It's definitely a shame to see there will be no VC at launch. Probably means that once I'm done with Zelda my Switch may end up gathering dust for a few months. Socks that it took Nintendo this long to tell us that as well.

I did that with my PS4 preorder and it worked fine.

Getting pretty windy outside at the moment with this storm. Our power has just gone out so I'm hoping it's just a quick one and not a line down.

The Mass Effect trilogy and dlc are currently on sale on the PSN. Its so tempting to just buy them again to play through but I'm also holding out hope that they'll get a re-release. We still do have conflicting reports on if they are willing to re-release it or not. Dont forget that while the quote that they wouldnt came out after the interview saying it was a possibility, it turned out that quote was said sometime beforehand so they could have changed their mind after seeing interest and how well other re-releases have done.

I have Thursday and Friday off but that's just because I wasn't working anyway.

Really starting to look forward to this now. Mass Effect Andromeda and Persona 5 are easily my most anticipated games of the year. Also got preorders in for the 2 main character statues that'll be coming out and the Art of Mass Effect Andromeda book. Then it will just be the Nexus Uprising book to buy but I think I'll get that after I've played the game.

Odd, I tried the other day before I posted that and it still wouldnt let me. I'll give it another go now. EDIT: Turns out I was trying to change the nickname and not the UserID. Happenstance was taken so I just went with HappenstanceUK. Matches all my other gaming IDs anyway.

Preordered the two new Mass Effect Andromeda figures today. Decided to get in early this time considering how quickly all the figures from the previous games disappeared. I'm seeing different dates for release though so no idea when I'll be getting them.

As you'll be able to see from the purchases thread, I ended up getting the Mavic. Really looking forward to giving it a try but it probably wont be until Friday now when the weather clears up a bit. Still though, I'll try and get some test footage up. What I'm more looking forward to is (as long as @Goafer is up for it of course!) trying to find new and interesting places to fly these things. Maybe even trying to sort out a trip for a day or two somewhere.

It doesnt have enough characters available for me to use Happenstance so I have to stick with Happs.

Assigning a lowest possible score to a game before it's out is pretty ridiculous anyway. That kind of thing is what causes the fanboys to riot when a game doesn't get what they've decided it deserves even before they've played it. Like say with Mario 3D World.

Sometimes when a publisher knows a game isn't as good as it could be they send out games either as late as possible or have late embargoes to avoid the chance of losing out on preorder money. It's less of a certainty these days though. Some companies have started to make it a policy to send out games really close or actually on release. They'll break that for Youtubers though sometimes. It's not a great new practice. I'll always trust an actual games journalist over most Youtubers.

Just because a game is an MMO doesn't automatically make it taxing. FFXIV has versions from last gen as well so it should be able to port to the Switch.

My main Bomberman game was Mega Bomberman on my Mega Drive. Played a lot of that with friends.

Sounds like the reviews for this are pretty positive overall.

Its always weird when you hear someone say they didn't play a game that was big in your childhood. Kind of snaps you back to reality and reminds you that not everyone played the same games you did lol.

I think he's trying to upload it to the actual forum. Some forums do allow that.

I think you just have to hope any games that do get ported over don't just become the obvious lesser versions. That won't always be a graphical thing either. It could be like a Shadow of Mordor, a great game on current gen but the PS3/360 versions removed the Nemesis System, the thing which really made that game stand out.

Given how good it looks on the other consoles/PC it makes you wonder if they'd be able to without a significant downgrade.

The Xbox One UI is probably the worst I've ever used. Just terrible.
