  1. Hmm I've found some of the levels to be quite long, but I've been enjoying the single player campaign mostly. Sky fails as an ISP so I won't be doing any online gaming for the foreseeable future, unless they get their act together, but it has grown on me as I've progressed. Not much story and I agree with some reviews that at some points its a case of run and gun to stop all these re-spawning enemies. Alot of the time tactics does have to go out the window and you just have to run in there and clear out the room. Music is pretty poor I've found and graphically, I think resi4 outshines this on some levels, but all in all I'm find it to be a good game. Perhaps just not so good when my all the fps' I've ordered arrive.
  2. Ten10 is back SUCKAS
  3. Hmm speaking of what Mcphee said, if you happen to see a Pioneer plasma out in the wild get it. Its a rare occurrence, to find one but they are considered to be the best money can buy. But as for burn in just turn on the wii's burn in reduction settings. if things ever get bad just hook up a laptop to it and run Jscreenfix If you have sky plus and put something on pause for an extended period of time turn off the TV. Girlfriend's plasma has a lovely burn in of the the pause button from that, not too annoying but visible none the less. If you want to have a go at being patient you could try waiting for OLed HD tv's to come out at a reasonable price.
  4. WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF I can do this for free, any day of my life. Why the heck would I pay 30 quid to WALK and listen to music. Anyone who buys this is an imbecile. And a super eurobeat sound track doesn't make this game any closer to Initial D.
  5. Well they say the general rule of thumb is <32" get a plasma 32"> get a LCD
  6. What Shino said, can't really be put in any other words for me. After the keyboard and mouse comes the wiimote and nunchuk as far as fps goes. Conduit just fell down because there wasn't much to it.
  7. Hmm well I don't feel so bad abotu paying £17 odd for it from the hut. But I won't have it for the next 3-5 business days so by then everyone might be done with it.
  8. If you run msconfig you will be able to see all the start up processes and disable what you think may be causing the problem. But since you are now into the Operating system perhaps you could try a system restore? Also I don't know if Acer still do this but they have a partition called Data where they've split your hard drive into two. So if it comes to it you can move all your files and documents to the D or whatever partition and then do the restore and transfer them back afterwards.
  9. Sounds like fun. Adobe has done a lot of work with pushing out Air and Flex, but that could also lead to some seriously decent built in apps if Adobe ios working with google on this sort of level. Imagine something like an Air version of the web based photoshop express out of the box / as a free download for the OS. Something like that could probably find a home on the netbook platform.
  10. I don't think there is a version that doesn't have windows media player and I.E. But N versions of windows lack the media player which can be downloaded anyway and E versions lack the Internet explorer. But I wouldn't throw out the idea of E-N versions. As for a comment saying this has nothing to do with browser companies complaining, it was the Opera company that originally filed the Anti trust case against Microsoft. They even did a press release: http://www.opera.com/press/releases/2007/12/13/ Not saying Opera is a bad company, infact they are a very innovative company and have made many brilliant contributions to web technology. They just suck at marketing themselves which is why they are currently in last place. /rant
  11. Well after doing some digging I found it is based on Linux source code. So nothing new there. But perhaps this OS can be to Linux what Ubuntu was supposed to.
  12. I doubt it. I don't think MS would care even though google intend to bring them down. The fact is there are various versions of Linux, and mac OS (which I would say is pretty locked down as you can just run to the shop and install it on your own hardware legallycheck the EULA) I think Microsoft welcomes competition as it stops them from becoming complacent, which we saw at first with Vista (stop it don't go there) and now with windows 7 in terms of UI.
  13. Not necessarily. The EU regulations is a whole bunch of crap from whiny complaining companies who can't get their stuff together and thus complained about it. That is why Windows 7 has no browser because Opera who is dead last in browser market share complained having IE as part of the OS is unfair. Which I think is retarded because even a browser that hasn't been around nearly as long as they have. (google chrome) has managed to surpass them in the department. But before I go off on a tangent, M/S OS isn't a closed system, if you can code you can develop for it. The issue here is will the google OS be a closed format, and then if it isn't what would motivate people or companies to develop for it. There are plent of open source applications out there, but what would move these people to port these works to a tiny netbook/smartbook market.
  14. Engadget was talking about this in a recent podcast. Its pretty much Android the mobile OS being ported/ forked. They pretty much gave the reaction of meh. Not expecting it function too brilliantly. But it would be nice to see the integration of things like google docs etc, but I can see this becoming quite a closed platform with every and any program on it being google something.
  15. Nah its not that one, that one is waaaay early into the game. It is the ranch where you face Rodyle and he uses the imperfect Cruxis Crystal.
  16. Technically its my plan but we'll let Mcphee take all the credit for it.
  17. Matters what type of ram was in your old computer. If it was DDR ram then no as your new computer most likely uses DDR2
  18. Here is the windows 7 blah blah fest http://windows.microsoft.com/en-GB/windows7/products/Windows-7/what-is?os=winxp Basically its kind of Microsoft try its hand at mac style shiny. Comparing win 7 to XP
  19. Well I've decided to kick start the exercise and weight loss regime, and finally work on shifting all that weight I put on over Christmas, probably only to end up losing it in time to put it on all over again this Christmas. Been trying alot of running, and got addicted to that one hundred push up exercise programme someone posted. Tried joining the gym near me but its only a little box room, seriously no bigger than 6 square meters tops. I'd had to see what a busy day in there is like.
  20. No I think it was for the best. New gladiators was an epic fail on so many levels.
  21. Another Tribute website, I would say better than billy tweets: http://www.eternalmoonwalk.com/
  22. Would have to be secondary as Xp kicks up a huffing storm if it finds out its in a different machine. If you had an Xp disc you would have been able to do a repair installation which would fix this. But would be time consuming. I would just start afresh especially with win 7 coming out for around 50 quid in a few days time.
  23. Buy him an new jacket from a charity shop to shut him up. Equivalent exchange then he can't complain.
  24. Probably already been said but graphics card screwed. Ok it has, was taking forever to load the maaaahssive photos on my crappy ass sky broadband connection.
  25. Yush merry birthday goafer
