Sigh...... My truck engulfed in flames on the I280 bridge in Toledo Ohio last Tuesday morning. I slid on black ice into the rear end of a semi, who slowed down because of all the gawkers looking at the onramp accident. Then a second truck hit me and after getting out, I turned around to see orange under my hood. Which spread to the whole truck. No injuries and no one was cited. Fuck Christmas. My year has gone to shit the last two Christmas'. I'm done, time to be a grinch. Especially with all the depressing shit happening in this thread. Stay strong Martinist. Edit, Is it just me/opera not resizing that picture and making it fuck all huge? Let me know and I'll snip it into a link.

Back of my Calf was way worse than my shoulder. Granted, nowhere near the spine. Looks great though! Did you do multiple sessions or just power through it for 7 hours?

Nolan replied to Aneres11's topic in General Chit Chat
Its been too long since I've heard this.....5 years I think. Bump/edit: Also this. -
Epic fucking numb of 3 years, but. I just screenshotted this quote to show someone that always has itchy ears. Its basically spot on. Also searching clitoris turns up unsurprisingly few results. So...thank you J7 thank you.

Oh I didn't realize. Lead to light is also a song on the 6 track EP Fury oh Fury. Of which all 6 songs are awesome. I really need to buy the albums myself. Perfect driving music. -

Why Do People Get Into The Christmas Mood So Early?
Nolan replied to Fierce_LiNk's topic in General Chit Chat
All the "after October it's totally Christmas" people are making me sad. In the US at least we have Thanksgiving to look forward to beforehand. Regardless of November having holidays, isn't it the 12 days of Christmas? Not the two months. -
Why Do People Get Into The Christmas Mood So Early?
Nolan replied to Fierce_LiNk's topic in General Chit Chat
I'm going to go with crippling depression, and they're trying to escape by looking forward to something so associated with joy? As early as they need to look forward to it. Of course I'm like John Snow, I know nothing. But I fucking hate that Christmas things go up any earlier than December. It's utterly ridiculous, and reflects poorly on our cultures. -
http://tommyrefenes.tumblr.com/post/62476523677/my-time-with-the-steam-controller The guy that made Super MeatBoy had a hands on with the steam controller. Interesting read.

Also a viable option, just requires some waiting. I don't think there are concrete release dates for anything though. And personally no clue on pricing beyond the 280x ~$300 rumored to be a renamed 7970GHz Edition. So waiting is a bit iffy if you want to play able to play now.

Gaming on one and watching something on the other would work fine, great even. I use to play WoW on my laptop and also be watching Netflix and in a chatroom on my second screen. Sorry to have lost you, my mistake.

Actually, it has Display Port as well which can also carry the audio signal. I'm wary about saying a 7850 will last for a any amount of time. We are about to hit a new console generation and it's a bit up in the air. Though 2 years with setting being turned down is a fair estimate. But a single card is not going to run two monitors anywhere near high. I have 2 7950s that are lightly OCd and at 2560x1440 (3.6 million pixels versus 4.1 of two 1080p displays) And I'm not getting an average 60 at max settings in some of the newer titles. Most ports are fine, but games like Far Cry 3 Sleeping Dogs Tomb Raider Borderlands 2, hell even Alan Wake I have to fiddle with the settings. For the most part not having AA is enough (and larger resolution its not as important) but Tomb Raider still hovers around 40-50. Which is playable at least. A Single mid-range card isn't driving two monitors. It's also a lot more expensive to jump into multimonitor setups than you might think. It was cheaper for me to sell my old monitor and buy a 27" Korean for about 600 less than brand names. And the panel is the same one Samsung would use. Unless you're like others and moving away from the AAA side of gaming and loving on the Indies, if thats the case you probably won't have issues running 99% of games.

When I became eligible I was 1/78,000 So...lots of luck winning the lottery.

I agree on that front. I like the license board more myself, but everyone was a basically a clone in terms of the board. It was just too small of a board. Also of note on that subject... http://img9.imageshack.us/img9/8254/poetree.png http://liquidelectron.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/PoE2.jpg Links to images for Path of Exile, it has some amazingly large Sphere Grids. The classes are separate though.

Ahem.... http://www.nosgoth.com/blog Plfa;oirhiuht nmfngk;ls Registered. 1/78000 for Steam OS beta....yikes

If you were to actually read the press release.... The Steam OS is an OS that runs games natively (other OS features that a standard PC would have are still in the air) the streaming is merely for the games that are not yet ported to SteamOS/Linux (which are likely very similar) Streaming your games means that you in fact have another PC in your house on your home network that you turn on to run the game. Your PC with SteamOS is merely hooked up in the living room so you can play on the big screen etc. Just as PC gaming has always been you will still need the appropriate hardware to push your games. The streaming is not like Gaikai where it's a paid service from out of your home. The DRM will obviously be Steam, for games acquired on Steam. Being an OS (based on Linux) it's reasonable to expect other services and non-Steam games to run, so Origin Uplay and GoG will likely have their own places. Games being optimized for DirectX is neither here nor there. Xbone will use DirectX but typically Sony consoles (and Nintendo?) have used OpenGL to achieve great graphics. Games already ported to Linux (with better performance than before) are also using OpenGL. SteamOS is also free to users and to Manufacturers. So I think we may see something similar to the Android Phone/Tablet market. One friend of mine even had the thought of "Steam ready TVs" with the OS ready built in to just stream from your PC. It'll be an interesting time.

Holy fucking shit, I've never heard of a card going to 116! Usually the fail safe kicks in at 100 and the PC reboots. Anyways, Sheikah is spot on. And I'll go so far as to say do not get the 1GB model period. Higher resolutions demand more memory, especially if you want to use any amount of MSAA. And games in generally are taking more advantage of the memory. If that is definitely out of the price range though, http://www.amazon.co.uk/MSI-HD7790-DDR5-PCI-E-Graphics/dp/B00DURD12Y/ref=sr_1_17?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1379999269&sr=1-17 it isn't quite as powerful but would serve your needs admirably. My friend gets on quite well with his 7770 at 1680x1050. So this 7790 might not be maxing anything it'll do well. Don't forget to price check though as I haven't, I used to do that but I've forgotten half the UK sites I use to check. Also lazy.

Valve has already demonstrated that when porting some of their games to Linux they gained quite a performance boost. Seeing that Steam OS is linux based it makes sense that it would be the same way. The fact that it will be optimized as a gaming OS is icing on the cake. I'm in, I'll try it as a Dual-boot in my second PC first and if all goes well it might just become a single boot Steam OS.

Basch became a character again....eventually. At least you have a better excuse than a friend of mine. He boils it down to he quit playing at "Evil Twin Brother" Well his brother isn't necessarily evil. So that statement just annoyed me.

I can't say X didn't have Soul, but its charm was off the mark for me. I played through it once, and only once and that was more than enough. And HD holds nothing new for me, as an emulator did quite well in that regard. XII isn't really about the main characters. They're just plot tools to push it forward, it always seemed more about the realm and the politics to me. And well...I was interested in that, more so than Tidus and Yuna by far.

Speak for yourself. @Charlie Spot on I'd say. Same Winner/Runner up as I choose.
