Zelda: Twilight Princess Discussion (SPOILERS: BEWARE)
Kazzahdrane replied to EchoDesiato's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Maybe not on their first playthrough but plenty of people will 100% the game. -
Very sure. I heard it from my manager who heard it straight from his superiors. The whole company is really getting behind the Wii launch, since there's no PS3 this Xmas season.
-
In terms of VC games appearing on the channel menu I imagine it will display shortcuts to perhaps your 4 most recently played titles. The full list you have bought can probably be accessed from a specific channel.
-
Interesting fact: Gamestation are getting 10,000 Wii consoles for launch. They've only taken around 6500 pre-orders so far. So it's pretty safe to put a pre-order in, my store has taken 80+ and we expect to get enough for every single person to get one at launch.
-
Gamestation in Dundee will be.
-
How about NO. Gran Turismo HD is the epitomy of everything I hate about where console games are going. Microtransactions to grab even more of your money. Even though that game will apparently cost almost nothing for the disc and box I still don't see how it could end up being much cheaper overall for the customer - otherwise Sony wouldn't be doing it.
-
Most of the online content would need to be on the game disc when it was published though, just leaving things like the code to communicate with the WC24 system down to a small patch. Otherwise the patch would end up being far too big for the Wii's 512Mb of storage.
-
I really don't think so. Last I heard no 3rd-party launch games would feature online play. And with the three 1st-party titles we have at launch I don't see online happening with them either. Better Nintendo take their time and make sure the online play system is solid before adding it to games.
-
Indeed, Smash Brothers has never really been mentioned as a launch title, except by rumour-mongers. I imagine it will be one of the big Xmas 2007 titles for the console.

Isn't Nintendo Wii heading the wrong way?
Kazzahdrane replied to Kevin_NL's topic in Nintendo Gaming
The ridiculously expensive controllers are my only annoyance price-wise. The games will look considerably cheaper than the PS3 and 360 on the shop shelf, and you get Wii Sports included in the box with the console, good deal. I think Nintendo could stand to make a small loss on each controller sold if it would lower the price and make them more affordable. I don't think we'll see anyone owning 4 sets of controllers as they might have with the PS2/Xbox/GC. -
If Kingdom Hearts 3 became a Wii title (even if it was also on PS3) I'd cack my pants. Mind you, I have a thing about not buying cut-down ports on the Wii, which I suspect KH3 would be. Now, if they made a stand-alone KH game for the Wii like they did with Chain of Memories on the GBA (which is actually very closely related to the plot of KH2 anyway) that would rock so much. Or on the DS - I'm good either way.

Wii online questions and answers - hopefully
Kazzahdrane replied to Cookyman's topic in Nintendo Gaming
So use a wireless router? I mean, fair enough the dongle isn't great but it's not like the PS3 or 360 can use a laser aimed at the moon to connect to the InterWeb or anything. Nintendo are letting people use the technology that's available. Personally I don't have a wireless router but I suspect I'll be getting one once the Wii is out. Will keep my PC connected through ethernet though, wired's always better if you have the choice! I could get the USB ethernet thing for the Wii but it'll no doubt be about £30 and a wireless router won't be an awful lot more. -
You, sir, speak lots of truth. Chrono Trigger would be an instant purchase for me.

Wii online questions and answers - hopefully
Kazzahdrane replied to Cookyman's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Nintendo have said almost nothing useful about the Wii's online features hardware-wise. We don't know if the current WFC USB dongle will work for the Wii, we don't know if the DS can use the Wii as a Wireless Access Point. Why? Because Nintendo are probably still finalising that sort of stuff. Same reason why we won't see any titles with online play for months after console release. Nintendo need to get their act together and show they're really going to embrace online (and a weather and news channel don't count, neither does downloading of retro games). -
Oh my god, the fanboys here are amazing. Valve aren't making anything for the Wii, I'll bet considering was "Hmmmmm...no not right now, maybe way down the line". Sheesh, the Wii has some nice 3rd party support but no need to go making up crazy "facts". I considered becoming an astronaut as a child, but I didn't because it would be too much work for little chance of awesomeness. Do you see?
-
You have to put batteries in the 360 wireless pads too. I'd imagine if there's a perceived demand for it Nintendo will think about making an official Play & Charge kit-type thing for the Wii, but they probably don't want to imply to customers that the controllers will be even more expensive than they already are.
-
Not that I know of. However I'd expect Zelda to be in high demand, but I'd also expect Nintendo to anticipate that and get a lot to stores/online retailers.
-
Fair enough, but I would have thought that people would want to take advantage of bundles with decent discounts. No doubt GAME will have those sorts of bundles in-store at launch, like other game stores.
-
BE WARNED: The pre-order "bundles" from the GAME website are all charged at RRP! There is no saving to be had. I seriously doubt Wii games are going to be hard to find on launch day in shops, pre-ordering a console with games and getting zero discount is madness!
-
I really don't get why people are so excited about placing orders at Gameplay. Everything seems to be at RRP and there isn't actually any discounts (as far as I could see from fiddling with the page). Sure they might offer bundle deals in the future but why bother pre-ordering from them now when you know stores will have bundle deals that will beat what you just ordered from Gameplay?
-
Darv, thank god someone else here has an ounce of sense. If someone bought three additional controllers it would make no sense to give them 3 copies of the same game. Wii Play comes with a bundled FHC to ease the cost of your first additional controller and encourage people to take the step into multiplayer gaming.
-
Considering as in think it would be a lot of work? Sheesh come on people there is almost zero chance of seeing HL2 on the Wii. Maybe a specially-made Valve game though.
-
Morons. It's a free FHC with Wii Play, to make it a little sweeter since it is just more minigames. It will no doubt cost a little more than a standalone FHC and so will appeal to people "a controller AND a game for not much more than a controller!". Giving away Wii Play with EVERY FHC would be such a stupid thing to do, it just isn't happening.
-
Unlikely. Some people won't use the VC and so you'll want a way of getting more money from them after a couple of years - so another Mario Party game then.

Please convert Stars into VC points, Nintendo
Kazzahdrane replied to michaelarran's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Well I have 19,225 stars and nothing to spend them on! Getting a 5000-point VC card for 15,000 wouldn't be bad, though I'm hoping that NoE just put anything up on the catalogue in the future...
