were easier than others but I think I have done the best job possible to get a track length by just driving around the track, using no boosts or turbos at all in time trial mode. I did only run the course once (unless I hit something or had to change the route after testing different routes on laps two and three where you can take different routes, and a couple of falling offs) so it based of one run. I could have done more and averaged stuff but doing them all just once took long enough. So here is my top 10. So according the Glens times the theme needs adjusting. Surprisingly the top 4 are still the longest with just a swap needed. After that it starts to change a fair bit. I'm guessing a lot of the change is just down to shortcuts. Where the staff ghosts use them and I didn't you're going to get a bit of a difference in times. I mean Toad Harbour is 17th in my list. I hope after all the effort, Glen decides to use this list now. It does also mean I have the 10 shortest tracks if we wanted to do that theme one night too. I'll gauge the reactions to this post as to whether people want to see more (unless one person says they want to see it). I'll use the main MK8 thread for it if there is. -

Not familiar at all. Has this been determined that this drawing and resizing is an intended effect, or is it just a weird consequence of doing it? It seems odd that Nintendo would have them specifically react that way when I don’t think they use it themselves in any stages. Either way it has made for some insane stage building and easily the funniest stage you’ve built to date. -
New AC Lego coming August 1st. Resident Services with K.K. Slider and the Airport with Dodos.

N-E Mario Kart 8 DX Get Together (All Cup Tour - Week 4 - 1/5)
BowserBasher replied to Glen-i's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Actually after I said it I went looking for timings online and they are all done by just generally the fastest time around the track, so time trials. So I’ve taken it upon myself to do it. I’ve finished the base tracks and am putting them into a spreadsheet as I type. -

Shame on you. I expect you to take Mario in the Pipe frame kart with bog standard wheels and glider and run the track yourself (no shortcuts, no mushrooms, take the longest route possible on each, no mini turbos) this way you’ll get a good baseline for which tracks really do take the longest. There’s no scientific bases for your method. -

That’s Mario Kart for ya! -
If you make enough wild guessing and call them leaks, one is bound to be right and you can then say “I told you so”. I’ll wait for Nintendo to tell us. oh and my brothers friends dads mum, who walks her dog with a guy that went to school with a boy who’s dad now works at Nintendo says that the new machine will be powered by unicorns and shoot rainbows out of it whenever you boot it up. Also it’ll be backwards compatible with every system before it and you can just put in all your old games into the appropriate slot in the new console.
