Zelda: Twilight Princess Discussion (SPOILERS: BEWARE)
Kazzahdrane replied to EchoDesiato's topic in Nintendo Gaming
1. None, other than the Wii version supporting true widescreen and possibly progressive scan? (both might support that though) 2. For a game like Zelda "length" is a fairly loose term. One person might race through all the dungeons and finish it in 30 hours where another will hunt down every heart piece and collectable and take 100+ hours. Hopefully the game will keep track of your play time though, it's always nice to know. 3. AFAIK nothing official is known. Most Zelda timeline stuff is conjecture by fans anyway, only a few are known to definetely take place before/after another game. -
At Gamestation consoles will be handed out according to who pre-ordered first. So if a store gets 70 Wii consoles the first 70 people who pre-ordered will get one from that first delivery. This means there's no real pressure to attend a midnight launch (unless you want to, since they are great fun) to pick up your console since they hold it for you for 72 hours. Just clearing that up. So yes the two posters who are #3 and #8 at their local stores will be getting a console at launch.

Zelda: Twilight Princess Discussion (SPOILERS: BEWARE)
Kazzahdrane replied to EchoDesiato's topic in Nintendo Gaming
You obviously didn't speak to many Zelda fans around that time. They went ballistic. "Cell-shaded looks kiddy", "It should be like OoT" etc. -
Article at Games Radar suggests so anyway. I couldn't find the actual interview that the quote was from but I'm already dreading the Wii online service. Hopefully the singleplayer and offline multiplayer will be good enough!

Zelda: Twilight Princess Discussion (SPOILERS: BEWARE)
Kazzahdrane replied to EchoDesiato's topic in Nintendo Gaming
haha, well if the average review is only 9.4 or so I guess we'll all be enjoying it while you sulk and don't play it -
Ahahahahaha. Blizzard have lost all their talent? Get real. I don't play WoW anymore but I still think it's a fantastic game with the same high level of polish as all of Blizzard's releases. However, I'm not really expecting to see any of their stuff on the Wii - except maybe Lost Vikings on the VC.

I really wish people would stop linking to this terrible video. I dunno why people like to see Nintendo depicted as slutty.. :P

Talk like a pirate -19th September!!
Kazzahdrane replied to CoolFunkMan's topic in General Chit Chat
Why are pirates so awesome? They just arrrrrrrrrrrrr. I had really hoped I'd be working in Gamestation today - was looking forward to yarr-ing and arrrrr-ing - but I'm not in after all Got lecturers at uni though! May the pirate talk commence, me hearties! -
This is likely, either a price drop for the Wii 12 months after launch or a new colour/better bundles. AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. I hope you realise that there are like 3 titles confirmed as launch titles for the PS3. And one of those is Warhawk which I really hope has improved control-wise since E3. Wii is going to have the best console launch line-up in gaming history, hands down. Far more games than any other console and lots of support from third-parties, specifically from many genres. Unless you're talking about games like Heavenly Sword which are "launch window" games i.e. 6 months after launch. Nonono. I highly doubt they will. Sony have shown that they don't give a shit about their European customers. Not just with the PS3 delay but with the great value new PSP packs that Europe aren't getting for no good reason. The people who can afford £425 could afford £600. I agree, I expect MP3 and possibly Mario Galaxy/Smash Bros. Two big titles for the Wii should be good for people who think the PS3 is too pricey, and when combined with Halo 3 on the 360 should hold back a lot of possible PS3 buyers.

Haven't all the videos we've seen shown people playing it with friends? Warioware is a great party game so I think Nintendo would be crazy not to make it multiplayer - that's the main focus of the GC game.
-
How do you mean you don't see how? We're taking pre-orders, you get a console. It's very simple. GAME just wait because they screwed in a lot of stores with the 360 pre-orders and took WAY too many. Whereas Nintendo are going to have loads of units available. My store has already taken 43 pre-orders.
-
Amen to that. It certainly has its perks
-
Meh I haven't played Resi 4 on the Cube so I can't comment on the sensitivity comparison. Let's get back on topic....eh.....I love to discuss Wii Hardware!
-
I'm so uncool I even like the Dual Shock controllers. And the reason I put "LOADS OF TEXT" was just to save taking up lots of space with quoting your post while still showing it was in response to what you said. Big posts are awesome

The Gamestation I work in will almost certainly be doing a midnight launch - especially since there's no PS3 this year now so it will be the only we do this year!
-
Yeah, but £45 is a lot of money just for another person to be able to play a game with you. And yes I realise not all games will use the nunchuck but the fact that Nintendo are including it in the Wii box makes it very likely that developers will choose to use if need be. I work in Gamestation and people balk at £19.99 for a PS2 control pad, and the 360 pads start at £24.99 (all 1st party ofc) - Nintendo have priced themselves well out of the casual market controller-wise. I think you'll see a lot of people getting an extra controller set down the line as a birthday/xmas present. I'd also be a lot happier if there was a wiimote+nunchuck pack with a bit of a saving. That Wii Play with its extra controller may well be very popular.
-
Yes but that was £40 for a complete controller. A Wiimote AND nunchuck will set you back £45! Hardly for casual gamers....

Zelda: Twilight Princess Discussion (SPOILERS: BEWARE)
Kazzahdrane replied to EchoDesiato's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Let's face it, Zelda exclusively for their new console is a great way to shift units and not have fans just buying it for the Gamecube. Getting people on board with Wii ASAP is Nintendo's goal. -
Oh yes, GAME stores only took 15 xbox 360 pre-orders each. /sarcasm The GAME store in my town took pages and pages of 360 pre-orders and it was months before everyone got their console. I really wouldn't worry about allocations for a Wii if you pre-order. Nintendo have already said they are going to have lots of units out there. I'd expect something like the DS Lite launch - where it was popular but stores had high stock levels to meet demand. Also, if you go in and pre-order TODAY you WILL get one at launch because it is first-come-first-served at Gamestation and I assume at GAME too.
-
The Wii isn't region-free after all. And no, I wouldn't expect that the quick launch worldwide means we wait less time for releases after Japan and the Americas. The problem is that with Europe most games get translated into a few more languages so we have to wait for that to be done before they are released here.
-
I hope you realise you'd get a better deal pre-ordering from a high street store and checking out their launch day deals. Since that price you're paying £40 for Zelda and there will no doubt be bundles of "Wii + any game for £210" or so.
-
If the 360 system was £220 I'd be pretty interested, and might even chose that over a Wii with a good bundle. To be honest I think if that happened Nintendo might drop the Wii price a little. However, as Ashley said MS have repeatedly stated they have no plans for a price drop before Xmas.
-
Just to let people know: Gamestation stores have been officially taking pre-orders since about 1630 this afternoon. They should be getting proper POS stuff like posters etc up in the next few days but they'll be advertising it enough from tomorrow believe me. Already got mine reserved! £20 deposit for the £179.99 box and of course £20 off when you actually buy it or any bundle (no, the bundle deals haven't been set yet).
-
Sorry but the 360 core system is basically broken unless ALL you want to do is play singleplayer and be all alone in your gaming, alright for some people I guess. But out of the box Wii will let you go online and it's not the broken version of a good console - it will hopefully be the good console itself. Pre-ordered mine this afternoon, £20 deposit at Gamestation!

The way you describe is the way almost every FPS on the PC works. The crosshair is set in the centre and you move the view around with the mouse. So if it's uncomfortable then only for like 0.01% of the population.
