Sorting out my desk at the moment so decided to grab a few things to help tidy things up and create some space. Finally swapping out my gen 1 Amazon Echo as well for a smaller Dot for the same reason.

Just watched the first 2 episodes of WandaVision. They certainly commit to the bit with this show. It’s very cheesy but the underlying mystery of what’s going on really helps. Looking forward to seeing where it goes.

Playing so much FFXIV at the moment. I started a new character after the last time I posted as I just don't think I understood how to play the game well the first time around so wanted to start from scratch, learn all the abilities properly and follow the story. Went with a Black Mage again and am doing much better this time around. So nice to get really sucked into a game again....it's been a while. Here's my Black Mage. Happ N'stance again as I like that name

Oh yeah I'm not trying to make excuses, just wondering how he got to this point. There are people that will have been thrown in before they have the correct knowledge and skills then there will be people like this who shouldn't be in that position regardless.

So what is the background of this Andre guy? Was he the creator of the channel and got thrown into a role he wasn’t ready for? I feel like you see that a lot with Youtubers. The “influencer” boom seemed to throw a lot of people into situations they weren’t ready for, becoming public figures, leading what would basically become companies or as we saw a lot, basically the PR arm of game publishers without really grasping what they were doing or why they should have been disclosing things.

Posted in the bought thread but figured I’d put it here as well. Doing ok so far with the collection. Will probably take a break eBaying for now until Feb.

Started work on collecting all the Final Fantasy games this week, got off to a good start. The FFII and III boxes are just replacement boxes but I do own the proper SNES carts.

Some of their older content is still some of my favourite video game stuff on the internet and I regularly go back and watch it. Bought a months premium sub late last year and basically downloaded a couple of terabytes worth of their videos to put on my Plex server.

I sold all my physical Switch games this year and the only reason the console didn’t go with them was that I wasn’t in the mood that day to deal with the hassle. I’m never gonna get games on the Switch that I can play elsewhere so if I do keep the console then I need some exclusive stuff that draws me in. Re-releases of Mario games that I’ve played before didn’t do that so to be honest I don’t know what I want. I can’t think of anything announced at the moment that I want to get.

No I haven’t for a while as I wasn’t a fan of the new members like Abby or Ben so I’m actually really happy they’re both off. They’ve said before that GB isn’t really a place where you can progress with your career as there’s nowhere really to move up in the structure of the site/company so younger staff like Abby/Ben/Dan/Austin/Patrick need to move elsewhere eventually, nothing that indicates a problem I’d say. GB has probably just become one of the bigger stepping stone sites to get people noticed elsewhere and learn from people like Jeff. As far as I know the site itself and the podcast are still pretty stable. They brought in premium subscriptions years before things like Patreon so they’ve got a steady and regular stream from that and their podcast numbers have always been high. Personally I don’t think their output is worth it anymore and I stopped paying about a year ago. I’m hoping that these staff leaving will give me a reason to go back to the site but unfortunately it wasn’t the only issues I had so I dunno.

Every time I get furloughed I seem to rearrange my room out of boredom. Just finished dismantling my desk, shifting everything around and getting ready to order a smaller desk. Didn't help that this time because I've barely done anything over Christmas with my muscles in my side being fucked I basically had no strength and am now knackered 😆

Nah, by the end of the first episodes of most Trek shows I felt like I knew bridge crew better than I know Discovery’s. The shorter seasons are no excuse.

I really hope they spend some extra time on the rest of the crew in season 4. It’s all well and good showing them all loving each other but with other Trek shows we would know them all so much better by now. They need to get their own stories.

I think they've announced enough Marvel and Star Wars stuff for me now to keep me interested enough to continue with the sub after my free O2 time runs out in a few months.

Just FFXIII-2 to add to the list today. Looking forward to the retro video game markets reopening at some point so I can search for some deals on the rarer titles.

I thought the explanation for the burn as a season long arc was a big letdown. Despite giving them a new and interesting playground to write for with the future I would actually say this was the weakest season so far. Not terrible but a lot of wasted opportunity that I hope they take advantage of in season 4.

Yeah. Sticking with Playstation for the newer titles if possible. XI is PC at the moment.

Won auctions for FFXI, FFXIII & FFXIV this afternoon so I'm managing to get the cheap one pretty quickly.

Just waiting for the phone call to confirm it but it looks like I am getting furloughed again until the schools come back. It'll be at 100% pay so that's great but it really was the boredom last time that got to me. I was hoping to at least keep on working from home to give me something to do. I guess it'll just give me more time to keep leveling my FFXIV character anyway!

I'd forgotten about this thread. Think I'll move my discussion on trying to build a FF collection in here as well so it doesn't flood the Retro thread. After ordering the Final Fantasy Ultimania Archive Volume 2 yesterday I also went and ordered 2 replacement boxes for my NTSC SNES versions of FF 2 & 3. If the quality is good then I might use the same guy for the rest of my SNES collection as it'd be nice to actually get them on display like my Mega Drive ones.
