Zelda: Twilight Princess Discussion (SPOILERS: BEWARE)
Kazzahdrane replied to EchoDesiato's topic in Nintendo Gaming
For those wondering which version to get: remember that when you buy your Wii you'll most likely be offered a bundle deal where you can get a game or two and save some money. So getting the Wii version of Zelda will probably work out cheaper. -
questions about the questions and answers

Dude, get rid of that 28k modem. But really....where did you pull that random thought from? A passing weather balloon? -
Zelda: Twilight Princess Discussion (SPOILERS: BEWARE)
Kazzahdrane replied to EchoDesiato's topic in Nintendo Gaming
No need to explain yourself, can't stand people who jump on people asking about graphics and go "omg graphics whore go get a lamebox 3shitty lololol!" Anyway No, not as far as we know. The Wii version however I believe supports native widescreen with the same character models etc. Chances are this will be seen as a pretty ugly Wii game in a couple of years since it has been developed as a Gamecube game. -
Indeed, and also too close in price to the DS/Lite.

Has anyone else heard of BFG and are they any good?
Kazzahdrane replied to Ollie's topic in General Chit Chat
Got a BFG 7900GT in this PC. Wasn't my first choice, wanted to go with XFX but was in short supply at retailers and I didn't want to wait. Very happy with my BFG nonetheless, great card. -
Zelda: Twilight Princess Discussion (SPOILERS: BEWARE)

Oh well at least that's not the case so three cheers all round! -
Yeah wasn't disagreeing with your point about retailers in the slightest mate, just pointing that at least one knows the Wii is here to expand the market so I hope will be supporting it as best they can while it's still economically feasible. My last post used to not have the word "almost" in there but I added it because I couldn't remember if Assassin's Creed is going to make launch for the PS3

Zelda: Twilight Princess Discussion (SPOILERS: BEWARE)

Nope, neither is Pheonix Wright. immy was just mentioning other games to spend the money on that could be spent on a 2nd copy of LoZ:TP. -
Maybe to general retailers, but the game store chain I work for certainly won't be marketing the Wii the same as the PS3. Mostly because you don't have to market the PS3, it's the known name that there's a big public buzz about. In fact, we're actually recommending people buy a Wii instead of a PS3 when they ask about them. Much cheaper, great looking games at launch - versus an expensive status symbol with almost nothing exciting coming for about 6 months after launch.
-
Would like to just point out that I agree with you completely on that point, if not on your 360 opinions
-
Still, to echo points - there's no way the Wii can hope to "wipe the floor" with the current 360 games on launch day. There are now quite a few high quality, fun 360 titles out and by Wii launch Dead Rising will be out here, so will Saints Row (woo GTA clone....again) and Gears of War will probably be right around the corner. But yeah I agree that the Wii needs every game it can get on launch day.

I'd hope so, but Nintendo are being very tight-lipped on the subject. -
Zelda: Twilight Princess Discussion (SPOILERS: BEWARE)

Because I am awesome, fear my power. /Gamestation employee. Also - people buying BOTH versions? That's crazy talk. Why not buy another game with the same money? -
MP3 is the game I want for the Wii (and Mario and Smash Bros of course), I had planned to pick it up at launch with Zelda. If it gets delayed by more than a few weeks I might well pick up Red Steel at launch instead.

Zelda: Twilight Princess Discussion (SPOILERS: BEWARE)
Kazzahdrane replied to EchoDesiato's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I'll be getting a Wii at launch (before launch actually, hahahaha!) but I might well get the GC version of LoZ: TP, depending on whether I hear that the Wii version's controls have been fixed. I say that since last I heard the only way to play with the GC controller was to play the GC version so that might be what I have to do. I really hope they fix it though - making the flagship game for your new console a bit broken would be a seriously bad move, especially if all the people in the know buy the GC version. -
This is the thing that I've never quite understood. My flatmate's TV can play 60Hz-only cube games so I'd assume it can display in 60Hz. However, PS2 games that let you select between 50 and 60Hz always display in black and white on it - very strange. And looking at stuff like the Currys website where it tells you the frequency each TV can display at there are a lot that say "50Hz" and only a couple that say "60Hz".
-
Wow, when did they spout this piece of weapons-grade bullonium? That's is complete and utter rubbish, the Wii can't compete with the 360 on graphics and it doesn't even support HD.
-
I wandered up to the local Currys superstore and was very disappointed with their selection They didn't have a single non-HD TV set that would display at 60Hz - I even asked and the guy checked with the manager. Anyone know the if the £200 28" tv sets Tesco sell can display at 60Hz? At this rate I suspect I'll end up waiting until the end of the year and trying to get a bargain on a decent 28"/32" HD set.
-
I'd hit the blonde, but I wouldn't tell anyone about it. It's a bit like owning a copy of Fifa.
-
You're surprised a game is getting good press when an unreleased console may have a game on it which may be better?
-
I don't follow your point. If they made "totally new titles" then yes they could easily use the Wii's online features. But that has no bearing on retrofitting old NES/SNES/N64/Cube games with online functionality. I hadn't heard that about the Mario Parties, that could be pretty cool. Though to be honest the draw of Mario Party for me is playing it with friends in the same room. A few rounds of Smash Bros. would transition to online much better I think.

I suggest people who find this stuff funny have a listen to "It's Only Me (The Wizard of Wonderland)" by the Barenaked Ladies. No, I have no idea what the bit in brackets is about
-
Hey all - here's my problemo. The only TV I own right now is a little 14" in my room that doesn't even have a SCART socket so I can only play my PS2 on it with an RF connector. Plus it's no way going to be big enough to really enjoy playing awesome Wii games on it. My flatmate has a 20" 4:3 that we have in the lounge and is used for the gamecube etc but he will likely move it back into his room after the summer. So! I want to buy a new TV. I was planning on waiting for the Wii and maybe picking up a TV in the after-Xmas sales, but my dad reckons now would be a better time to get one since he thinks with LCD sets becoming very popular I might be able to pick up a cheap CRT now. What I want: 28" or 32" widescreen (never had a widescreen before but games just look the sex in it) - CRT or LCD but I'd imagine it will have to be CRT to meet my budget. It has to be able to display at 60Hz(or more), otherwise I might have to miss out on games that are on their way and I'd like it to be future-proof in case I end up getting a PS3 or 360 (already some 360 and Gamecube games will only display at 60Hz). HD-Ready? That'd be a nice bonus but since the Wii won't support HD it wouldn't be used for at least a couple of years until the PS3 has dropped a lot in price and I think about maybe getting one. I've had a look online and in shops in town but all the shops are just selling expensive LCDs (I haven't checked any superstore-type shops yet) and any that have sets I'd like within my budget are all 50Hz-only. My budget: £200-£300, which I realise isn't much but I could stretch over that if it was a really really good deal. Any ideas, folks?

We have a 360 one in my work and it's still very popular. There are always people playing Rockstar Table Tennis or Blazing Angels on it, and the fact that it has an HD screen really enhances the look of the games.
